ITT: Post Patrician Core
Patrician Core
based
absolute cringe
what are some essential post-patrician films
Anything by this cute couple
Ok, but I prefer mirror and andrei rublev
Hear me out,
Plebs misunderstood the film and also don't realise Tyler is the villain and they think the film is just anti corporate.
patricians realise it's a critique on consumer culture and that Tyler is the real villain and the film is really about fining a balance in life
Falling Down
No. Here's a (You) for your effort.
this thread is pure rebbit cancer why don't you all go watch Days of Heaven
Yikes.
So in other words, no color motion pictures?
No, color is allowed
>not realising Fight Club and American Psycho are patrician kino
I was just talking about la strada to my gf I get chills thinking about the final scene on the beach
I like american psycho but they're only patrician in the eyes of a Yea Forumsedditor or memester
He's too indulgent of a director for me.
>The Czechoslovakian Little Mermaid movie
>Patrician
I bet you like Tarkovsky, don't you?
It's a 10/10 movie
Memes aside Bale's performance is absolutely phenomenal.
Mods should prune this thread for being off topic like they do youtube and anime threads.
Its not game of thrones sneed or capeshit.
that's the only saving grace of a direct downgrade to the book
Guys don't watch this one it has a sad ending.
All the patrician kino films have sad endings.
Paths of Glory is 10/10, it's impossible not to fucking cry watching it.
And Stalker was amazing too, it's really good and only gets better the closer you get to the end. The little comic relief brought by the queer phonecall, the confrontation between the stalker and the professor, the stalker's passionate defense of his occupation and purpose, his reunion with his wife and the wife's monologue, I loved it all so much.
Not really, I just have a soft spot for the czech new wave
Just admit that Fight Club is patrician core
I downright dislike it. If anything it's redditcore.
>okay dobsey I'm a liar, there isn't a gila monster under there, reach in and grab your goods or else we'll think you're yellow
god I fucking love that movie
Is there a greater plebfilter than pic related?
Why do you dislike it?
Also it really isn't at this point
I think the only people who dislike this movie are those who do so for political reasons.
rarely seen better dialogues and atmosphere in general
I'm not him but I'll bite. It's a Fincher adaptation of a homoerotic Palinuihk(?) novel. It is generally babbies first foray into R rated flicks, I would know because it was my favorite when I was 15. Sure, it's a fun ride but patriciancore? Nah.
For me it's Patrician Core to me because you have to be a patrician to actually understand the film
Boring shit,Intolerance is Griffith's true magnus opus.
I was not aware there was a remake
I think patriciancore should be that only patricians appreciate them. Understanding has nothing to do with it. Metaphorical or surreal storytelling should never only have value once you solve a puzzle, that's a shitty way to go about it. True kino is the films where even if you don't understand a single thing about it you still love it on a visceral level. Art is an emotional experience, not an intellectual one.
Accidentally posted this in the wrong thread because I'm dumb
Kino score as well
it sure is. I have seen it so many dam times.
You're right.
Fight Club is still kino though
I'm not disagreeing with you, but Intolerance is certainly more accessible. As a plebfilter Birth is superior, because it gets rid of all the people who can't seperate art from politics in one fell swoop. As a film, Intolerance might be superior.
Retard
Pic related is actual Yea Forumscore
objectively better than the Godfather. the only reason it isn't better well received is due to its butchered U.S. release.
BRILLIANT FILM
>Problem Child 2
That's not the Snyder cut, user.
This was way too long and the ending ruined the whole thing.
only good bit was him being racist in the beginning and asking the same fellow american for some money.
Too obvious of a bait putting in episode 3 and BvS, not enough good shit thrown in either.
Patrician core also applies to the rest of the films by Theo Angelopoulos.
paulette goddard was so hot she's still an 11/10 in 2019
>Intolerance is Griffith's true magnus opus
No, that would be Broken Blossoms.
But wtf is that ending?
should I by this poster? would it look cool in my bedroom?
Yes. Yes.
>war is so bad nooo:'(
how many times do we have to watch a movie about this? whos getting enjoyment out of these movies? we get it, war is not good on either sides people suffer. whats so great about watching the 200th movie with the same messeage?
Name a movie that has a unique message
>tfw no qt dumb gf to abuse
why live
it was one of the first and notable anti war movies you dumb brainlet
It's an illustration of what the French government did to prevent desertion, they just picked random soldiers and executed them. It's a great depiction of the cruelty that humans can commit when the guilt is shared. But why am I even typing this when all you did was a reductio ad absurdum that is applicable to literally every film ever you fucking brainlet.
Pretty much any film that takes samurais and gives them guns. Fistful of Dollars, The Magnificent Seven, the 66 version of Django.
This movie is retarded. Worst hitman ever.
He was ready to die user
lots of 'war=bad' films, not many so kino that they are banned for a decade
this looks dope. do the other tarkovsky movies have similar posters?
I don't know...
Checked, haven't watched it before better be good OP
>Streaming
>Taking a photo of your screen
>Two bookmarks of "New Tab"
Gotta be a joke man
is there a "kino" fantasy movie?
Excalibur would be the closest thing I can imagine.
Such a beautiful movie.
Come on user
decent late 90s/early 00s epic blockbuster. from the same mold as Gladiator, Braveheart and so on
didn't like it much while watching it but it has a very strong melancholic aftertaste
Not kino but if you like comfy and cheesy 80s action then Conan the barbarian
What is the difference between Patrician and pretentious ? Honestly asking
no it's not, I've deleted the two bookmarked new tabs though, thanks i didn't notice :D
It's far better than that and you know it.
You decide
i dont think its a really a good movie but its true most fans completely misunderstand it, so in a way you're right, its a brainlet filter.
I'll start
This movie is long as fuck but it’s worth it. Paints such a beautiful and down to earth depiction of growing up in 1960s Taiwan that it’s like you had a second childhood. The influences of the west were being imported and it’s fascinating to see Elvis and Rock and Roll from an eastern perspective.
pretentious is simply what brainlets and normies call what they dont understand or what they find boring
If you’re watching it because you’re consumed with curiosity, you’re a patrician. If you watch these movies so you can fill your favorites list with titles nobody knows in order to raise your e-peen, you’re pretentious.
more like super boring shit you only pretend to like to make yourself feel smart
>pretentious
Anything that is PTA
that's gonna be a big YIKES from me
Sauces please bros?
>kubrick manages to filter him
absolute state of Yea Forums
Conan the barbarian (not the new one, obviously.)
The webm is Dr. Strangelove
this must be bait because there are some legit meme answers in this thread yet you pick 3 films that are actually exciting and easy to watch (yes even stalker if you dont go turbo autist or turbo pleb with the symbolisms)
Die Brücke
Much obliged
I can tell you haven’t seen Wages of Fear. It’s fucking edge of your seat tension literally from start to finish. It’s as exciting as Die Hard or Terminator.
>there are some legit meme answers in this thread
which ones you fucking turbopleb
Hmmm, yeah, I think that might be it. A well constructed answer user
Edward Yang is great. Yi Yi is fantastic and so is The Terrorizers.
>character focused dramas are pretentious
Boogie Nights was decent but he has a penchant for parroting art house to widely varying results.
Boogie Nights and Magnolia are his worst, most derivative films. Literally copy and paste Altman+Scorsese.
The tunnel scene was so kino
Can't wait for his new film btw
The only movie I'm actually looking forward to right now.
I accidentally saw three movies that feature prison escape in the last week without even realizing at first. Oldboy, Escape fron Alcatraz, and Grand Illusion. Will definitely be adding this to my list.
What movie?
Memories of Murder (2003)
It's top tier murder-mystery kino.
Never been into silent movies but saw this recently. It’s weird how you forget you’re not hearing anything with silent film.
one stinky dinky
Where are these from?
Violent Summer
Thanks.
Came here to post this.
is that on laserdisc?
only on Yea Forums to complain about got; I thought it was a meme but you guy do have a pretty normie taste in movies
>muh donkey
literal reddit
always love the colour in Demy's films
>t. brainlet who thinks he is "deeper" into the art of cinema
theres a reason bresson is popular and your favorite obscure shitty directors arent
This movie is so damn good.
Burn After Reading makes me depressed every time, uh, i hope that's patrician enough for you guys though
It's good movie.
Do you feel the nihilism in it as bad as I did? I really get depressed after watching it, I've seen it like 4 or 5 times and its the same effect every time.
>popular
Most Coen bros films are super nihilistic and can leave a bad aftertaste.
Be honest, is it their Judaism that causes them to be so deconstructionist and critical?
I say that because I don't really see them as the typical /pol/- all Jews are nihilists, they give me the same sort of depressing feeling that reading 'realism' from the late 19th century does.
>dekalog
>calling anyone else reddit
yikes
I don't get as much of a connection to 19th century literature with the Coens as much as late 20th century literature with authors such as DeLillo and McCarthy. No Country for Old Men aside even The Big Lebowski reeks of Pynchon influence.
A Serious Man is top nihilistic jew flick though.
I kinda liked modern times, god i need to rewatch some chaplin flicks.
freddy got fingered
Synecdoche New York
why? for a skank who accidentally saved him?
If anybody felt anything but disappointment from this movie I question whether they paid attention.
Disappointment in what way? I thought the acting, cinematography, music, and writing were all great. Disappointed in that they didn't catch the bad guy?
Basé.
Dewaere was /ourguy/.
One of the first movies to critisise wartime japan in a meaningful way.
One of kinoshitos best works IMO.
The man is named KINOshita for christ sake.
Just finished watching it, breddy good.
surprisingly good movie
Millers Crossing & Barton Fink can be read as downright antisemitic
Operation Mindfuck is what this book/movie is really about
the idea is from the 60's or 70's
the author of the book read
Robert Anton Wilson Illuminati series i assume
this is just my theory on it.. cause they are the same thing
