Since the Baratheons have Targ blood, does this mean Gendry and Jon are distant relatives? Does this matter at all in Westeros culture? Like would they acknowledge each other as family, or are they too far removed from each other for it to matter?

Again, that's great but when you consider Caesar's actual life you can't just make a show about him and have all the battles take place off-screen.

I think what's the most dissapointing part of the last episode is the entire waste of potential for an amazing struggle as the humans fight against the seemingly inevitability of defeat. Plenty of room for character development as you reach a proper climax.

Caesar was one of the greatest warlords of all time, and possibly the most interesting historical figure that has ever lived. Cutting all his battles and killing him off in the first season was genuinely stupid, and if they knew they didn't have the budget to do it right then they shouldn't have greenlit the show in the first place.

A 13 episode anime costs 2 million USD to produce. The problem is the original poster is asking for a 1:1 adaptation of the book, which would eat up a lot of episodes in the long run. Also, anime never makes a profit from the shows alone. The bulk of the profit is made from BD sales, merch/figure sales, and advertising the source material which is usually a manga or in some cases visual novel, light novels, or video games. In short, anime is nothing but a glorified commercial to get you to buy the source material. Something that's already well known like Game of Thrones wouldn't really benefit from the glorified commercial format that is the anime industry.
