Hollywood was at a low point in the 60s, very few memorable kinos. The 70s became intredasting again, with all the new hollywood and european-inspired filmmaking. The dire situation of the 60s gave some freedom for new ideas in the 70s. Similar to how the 90s were a reaction to the dullness of the 80s.
