Howland Reed is gonna show up soon as they cross through the Neck to head for King's Landing.
He'll have some sort of proof to give beyond Bran's dreams.
As for Jon being a legitimate son, Sam has the diary that proves there was an official marriage between Rhaegar and Lyanna. If it can be proved Jon was born from that union, Dany's fucked.

None since he got killed by Ser Coldsteel the Hedgehog Knight

she probably would have cucked him

Tarly is top five commanders in Westeros at the time
Bobby B, Stannis, Tarly, Rhaegar and the fifth's prolly either Victarion or Tywin, though Tywin's more of a statesmen than a military commander.

How do they beat dragons?

Imagine if they added Quentyn Martell.

Patrician taste, user.

I really dig Marg's reaction to Sansa revealing to her and gamgam that Joff's "a monster".

No it wasn't, there is literally no reason it would be, nor does it appear to be.
Therefore occams razor says that it isn't.

What would /got/ do if they were in Ned's position, assuming they had more or less the same MUH HONOR upbringing.

Quentyn has the other dragon user just you wait

Tywin got rekt by Robb.

>if her and tywin had gotten married earlier they would have created a dynasty that would have ruled westeros for a thousand years
I would have poisoned them both just so I wouldn't have to hear it pronounced DIN-esty

So Stannis is coming back right?

Attached: IYWAL.png (2196x1698, 2.86M)

I feel like Oona Chaplin is criminally underrated and long forgotten. She was fuckin cute.

Rhaenyra, but only if her three Strong sons took the black. Daemon is too based to put his wife's bastard sons on the throne like some cuckb

It still hurts frens

>S8 E8, Ned wakes up in a cold sweat
>Ned, my love, what’s wrong?
>Oh, I had a terrible dream I was married to a ginger shrew and got decapitated
>How awful! Come downstairs and have breakfast with me and our three beautiful sons, that’ll take your mind off it
>Thanks, Ashara. I’m really glad that our actual children are cute and none of them look like horrible goblins

Reminder that all margeries nude scenes were body doubles

Too bad that even if the show kept the themes it established early only 1/10 people would understand it

Rhaenyra. She was the rightful heir chosen by her father and Aegon is literally called The Usurper

Attached: Screen Shot 2019-04-27 at 9.07.53 PM.png (1100x856, 878K)

Rhaenyra not even fucking close.
She was named the heir, her father groomed her for it. The ONLY reason Aegon even took the damned offer to be made king was because the Hightowers were butthurt their spawn wouldn't sit on the Iron Throne.
They went full disinfo saying that Daemon would rule them when it was never shown that Rhaenyra was a pushover for her uncle even if she fancied him. And the most hilarious thing is that had the war not happened, Daemon's offspring wouldn't even continue on the throne, it'd be Velaryons.

I want to believe

i miss her so much

If Ashara was pregnant with my child? Obviously do right by her and make her my wife. Secretly be overjoyed that I don't have to marry that trout shit.

Tywin is proficient, but not excellent. He knows to lead from the rear and delegate.
And you didn't mention Robb, who is one of the best tacticians in the series. Though I would argue he is probably better at maneuvering a smaller force more effectively than he would be with an outright superior force.
I really don't think Bobby is that impressive of a commander. He defeated three scattered forces that were supposed to rally together to defeat him separately, then got btfo as soon as he came across a real commander.

Marry the Tully bitch cause her dad's an ass who won't give me his army otherwise, fuck Ashara on the side and have some Sands or Snows. Fuck Arryn honor

Yeah, that's why I say he probably isn't top tier commander.
I'm also not sure how good someone like say, Selmy or Dayne would be. Duels are different from field commanding.

Trystane and Myrcella are cute together. Doran is pretty based. Hope Arianna dies though, she's a fucking tard. Quentyn deserved better, and Oberyn was an enjoyable character.

>Velaryons

Iron Throne strength:
>Golden Company, Iron Fleet, whatever's left of the Lannister army, anti-dragon scorpions
Targaryen Alliance strength:
>Remnants of the Unsullied, Northern, Vale, Wildling armies, Yara's ships, Slaver's Bay ships, two dragons

Logically, the next battle would be a massive naval battle. Which hopefully is something we get, otherwise what's the point in keeping Euron till the end if we're not going to have a pirate sea battle?

WHAT DID IT MEAN?!??!?

Attached: Baby-White-Walker.jpg (1268x709, 39K)

3 episodes left for Stannis to make his glorious return. Get hyped Stannisbros.

Daemon. A woman in power would only lead to disaster

Tullys would still probably support the rebellion. Or at the least they'd be completely neutral.
Brandon and Catelyn were promised to each other and his and their father's death were still awful.
Plus Jon Arryn married Lysa
Honestly just fuck both. Catelyn doesn't seem to necessarily mind that Ned had sex out of wedlock, only that he brought the bastard home and that could potentially threaten her own children's inheritance.

Dont worry bro she doesnt do nude scenes, even that commercial where she made out with that guy on the train was a body double apparently

din-esty is correct you yank freak. die-nesty sounds atrocious

You think that Dumb&Dumber are capable of writing coherent and wholesome battle?

I miss her and Marg. It's a shame they gave Marg fuck all to do after Joff died besides creep on a little kid a couple times.

I never liked the concept of the Night King at all, i think the White Walkers worked better as a "thing" that creeps up on humanity the more horrible they behave, almost like some sort of divine punishment, the fact that it had a face and he smirked just demolished his character for me

I'm glad he is also not the main antagonist, it is a "not like this" scenario for me but i wouldn't want wannabe Mordor to become the main antagonist

>implying
Just swoop in at night during a new moon and burn the Red Keep and blast holes in King Landing's walls

It looked cool and spooky so they added it. It has no relevance to the larger story. Just like 90% of what happens these past few seasons.

Not bad, but why would Lancel go up against his own house?
Unless you're planning on taking him on an adventure while plotting the downfall of his family in front of his face lmao.

Absolutely based

I mean with Ashara.
With the succession shit I'd immediately take Joffrey, Tommen and Myrcella under protection and send them North. Not even wait for Bobby B's permission either. Call the fucking banners, take the kids, tell Cersei and Jaime to run as fast as humanly possible, and leave behind a message for Bobby B to read.

Aegon. The King doesn't get to choose his heir, would be unacceptable with literally any other king. The Great Councils support Aegon's claim, and even Alysanne le feminist herself made it law that second marriage kids were equal to first marriage kids so no legal argument there.

See I wanna believe the Stannis hype, but why would they bring him back so close to the end?

It was fucking disinfo by the Hightowers. She never broke wedlock. She might not have loved the guy but she didn't break wedlock.
At least, nothing that I'm aware of says so. Might be new info in that prequel book.

>two dragons
incinerate the Red Keep from the air, done

Yara's fleet got obliterated, at the end of the last episode the only ones still standing are literally the main characters and the two dragons one which is very fucked up

I have no idea what army they have left but i bet the episode is going to start by them saying "WE HAD RESERVE TROOPS THE ENTIRE TIME"

So Bronn basically killed 10,000 people

>Ser Coldsteel the Hedgehog Knight

Both are a pretty based approach desu.

They arent going to. Expect nothing from this show and you wont be disappointed

Thanks. I don't get why people still have expectations for this show. Since season 7 the only way to enjoy GoT is to expect nothing from it.

If this got adapted in the show you just know they would have made it a small, aesthetically pleasing scratch.

Attached: .jpg (1920x1080, 635K)

Good because they're not dragons.

You have a DIN-amic posting style. I like it.

He saved his nuke drop until the enemy respawned at the base

Who has more of a chance of coming back: Night King or Stannis?

Shtannis a fag.

There's a girl with really bad burn scars that I know that I have a major crush on, so sure.

>Aemond
>little bitchboy whose only claim to fame was riding Vaghar.

Vaghar only bonded with Aemond because after having Visenya as a rider, she wanted someone a bit more feminine.

Dany has nothing left

It was hot.

d&d hate stannis so much they would bring him back as resurrected night king just to have arya stab him again

Neither. They're both confirmed.

Stannisfags, do you actually have proof that he will return or is it all vain dreaming?

IF the books ever get finished, what are the odds that Myrcella comes back Punished and extremely ruthless and with a lust for revenge?

We do not kneel.

Wasn't it established early on that you can only kill a white walker with Valyrian steel and dragon glass? Why were retards acting surprised that fire didn't kill him and talk about how he was secretly a Targ?

That would be Melisandre

Honestly don't think Jon would break his nightwatch vows for Sansa. If he didn't for Robb he definitely wouldn't have done it for catelyn's clone. Biggest fuck up in the show is having Sansa be married to ramsay and not "arya"

Ed back when he wasn't so Rad

user, Laenor is gay and both Velaryons and Targaryens, and Rhaenyra and Laenor themselves, have the classic Valyrian looks. There is literally no chance their kids would be brown haired with ugly pug noses. Those kids are bastards and thank Aegon's ghost he killed those shits so they wouldn't sit the throne and mess with a century's worth of ruler aesthetic

At least he never gave up.

Blacucks seething that Based One-Eye rode Vhagar and had a magic MILF

Sure, as long as the front isn't fucked up.

400 year old Melly?

What was the dude even suppose to do in this situation? I don't envy him. Was he suppose to say no to fucking Joeffry? Yeah what he did was terrible but... if not him it would have been someone else and he would have lost his life for nothing. And probably been tortured too

This scene is supposed to show that despite Dany ruling over the dothraki and similar she has no idea how to survive in their land and doesn't belong there. Also that she can't do shit without her dragons.

I never heard the characters were described.
They could still hatch and tame dragons. The Targ seed was strong as fuck in them.

Were there any consequences for this, in book or show?

So could dragonseeds with Targ or Velaryon ancestry dating who knows how far back, still bastards who have no right to the throne. No mutt looking Targ may sit the throne and live

Yeah they're 100% bastards, clear as day. She and Aegon both mirror the Robert/Joffrey succession (Rhaenyra had bastards she presented as legitimate, Aegon got the crown in a palace coup)

Yes and no. There was a Night King that was the 13th Lord Commander and presumably a Stark who slept with a WW Woman and turned, taking over the Wall, which is why the Wall has magic in the first place on it.

Whether he's still alive, in charge of them, or what we don't know.

Fuck is Arya going to level again?

So what's the difference between claiming the throne through right of conquest and claiming it through treason? The whole concept is might = right. If Robert was deemed a legit king for winning Robert's Rebellion, then wouldn't Cersei be the legit queen for basically orchestrating Robert's death?

The Monarchies returned after Napoleon as well, but it was too late as the seeds have been planted

that scene made no sense at all.
why did he suddenly come with his horse?
He didn't ride in when he declared that the battle was won.
Why would he get a horse in the throne room?
How did he know the precise moment his horse would shit on the floor´? And...why?

This would have sort of made sense if he did this in Dragonstone if he had defeated Stannis and accepted his surrender, shitting on the throne room floor of Stannis.

post the outcome

Both Great Councils were the precedent, and the entirety of Andal law. Younger brothers over older daughters. In fact the Great Councils goes further, younger sons over granddaughters through the older male line (Viserys over Rhaenys). By saying Rhaenyra was his heir Viserys was literally overturning the law that put him on the throne.

They still had Syrrax and her sons dragons, and the Lads were coming south.

The ONLY reason she lost was that fucking Dragonpit revolt. Aegon was completely outfucking played even after trying to 2v1 the other side's #2 Meleys

Nice. Don't expect shit to stay the same though.
I remember I played a playthrough that Robert killed Cersei, executed Littlefinger (for something), never got remarried, then Aegon invaded, somehow Viserys was still alive and also got a push from Dorne to take the throne.
Things going quite well in the Aegon war, stalemate with Viserys. Fucking Jon Snow declares that he's a targ, don't even know how the fuck he knew he was a Targ because Howland Reed died when he was a child. And also decides to go for a claim on the throne.
I as Stannis managed to help him out but it was basically Robert himself that dealt with the 3 targs in 3 separate wars, never been so proud of an AI.

Either that or Mario Naharis becomes the president or something. Either way it just feels like her being there didn't make a difference.

Robert technically claimed it by right of blood after killing the Targs. Aerys = mad tyrant so his line is disinherited, Robert is the closest blood relative and would almost certainly win a Great Council. Yes it was conquest in reality but legally it's by blood.

Robert also made a claim because he was part Targaryen.

Just because Viserys said she was heir doesn't make her heir tho, imagine Robert just turning around and saying Myrcella was heir because fuck you I'm King

Well does she?

Whatever happened to Aerion's son Maegor?

Brienne deserves nothing but a swift beheading for killing our one and only king.

The reslie scene was a body double too right? I mean she just doesnt seem like a whore

Robert's grandmother was a Targaryen, which gave him some legitimacy, even though it was really just might = right.
People have trouble with Cersei's claim because she has no blood relation to the royal family. But at that point, the Baratheon's are all dead except for a few illegitimate bastards that no one knows about. As the wife or mother of the three previous kings, she's obviously the logical choice.

>Omg it's like the Roman Empire with Dragons xD
Yikes

Guys, here comes an unpopular opinion, but I think this episode was up to good and sagacious within the logic of Game of Thrones.

Well, think to me: Game of Thrones is a series whose fame comes from subverting the expectations and clichés of the traditional storytelling of medieval fantasies. Main characters die, prophecies are not literal nor do they happen as we expect, there is a political weight for every war made and a realistic measurement of what it will demand, etc., etc. Thus, as was said years ago, a Manichean struggle of good vs evil, fire against ice, would never exist in Game of Thrones following the traditional rules of beginning, middle, climax and end. The series has given us a foreshadowing that now presents itself as a red herring from the start to prove this point that this is a medieval fantasy of another configuration. The same procedure occurred with Ned and Robb Stark, who gave us standard clues that they were somehow the protagonists of the story, when in fact they served as clues to the fact that in the series there is no protagonist, although they always intend to keep the momentum of whether or not it is. So if it is said in Game of Thrones that there is no protagonist, it is also safe to say that not an antagonist or even villain, at least not in the classical definitions of narrative. We may even think that Jon and Dany are the heroes of the tale, but until the end their condition will be in the ambiguity of "is-or-not-is," since they may be more of a hed herring than Ned, Robb , Tyrion, among others. And then, amazingly, we've been following a high school's journey all along. Is not it subversive? Or the opposite: the true protagonist is in the secondary plane and will come to the fore at the end, according to some theories that say to be the Little One (Littlefinger) the said whose. It is worth remembering that it was his dagger that killed the representation of Big Bad in this episode last Sunday.

No she's not, that's not how succession works

He disappears from history as a baby, we'll find out in F&B2 or a Dunk and Egg book. He was the legitimate heir tho, passed over because he was a baby and his dad was mental.

Yes, it's supposed to actually work that way, but even Robert was part Targaryan, same with Stannis and Renly. Its part of the reason he got the Throne in the first place despite winning the war, he was the closest relative now.

Making a show about extreme left wing "diversity" even though we know Valyrian features are blonde hair and purple eyes.
Very cringe, I hope this is just a joke.

With that we arrived at Night King. Why does a "villain" who does not even know what the real motivation is and has been premeditated since the first season does not provide the great final battle and, above all, died without seeing them in action against the "hero"? But after all, who is the hero of this fucking? Is it Arya? Is it Jon? Is it Hot Pie? Does not seem to be the case with any of them. First of all the Night King is not being conscious, at least that's what the series meant; it is more to a force of nature acting unreasonably, just the way it was programmed to be. Second, positioning this "prophesied" struggle in the middle of history and not in the end generates a myriad of effects, among them, of course, generating dissatisfaction in those who are expecting a more traditional narrative, subverting this expectation, and, as Jaime tells Bran in Episode 2, launch the question "What happens next?"

fantastic

That's a pretty shitty fanfiction, not going to lie.

>Both Great Councils were the precedent, and the entirety of Andal law
They aren't Andals, they're Valyrian.
Again, Viserys made it clear and groomed her for rulership. It wasn't like with Aemon when he died suddenly and his daughter was not prepared for it.
The lords were made to swear fealty. It was all made clear as day very early. She was to be queen. Nobody objected until the Hightowers got power hungry.

There is no succession. The Baratheon line is considered extinct and there aren't any contenders to rival her claim.

>swamp wife

If there was no war there would probably be a Great Council. I'd actually love to see that. Probably get a claim from Bobby's bastards, whoever was Lord Velaryon, Robert's Estermont uncles/cousins

The Night King is D&D OC, so they specifically gave the show an antagonist.

It does when every fucking lord swore fealty to her and accepted the decision.
At the time Viserys made his call nobody objected. It was only afterwards that they did.

I get the feeling that Euron is going to be the Negan of the show and kill like 3 main characters
They already act the same

>It literally is a body double, she even said so
Then it shouldn't be difficult for you to prove that, would it?
It would be though because she never said that

This "after" is the nerve center of the differentiated narrative that catapulted Game of Thrones to fame. Battles of an alleged hero against an alleged villain are not the end point of a story. The political weight still pervades the narrative, for now that they have faced what should be the personification of death and the fundamental symbol of evil, their problems still continue. Things do not go quite so smoothly, and Night King's "simplistic" death (which we'll admit, it was only "simplistic" because the plan was good, so much that it worked) is a key to that reading. It is not the end. He is not the villain. "Winter is coming" is the fictional parallel of the lunatic predictions of those who say the world will end by a certain date. It is logical that those who kill themselves before or turn the money because of this get frustrated, hue, because they were caught by the rhetorical illusionism of the narrative. The series still remains to its unconventional root to tell the story, what changed were the tricks, the magic to deceive the unsuspecting, since if they continued in that same litany of killing "important" characters the plot would become monotonous, and the unpredictable would fall on the level of the predictable. It's a bit paradoxical, but it's a logical change of pace.

People usually frown over that type of backstabbing behaviour. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened historically though. Attila the Hun famously took over from his brother Bleda by ambushing him with his troops during a hunting trip.

new thread:

King doesn't get to just pick which kid. That isn't how inheritance works.

This scene is about her having fevor dreams about prophecies and changing her goals from trying to save everyone like she tried in mereen, to fire and blood and conquest, also her becoming fertile again.

This brings us to these final three episodes. So let us ask the question that must be asked: what will happen now? Will they face Cersei? Will they marry, no one is going to die? We must admit that these inferences are quite linear, as if it were the logical and certain thing to happen. In fact it is foolish to try to predict what will happen, even more foolish to think that it will happen as expected, according to the logic of events. What the writers of the series wanted with this third episode happened: the audience lowered their guard. This is the fourth effect of Night King's simplistic death. Or we do not know what is going to happen, or what we think it will, it will not. We return to the dynamic of is-or-not-is. I mean, it's not that the series is "predictable", it's just that the whole fucking dynamic has reversed. What is predictable has been unpredictable, and what is unpredictable is being predictable, so that this logic will unravel and enter the real tension field: forget the prophecies and literal interpretations of foreshadows, anything can happen in these final episodes.

It is. No, I will not give TL; DR. I thank those who have read so far

But it wouldn't even be succession. Cersei only sits on the iron throne because she has the Lannister army to back her and no one has spoken up to oppose her rule. That's outright conquest by the use of her superior military force to secure the throne.

Eh... Maybe they didn't like it at all and were just waiting until the retarded king died?

That qualifies it as being potentially true.

It literally doesn't matter that she was groomed to rule. Every precedent said males come first right back to Aenys' kids and that Aegon I was king despite being middle child. It's essentially French Salic law. Women never inherit and neither do their kids, only Bobby inherited this way and that was because he took the throne by force and used the blood link as a facade. Even Aegon III was the legitimate Green heir under Salic law through Daemon's line not Rhaenyra's (not counting Aemond's witch baby because we don't know anything about him/her)

>Whatever your house sigil is impacts real life

You guys still don't get it, do you? The Night King was a red herring, a ruse. The ice and fire is Jon and Daenerys. It's going to come to blood between them. She's lost most of her Unsullied and Dothraki, but still has a dragon. Will Rhaegal side with Jon???

I dont even readed this shit, but i'm sure that is kind of "SUBVERTED" damage control

Who is that aliased hag?

Once he's dead his word means nothing. If he wasn't such a lazy dickhead he would have formalized the rules of succession in law but instead he just made everybody say I promise, which means nothing once he's dead.

>Will Rhaegal side with Jon?
Yes. Bros before hoes.

>he doesn't want a pet bridge or a pet heavenly body

A king can change inheritance of his domains as he sees well fucking fit, it's his throne.
Doesn't mean his vassals will accept it of course
But they did, that's what's fucked. Every major lord accepted the inheritance of Rhaenyra until the Hightowers got involved. They bent the knee to her and accepted her as crown princess.
Why do you think anyone besides her direct family, Velaryons and the Vale accepted her rule? The Tully's and Northmen accepted her because they were honouring the vows they took.
Well tough shit then, don't play the game of thrones when the resulting civil war involves dragons burning everything to the ground.
Honestly they're lucky the Targs didn't have any good dragons left.
If they did, I promise you, the loosing side's ancestral homes would have all burned. I can totally see Aegon having Winterfell, the Eyrie and Riverrun burned. And Daemon would definitely have cooked the Lannisters, Baratheons and Tyrells alive in their keeps.

Literally what do Dany and Jon have to fight over anymore?

sam the cuck

>A king can change inheritance of his domains as he sees well fucking fit
No, he can't
>it's his throne
Kingdoms have these things called laws. One of them is how inheritance works. It can be changed, but not exactly on a whim

Then that's one dragon plus what's left of the Northern army vs one dragon and what's left of the foreign army. The winner can March on King's Landing for the throne.

Ah yes Arya of the Witcher world

Dany wants to rule Westeros and Jon stands in the way of that because of his birthright.

>Once he's dead his word means nothing. If he wasn't such a lazy dickhead he would have formalized the rules of succession in law but instead he just made everybody say I promise, which means nothing once he's dead.
>oaths of fealty mean nothing

I mean, they don't of course.
But oaths of fealty by a vassal are law. And they carry over.
In feudal monarchies you need a good legal reason to break an oath, either as a vassal against a liege or a liege against a vassal.
They had no reason to turn on Rhaenyra's rule. If they wanted to question her first three son's claims sure, but Rhaenyra herself was trueborn and they bent the fucking knee.

Succession to the Iron Throne and independence of the North. Did you miss the tension in the conversations between Sansa and Daenerys?

Man that would really be the gayest way ever to end the show, wouldn't it? After this amazing display of unity and cooperation, the final conflict is over something so petty and small.

They chose a first son over her, the first male heir. A pretty common and legitimate choice.

They bent the knee and accepted her as ruler.
That in a way set precedent for the ending of the agnatic inheritance.
Aegon contested that and it came to war.

Aegon's claim was the weaker of the two though. If we're asking legally who was the rightful heir, it was Rhaenyra. Had the lords not promised and accepted it when Viserys demanded their fealty, then maybe you'd have a point. But Viserys took the time to make sure she would be accepted.
Hightowers were shits, just like everyone in the Reach. Besides the Tarlys and Gardeners every Reach house is made up of pansy faggots who only know how to scheme.

Might makes right because you have people willing to follow you and fight for you. It is basically as good as a legit democracy. You can't be a queen if your subjects don't respect you or want to be under you.
