This one is built too high, you can't shoot down because the back would rise even higher and the crewmen can't reach that high. Even in the current position, the wheels to tighten the firing mechanism are too high up.

I count 4 crewmen. 2 for the wheels, 1 to load and 1 to aim and fire? You'd need at least 4 for the wheels, 2 on each side. Those bolts look pretty big as well, you'd need another 2 to load and carry ammo. That brings us to a 7 man crew. Also, where is the reserve ammo? Do they only have 1 shot per balista? The longer I look at that platform the less sense it makes.
