Huh, I did think the ending felt out of place. While in the moment I would like that ending, but mel Gibson "winning" might have felt too nice and perfect in an otherwise grim affair. Imo the best would be the way it ended but the black guy sent the family nothing or something of mels

It's Zahler's most dishonest film. His subversion at the end was only done in an effort to set his movie apart from others but there isn't enough collective suspension of disbelief in the world to convince me some low rent nigger shoots mel and gets away unscathed.
