the most frustrating thing about this season is that they set everything up. it's like the writers don't understand the characters.
take jaime: he rides north against his sister's wishes and he cares more about doing what is right than placating his toxic lust for his sister. he puts himself on the line to make a difference and what do they do with that? lol he's actually going back to kl for cersei and he will die for her
it doesn't make sense. same with the hound. he had moments previously where he is changing his perspective on things and not being as cold as he was but now all he wants is to kill his brother. what's the point of him even joining the brotherhood and believing in a bigger picture when now he just wants to kill his bro. the best way to deal with sandor's character would have him NOT give into the things that he previously was.
dany's character is the weirdest one because she claims to be against tyrants and wants to do her best for the people but she literally burns people alive and now she is going to go on a murderous rampage because she feels she isn't going to get her way. the ultimate way to resolve her character would be for her to acknowledge that she is a foreigner to the the realm and she truly doesn't have that acumen to rule past her name and dragons. she should accept that she is becoming what she hated but instead of that we're going to get YASS MAD QUEEN SLAY THEM ALL. it's a retarded way to end her.
this show seems to lead by ppl who want to just want spectacles for people to react and fawn over rather than giving you a satisfying resolution to characters you have watched for 8 years. they seem to think that OMG WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT and I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DID THAT makes for good viewing experience. the previous seasons had moments like these but they were backed up with substance. it all seems completely against why people fell in love with this story and these characters in the first place and it's a damn shame

This one hurts the most for me because it renders so much of what he's done totally irrelevant. The Hound's slow healing from his trauma starts in the very first book when he meets Sansa and she tells him Gregor was "no true knight." Sandor letting go of revenge and learning to stay alive for a reason other than blind hatred is a process that's been happening for the duration of the entire fucking series, and if they "give the fans what they want" and have him slaughter Gregor in anything other than a mercy killing, it renders his entire fucking story irrelevant. All of his big character moments - trying to save Sansa during the Blackwater and getting a song about the Mother's mercy, protecting Arya, begging for death/release from his pain, the Quiet Isle, all of it is absolutely fucking pointless.

Why not end episode 4 on a seriously high shock of killing a main character? I wonder if its a politcal thing, as in the actor Peter dinklage has to be in all the episodes in order to make his bank. These shows get too big and lofty to ever sustain any real suspense or interest. I just want something interesting to happen. Especially when a show is in its final season. There's no risk of not getting renewed. The spinoffs and prequels can survive some daring decisions with the main canon characters. The brand will still sell merch like hot cakes because its reddit-tier normie-core 4 lyfe. I cant STAND how much this show is written with its audience in mind but in a fucked up way. We liked the characters and the way they interacted in the midst of a riveting and immersive plot. but you can't just keep giving us character interactions for the sake of them interacting.
