Based

Bridget Jones's Diary

Decent but overrated?
I'd say.... Drive

>overrated

No more like a movie that was relatively unknown and everyone who knew about it thought it was amazing and then it got popular and the people that liked it before it was popular started calling it shit.

Fight club.

This, non-ironically the answer is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

No
No
No!

What is the TMR of kino

I actually love this movie, but it was never an obscure movie

Face/Off

lost highway

Maybe this isn't specifically Yea Forums, but I've never met someone IRL that didn't love this, Amelie, City of God, or Oldboy.

maybe Starship Troopers?

Dr. Strange

Problem Child 2

Inland Empire

The Shawshank Redemption or Lost in Translation is the closest I've got.

ITAOTS is a cult indie classic that is (relatively) well known compared to shawshank which literally everyone and their entire family has seen at least three times in their lives.

Fight Club technically

Semi-popular, wasn't a success at release but made up for in cult following, early meme generator e.g. Rules 1 & 2, His Name is Robert Paulson

And one day we will fuck
All along the suck
And Anne Frank is a hottie...
SOFT AND SNEEEEEED
LET ME HOLD IT HERE UPON MY FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED

This is a great answer

Only when it started coming to home video back in the day, it fits.

Over the Garden Wall cuz of the folk americana aesthetic

The amount of people who have watched shawshank outweigh the number of people who have listened to ITAOTS tenfold. Anyone who has browsed the chans or really explored music/film has watched both by now, but shawshank is a household name whereas I could bring up the name "Jeff Magnum" to fifty random adults and only three or four will have any clue who I'm talking about.

Gets my vote

wtf how

I disagree, also go ahead and name a better fit.

I agree with Lost in Translation but honestly think is the most right in this thread

BLACKED

This is the best answer

>Eternal Sunshine

Made triple it's budget back on box office alone, which means it was an instant hit, unlike Shawshank that failed commercially (at least at the box office)

ITAOTS was not an instant hit.

>What's the ITAOTS of Television & Film?
All you fuckers trying to come up with a Yea Forums related property that approximates ITAOTS's "feel" or level of popularity are getting it wrong.
The answer is the Dark Knight Rises. DKR is to Yea Forums as ITAOTS is to Yea Forums. True symbols of board culture.

Your criteria is wrong guys
It just had to be a film that people always meme here as great
But isnt well recieved by normies or isnt mainstream

I wanna watch Eternal Sunshine again

Freddy Got Fingered

Now that this thread has picked up, time for some uncomfortable truths. Avery Island is far better than Aeroplane Over The Sea.
