I don't oppose the concepts of Dany having a downfall or being inept. I just take great issue with her ineptitude and insanity being written so lazily and comically this season. I think that's fair.

I enjoyed a lot of her time in Essos BECAUSE there was some meat to how her rule was depicted with its obstacles and failings; her attachment to her overly simplistic "muh breaker of chains" mission was incredibly shortsighted and naive, and gave way to comparatively much more organic conflict. This season, however, she's just turned into Angelica Pickles levels of cartoonishly self-absorbed and has absolutely undone all the political and emotional maturation she formed from Essos.

Season 5 was a downgrade from 1-4, but I think the end of Season 6 is where things started to take the truly irreversible and rapid nosedive. Seasons 5 and 6 introduced the retarded teleporting and timeskips that would only get worse going forward, but they held the last few nuggets of good moments too IMO.
