Anyhting Harryhausen, but especially clash of titans:

You should watch the other movies Willis O'Brien did like Son of Kong, The Black Scorpion, and Mighty Joe Young. Also Ray Harryhausen's movies.

Coraline

I think ED-209 from Robocop was done using dtop motion.

Jason n the argonauts

why does Clash of the Titans look so much older than it is? Yeah 81 was a long time ago but compared to its contemporaries it looks like it's from the 60's

The Lost World original from early 1900s

The Valley Of Gwangi

You can complete the trilogy watching Son of Kong (cheap but fun) and Mighty Joe Young (great adventure movie with the dubious honor of spawning a legion of shitty kid friendly flicks about big animals being rescued from evil civilitation)

You can keep going with anything by Harryhausen, they are all mindless fun.

You can try with Laika movies but they are more in the Nightmare before christmas line than big monster mash.

If you want a different feel from Harryhausen, look for the films by the Brothers Quay. Also Jan Svankmajer

this

more like cringe motion

>Jan Svankmajer
This, his version of Alice in wonderland is pure nightmare fuel

It was, that was Phil Tippett, who worked for ILM for years, and dreamworks. He's doing a kickstarter for a fully stop motion film called Mad God right now.

Aliens final fight, of course
I didnt realize it was a stop motion fight until many years later

it wasnt stop motion, it was done with puppets
Temple of Doom mine chase was stop motion

>The Valley Of Gwangi
+1

it was an "old school" production in the spirit of the movies from the 50s and 60s, Harryhausen's last film. Even the reviews back then called it "outdated"

Add Simbad and Dr. Cyclops to the list

it gets better after the 1st short, absolute pinnacle of stop motion

in live action it was obsolete by early 80s in favor of complex animatronics

king kong is whatever compared to godzilla

Films of karel zeman

Stop Motion is now so smooth as to render it indistinguishable from cgi
Thus making it pointless
