Whoa.
This movie is some hot cinema right here. It must've been edgy as fuck when it came out. Robert Mitchum is fantastic as always. Anyone else seen it?

I have seen it but this board is about capeshit and inceldom.
oh. so no one really discusses actual movies here?
It's been while.
I heard about this once on the Mega64 podcast
>
Too bad. This is a legit great movie. Only movie the director did. I love Robert Mitchum too, badass actor.
Mega64? Any medium that would mention this is itriguing. What is it?
They’re a improv group that does video game-based pranks in public since 2000, now they have a weekly podcast where they talk about movies and games and are generally comfy
It's a great movie.
They must have pretty eclectic taste.
This film proves that critics are useless. The film failed at box office and critics didn't like it so the director didn't direct anything else. It's a pretty great film. Great visual and control of the tone. Mitchum was great, the leaning scene is fantastic.

i used to wonder why people tattooed love and hate onto their hands but now i know
It's on Amazon Prime. Should I watch it?
what do you think?
absolutely. it's not long. like 1:30. watch a movie buoyed by great performances and shots, not special FX for once.
It's pretty fucking good, but Yea Forums doesn't like good films anymore.
only 6 times.
critics are paid corporate shills and have never been anything else.
Those kids were too bbad on the priest for no reason at the beginning
Damn they really pack a lot in that 1:30, dont they? The movie did not feel so short.
I don't know how edgy it would've been when it came out, but the 1950s film noir had definitely gotten pretty mean and was routinely stretching the limits of the Hayes code.
Yep, it’s rather based
...did someone just post about a legit great movie on Yea Forums? I barely know how to react.
BANE!?
No no.. let’s not do that. Let’s not banepost ok guy? That is not how we should react here.
Robert Mitchum is such a badass actor. I love every single movie he’s in. Cape Fear is one of my favorites. He died relatively young, which sucks. He died of a heart attack soon after Jaws. He was put in movie jail for part of his career too after his arrest, so he had another chunk of potential movies stolen from us. Eminently underrated.
Is this worth watching? It stars Robert Mitchum.
I own it but haven't watched it yet. Guess I'll move it up on the list.
he was in the Cape Fear remake in 1991
yes it's an excellent drama.
it's another movie that proves the worthlessness of critics.
The photography in this is incredible. Another film critics shit hard on so that should tell you something.
robert mitchum was in jim jarmush's dead man in 1995
See and the reason I brought up Jaws is because I’m a moron and I was thinking of Robert Shaw. Hm he should’ve rightfully been in more movies.
Fucking hated it. It's full of "why the fuck would you do this" moments. I know that it's based on a real life case but holy shit it was an annoying one to watch and surely real life events didn't unfold that way.
Cinematography is great though, so here's that.
yeah, its use of shadows is great. this scene is brilliant.
