are they filming anything outside anymore?

lol

Can someone explain how each of these episodes cost $20M to film?

Ooops.

I think they just pocketed most of the money episode 3 was incredibly cheap with the lighting edited out to cover up all the shitty cgi and special effects. Either they saved everything for episode 5-6 or D&D just took that shit

is that Starbucks?

wait a minute, is he cgi'd in?!!?

SHOWDOWN AT TEETER TOTTER GULCH

Assume none of the sets are real, especially the indoor ones.

>is that Starbucks?
STARKbucks

also big props to those archers. the amount of stamina and upper body strength needed to keep those bows fully drawn is actually considerable.

lotta loyalty for a half man

I’m assuming most of it goes to the actors’ salaries

100 Million dollar budget btw.

why do they use CGI instead of creating sets when CGI is so ungodly expensive and looks like shit? is it just laziness?

the main cast gets 150k+ per episode. filming on location is super expensive and time consuming and time is money. thats why the cgi footage seems to have skyrocketed this season. everytime a movie is not set in present time, everything has to be custom made, moved, stored, fixed etc. etc.

Starbucks isn't cheap

while the cgi is itself is expensive its a lot easier to organize and less time consuming compared to sets and filming on location. whenever you step outside you have to fight the elements, lighting conditions, moving cast/crew/equipment, catering, stage setting etc. also cgi allows you more freedom in post production.

or you could cramp all that into a hangar and film a 10h tv show in 2 months.

But they have free refills if you have the gold card.

the lesser main cast such as Sophie and Maisie are getting 150k+ per episode but the actual main cast of Dinklage, Kit, and Emilia are getting 500k+ per episode this season

It's a money laundering scheme

kakarot! come to fight!

and it's only at the expense of actual production value so what the hell why not

Because it's cheaper and faster to do certain things in cgi.
Good looking cgi, however, IS expensive and time consuming. But producers and directors like it because they have more control over the content, as they can change a lot of things later in post.

you are implying, that the majority of people who watch it actually care about that. they are not like Yea Forums. theyre not pausing and examine shots. they don't sit in front of a pc monitor. they sit on a couch a couple of meters away from the tv. they watch it on ipads or 11 inch macbooks.

This looks like it was copy-pasted with paint

you would have to be blind not to notice the CGI in real time. I watch on my couch a couple metres from the tv as well

again. youre not in any way the target audience. remember the burlington videos? thats the audience.

BILL

BILL WILLIAMSON

good reference

such a powerful shot

It's not about not noticing it, you snowflake. It's about suspending your disbelief because adults understand the limitations of filming a show based in medieval times.

it's mostly catering

>limitations
Literally put him outside on a patch of sand, any patch of sand.

AAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH

I don't know why but this entire section of the episide looks so cheaply made and flat in texture

im seein quintuple over here

There's nothing wrong with CGI in and of itself -- there is a problem with very, very poorly done CGI where it is absolutely not needed at all.

CUTE!

why dont they just render in the total war engine

remember in rome where you would just see shots of the generals commenting on the battle and you mostly had to imagine and nobody really had a clue who was winning until it was over, kinda like a real battle
good times

>literally just half ass it for my autistic pleasure lmao

>very, very poorly done CGI
Like the other user said, nobody except sperges is watching it on their laptops, pausing and screencapping every frame.

>literally just half ass it for my autistic pleasure
Half assing it is using the CGI you mouth breathing cock inhaling faggot. Whole assing is filming on location. If you can't film on location literally just get some fucking sand for him to stand on and it will automatically look and feel at least 7 or 8 times better than floating Tyrion.
>nobody except sperges is watching it on their laptops, pausing and screencapping every frame
And I already told you I'm watching it on a television from my couch as well. You don't have to pause and screencap every frame. You would have to blind or braindead not to notice Tyrion fucking copy pasted in there as though it was an afterthought.

got didn't even show battles early on, they spent their money on sets, costumes, and real actors instead of bad cgi

Are they even people or just copied and pasted cgi?

>You don't have to pause and screencap every frame
Are we in the same thread? Nobody is complaining about this except autistic retards. It looks fine.

>"it looks fine"

Attached: 1538368852102.jpg (489x585, 39K)

I'm just going to "marathon" the last two episodes after they've aired. Fuck this show.

>it looks totally fine
>you are autistic
>have sex
>just turn your brain off and enjoy
>its a fantasy
>just sit back and mindlessly consume your media
>dont think about anything
