The show has been full retard for a long time, it just became so retarded in the last season that not even the most braindead normies can make excuses for it anymore. I think the rot started to creep in around S2 when they kept introducing their original characters and subtly changing things for the worse, but they were still anchored to the events of the books so it was tolerable. But with them having to write on their own... oh boy.
Remember when Oberyn died and then his dumb bitch girlfriend, a literal nobody, got her lesbian crew together and killed the entire Martell royal family? For... being weak? So Oberyn, who was doing everything he did because he loved his family, should be avenged by killing his family? They then started a war that Dorne has literally no possible chance of winning and forced all the Dornish nobles to go along with it even though they have no reason to follow three crazy lesbians who just committed kingslaying. Then the sand lesbians died immediately. So what happened to Dorne? What's the situation there now? What was even the fucking point since the sandshrews accomplished nothing?
And that's just one fuckup of many.
