They'll probably throw out some "twists" about his identity, being from and alternate universe, being from one of the realities spawned in Endgame, being Peter from any of those, being an alien, whatever, then it'll come out he's just a guy who got fancy tech somehow.
It's fun to theorize, but remember that at the core, they chose the villain to be fucking Mysterio for a reason; you probably shouldn't be taking the origin he gives in the trailer at face value.
