Why do people like horror but hate slasher?

watching the same movie over and over again gets boring after a while

i dare you to show me a single slasher movie that strayed away from most conventions in the last 20 years

horror movies are for autistos

As someone who loves slashers I still understand it's a particular niche. That said anyone who doesn't appreciate Black Christmas is a retard

>stop liking things I don't like

watching the same movie over and over again gets boring after a while

i dare you to show me a single horror movie that strayed away from most conventions in the last 20 years

Who said i like horror? I'm telling you why people don't like slasher movies

>Hatchet
>Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon

>discount man bites dog
>breaking any boundaries

Probably because they were the norm in the 80s and even some of 90s, meaning people got bored of them eventually.
Much as I hope will happen to possession and ghost shit that infest horror nowadays

Who said i asked why people don’t like slashers? I'm telling you why your post is an oxymoron

>Who said i asked why people don’t like slashers?
How cute of you to repeat my posts, but take your head out of your ass and read the OP. "why people don't like slashers" is the point.

Because slashers are overdone and there's more than one type of horror.

You don't understand. This time it's a haunted demon instead of a possessed spirit.

I'm sick of ghost movies the way some people here complain about slashers. Ghost movies are always fucking stupid. Ghosts don't exist. The movies all end the same way, play out the same way. There's always a creepy kid, i.e. shitty child actor with too many lines. 90% of the horror elements are just jump scares and piss poor lighting. Let's complain about fucking ghost movies for once on here.

>Ghosts don't exist
Thank god i'm a slasher patrician because Jason totally exists

The first Paranormal Activity was innovative, though, along with the first SAW. After that people tried copying the formula and it became repetitive.

psycho killers exist, you turd. quit arguing like a scorned girlfriend.

>psycho killers exist

Yeah and they're also immortal. And go to space, hell and shit

Blair Witch did Paranormal Activity 10 years earlier. It wasn't innovative at all. Found footage had been chugging along just fine ever since '99 made it popular.

Not all slashers are good. The F13 is pretty bad but it often serves as an intro to the series. If you intro the same person to the first Halloween or the Nightmare series, they'll see the subgenre in a better light.

Still scarier than a specter or a possessed doll
a good horror movie would be a guy who drives a truck hauling bricks that are unsecured so they fly off behind him and hit other drivers

well, the road accident was the best part of Final Destination 2 so it could work

What if that was how the trucker killer murdered people. Imagine a whole ass movie with a trucker hauling bricks and letting them fly off and tyrannosauras rekt other people driving. I'd watch it.

The only good slasher
