something else that bothers me a lot about alita is so little is really explained
normally going light on the exposition can be good cause your imagination can fill in the gaps but too much was left out of alita
for example:
why was her torso discarded so carelessly in a scrap heap? was she the only one? if so why? she was the only one left of many clones in a scrap heap after 300 years?
how did the war end? who won the war? nova seems to have won but yet alita and her cyborg copies seem to be nearly invincible in present day, how did they not absolutely destroy nova 300 years ago?
maybe all this shit is explained in the manga or will be in the sequels but as a stand alone movie I have to agree with many reviewers that the plot is pretty muddled

Leaving some unimportant plot points for later doesn't make the plot muddled. Everything you need to know is explained in the movie. It's important to remember that Alita doesn't know these answers either, and the movie is her journey of self-discovery.

these are questions that will likely be explored, this movie wasn't intended to be a single film. That being said, none of that is really critical yet to the main plot. The main story is her creating a new life for herself/growing up.

it's nothing to feel shame over, user. Depression isn't something you 'win'. You just learn to not let it interfere with your life as much as it wants to. I've never been on medication until February and it's not some wonder drug but it has so far kept my mood fairly even which is kind of nice.
