How do you record subs on VLC without them being hardcoded? Is there a way to do it? If they're soft they don't show up on the recording, except if you're using a screen recorder, but those always make the file huge compared to VLC's own built-in function.

Doubtful it can be done without re-encoding (losing quality unless you're working with a 50gb source), but I'm not an expert I just use webmconverter.

Fuck. I didn't realize it until last night when I tried to do it. I know you can hardcode the subs through VLC, but it happens in real time (or more or less) which is too much of a chore for clips that only last a few seconds. Guess I'll keep looking for a method.
