/tp/ - Twin Peaks

Now that the dust has settled what is the official Yea Forums consensus on Twin Peaks?

Who were the best characters and why?

lucy was the best girl
norma was the hottest

It filtered a lot of people.

Season 3 is the only thing to hit TV in recent years that's on-par with the Sopranos in terms of overall quality, if not slightly better. (before someone mentions "Gotta Light?"/episode 8, i'd probably have a better time rewatching it than "Luxury Lounge" or "A Hit is a Hit")

Lynch also did a perfect job of retconning and/or ignoring all the stupid shit from Season 2.

>hasn't watched The Young Pope

Don't mind me, just posting best scene.

Season 2?
Underrated.

so sad there is no Harry Truman in season 3
his friendship with Cooper was one of the best thing of Twin Peaks

redpill me to start this.
it got the s1&2 and fire walk and missing pieces movies.

S1/2 Shelly is pretty much as attractive as a woman can be.

say no more

>want to cosplay as a woodsman
>can't do because blackface

S1 is fantastic
S2 is mostly bad but does have some kino moments ("It is happening again", "Into the light", "How's Annie?")
S3 is fucking outstanding

BLESSED

how do people get over the shit format of the show? the whole thing just feels like a drawn out tim and eric sketch

With regards to seasons 1 and 2, it's important to consider the context - one aspect of the show, at that time, was to deliberately parody/satirize more conventional television dramas, particularly shows like "Dallas". So it does come off as over-the-top/corny at times, for sure. That's part of the charm, for most of us.

Season 3 is a whole other beast entirely. I honestly believe it is David Lynch at his best since Eraserhead.

God i just want to hug her so bad

I put Twin Peaks, Sopranos and Mad Men as my holy trinity and it fucking sucks because now I compare everything else against these and they don't come fucking close

Forgetting someone?

Start it or I'll beat your block!
Though be prepared, S2 last third (except the kino final ep) drags hard

one of the few shows that are arguably better then TP

all zoomers must fucking hang

I initially thought this ended with the "where's annie" episode. Do I watch the movie then the return next?

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH CHESTER

Attached: Chester_Desmond.jpg (873x965, 142K)

what exactly is this supposed to be? could be literally anything.

Reminder Lynch was heavily involved with season 2; he and some of the cast lie just to save face.
Confirmed by multiple other members of the cast and crew. Every bad actor needed Lynch's approval.
The fact that Lynch wasn't involved is the 'accepted truth' is mind-numbing, especially since he was quite clearly on set playing his character right in the middle of season 2.
He's also given all credit for the best bits of the show, when he only directed 2 episodes of season 1.
He also hates the show - pic related.

Donna was best girl

Attached: tumblr_nejdfr5dte1sexebfo1_500.png (500x300, 277K)

It feels good being able to skip the majority of the bullshit in season 2 when you rewatch the series. No more of that awful and useless James subplot and whatever other nonsense was there.

>missing out on Dick Tremayne, Civil War Ben, and Annie
What a pleb.
No doubt you act like season 3 didn't have a load of shit in it as well.

Civil War Ben was the only good one I'll give you that but I wasn't gonna scrap through the dirt just to see Ben lose his mind while playing general even though I remember it being great.

Freindly reminder that if you like the return you're just a retard that suck lynch's cock.

What was the explanation behind the woman with retard strength and amnesia? Or the explanation to just about any of season 2?

what happened to /tpg/?

anyone got that gif or webm of Laura dancing like an autismo?

Deadwood?
The Wire? (I hate nigga shit as much as the next guy but this show was amazing)
I'd say Boardwalk Empire but only the first two season of that shit was good.

You'll still be clueless sadly.

>DAS NOT MUH GOOPER
Have sex

>that woman
single-viewing pleb detected

>Best Character

Ray Wise Leeland/BOB
Bobby
Dougie

>Ray Wise Leeland/BOB
I still can't believe he didn't play Bob in season 3. I guess they considered it disrespectful to Frank Silva or something? Would have been a great opportunity to get him back involved though.

bump

reminder Laura is best girl

She was a literal truckstop cokewhore

all the girls had faults but Laura's was out of her control therefore best girl

god i want to cuddle in her arms so bad
most tv shows are paced like shit, especially one from the 90s
though, i think twin peaks moves a long and a bit of a brisk pace. season 2 suffers from a huge slowdown in the middle that everyone knows about, but i was never really bored
and even though like every angelo track is used like a hundred times, they're always nice to hear

Attached: 1498789809290.png (903x1464, 226K)

Audrey was best girl

Patrician taste user. I started watching this show with my friends, and they all got filtered by it, so I stopped watching. What's the order after Number Six is the one messing with the episode's Number Two and trolls him into quitting

Movie Audrey only

Was Major Briggs a bad father or was Bobby a bad son

neither. it's in our nature to rebel as teenagers. Bobby turned things around and his dad would be proud

Bobby wasn't even a bad kid, just a bit of a punk.
Briggs was a bad father and husband for continuing to participate in dangerous classified experiments while a mother and son depended on him

Laura is the one that corrupted nice guy Bobby

anti-Laura shills out in full force

what happened to /tpg/?

Got to balance out the ever present white knights

Shelly = Norma > Audrey > Maddy > Laura = Donna > Lucy > Log Lady > Nadine

I want to go back to when The Return was fresh. Every episode was mysterious and exciting, a show has never done that to me before.

>It was a dream, I swear!

based lillard. is he underrated?

Attached: h414s29axa6z.png (1892x1408, 3.23M)

why is he sticking his cig on a tube

And the /tpg/ threads were comfy af

Albert was the best.
>that scene where they explain Nadine's eye patch and he starts cracking up

An uncultured swine wouldn't understand.

So your finger tips don't smell like smoke.

what happened to /tpg/?

just his breath and his clothes

Which character was /our guy/?

we're not gonna talk about /tpg/

take your pick

Those were great times.

I mean, that's a nice shot, but this was one of the worst among those awful storylines that made S2 be what it is. Still better than the return though.

its the best show ever made
