It's horrible unless you're a retard neolib boomer
cos it ended ages ago
Sorkin trying to capture the same feeling as the West Wing and failing miserably. this show has some of his worst writing by far, and doesn't have the cast that WW did to bail it out
because its a pale imitator
because its a piece of shit show only freshman college kids think is deep and meaningful
Because it's preachy and overall not interesting.
Here's a video of dumb and dumber telling you that your country is shit and he, a boomer who precipitated the departure of industry and the advent of underpaid service jobs staffed by an ethnic underclass, doesn't know why.
It's meh.
>implying it's anything of an intellectual show
MY NAME IS AARON SORKIN AND I AM VERY SMART
he was autustic
its a piece of shit, all the characters were just copies of each other, they were fast talking quiplords
aaron sorkin writes the worst characters and dialogue on tv
>Why this isn't talked about here you plebrainlets
because it is shit? honestly it is so full of itself/sorkin is so full of itself that it is completely disgusting to me. Sorkin thinks his dialog is smart i guess but i find it rather shallow and unnecessarily convoluted.
I have never seen so many strawman arguments used so repetitively before I watched this shit show
Remember when Sorkin tried to write NBC editing Zimmerman's 911 call to make him sound racist as a silly accident?
Because its not 2012 anymore?
What the fuck is wrong with you guys. Season 1 of Newsroom had such great writing. 2&3 dropped balls, but 1 is unironically great. Perhaps being a non-American, I enjoyed more because it I didn't care for any of the arguments on either sides.
you're retarded and ESL your opinion is fucking irrelevant in particular with respect to the writing
abomination
imagine making a show where olivia munn is unironically the best character
So English is only spoken in America?
Guess who just played himself calling others retarded
i remember laughing so hard at this scene
how can anyone defend this writing
>Season 1 of Newsroom had such great writing
kek brainlet
YOSEMITE?
lol drama is such a shit genre; kek that is awful writing
bahahahahahahahahaahahahahahaha oh god this is terrible rofl
i tried to give it a chance but if you don't drop it hard when it hits the coldplay episode you are certifiable
This season was poor. The season before was good.
>Why this isn't talked about here
It isn't talked about anywhere
It sorta felt interesting and unique in like, the moment it came out because the Republican party was the party of Koch and the Tea Party and fucking idiots like Palin and Cheney and all that shit.
But by the third season, we were mid-Obama years, shit wasn't the "hope" everyone expected and was actually doing horribly, and it started to feel like maybe being smugly liberal was kind of fucking stupid in the face of that and the show lost a lot of context. Plus I think they spent an entire season with Roundy McRoundface having a mental breakdown because she saw a black kid get shot in Africa and that was retarded.
By the time there was gonna be a 4th season, we were on our way to Trump presidency, and there was a war on the mainstream media and fake news, and I guess the writers & producer figured that a show trying to paint the news as the good guys and demonize the Right Wing wasn't gonna play well in that context.
Exactly what I thought when watching it during college. However I grew up since.
This fucking shit right here. I was convinced the West Wing was a fluke and Sorkin was a hack. Then I remembered Moneyball and he was only slightly redeemed.
Aaron Sorkin is the worst kind of writer in that he only uses his characters as a vessel for himself. It doesn't matter what the setting is, all of his works are just his own inner rants mapped out through obnoxious characters, incessant dialogue and deceptive time periods.
Lena Dunham has the same problem, but she's a much easier target to make fun of than Sorkin because basically everyone has given up on Lena at his point.
I'm not American and this scene made me tear up. Fuck you.
>fictional characters reacting to an IRL major tragedy
this will always be the worst kind of writing, fuck Sorkin
>Roundy McRoundface
LOST
AMERICA IS NOT THE GREATEST COUNTRY
Obama is a winner.
Because we're the opposite of reddit and this the most reddit of shows.
I have never dropped a show so hard
It's the most insufferable and tedious thing I've seen, and is painful unless you enjoy injecting propaganda right into your veins
>yet he gladly took millions while the world burned around him
>non-American
>Loves lefty emotion based show
Yep figures.
Imagine if the show had the US President fucking little girls and then drinking their piss? That would be so outside reality and fake news.
I enjoy the show but it's garbage compared to Sorkin's other shows Sports Night and The West Wing. Also ASP is more talented than Sorkin minus the political bullshit and with cuter girls
I don't see what's the point you're trying to make. I don't give a shit about Obama or Trump or even Hillary.
OBL was a symbol that defined that decade. The President that brought him down is none of my concern, but the way it was handled in this scene touched me, that's all.
It's another lefty preachy show designed for those liberals who live in gated communities away from black people to let them know how much better they are than those stupid white rednecks.
>we
Why are you pretending to dislike the show, u/faggot17
He's a loser and only a loser thinks he's a winner.
Lol triggering bradysknee is always so fun.
How'd mueller time end up... faggot haha
I dont care about your country and politics because it's all dogshit but I did enjoy the technical procedure of how newsroom operates, but about when the boy lied and they split two teams for fresh eyes, or when they needed so many sources and were the last to air but the guy wasn't shot dead so good. That was interesting.
I didn't think he was too liberal either. I mean obviously he was pretending to be Republican to shit on them but I thought he was pretty rational.
because I do.
>Bunheads
too soon ;_;
>That would be so outside reality and fake news.
Yeah it would.
did you also thing attack of the clones was a beautiful love story?
>How'd mueller time end up... faggot haha
The President worked with Russia but was prevented by his people from actively committing obstruction? Why did Barr hide?
>I'm not American and this scene made me tear up. Fuck you.
to be fair though, liberals in gated communities ARE better than stupid white rednecks
nobody makes it their goal to become a stupid white redneck
It's funny since many of those on Fox News and who lead the NRA live in upscale gated communities with known Homosexuals like Rand Paul and Lindsay Graham.
Best Emma.
At least before she got those awful lip injections
Fuck Jeff Daniels and Fuck Aaron Sorkin and fuck HBO
Because it's tone got even more faggy and leftist after the first season which was actually kind of interesting. It's just (((them))) trying to deify the industries they control and regain some credibility for the news media by portraying them positively when in reality the entire industry is rotten to the core.
>Hindsight-Is-20/20 the show
Because it's genuinely an awful show about scatterbrained women and insufferable douchebags. Show is predicated on him being a Republican, except that he's smart and reasonable, which means that he admits Democrats are right about everything.
and I actually like Aaron Sorkin
>muh koch brothers
Fuck off you retarded leftists
The Koch brothers are mostly doing good.
It's you pieces of shit that are destroying this country with your central banks.
Rand Paul is based as fuck and shits all over the authoritarian democrats.
>His rant where he goes off on conservatives and then the only thing he accuses liberals of is that they lose elections too often
Yeah he's clearly a "Republican"
I always had a real soft spot for Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, despite the sketches being like a high school comedy club and some classically terrible Very Special Episodes, like the one in the small town where the arrested guy doesn't want to say his brother is in the military for no reason at all.
Sorkin's "powerfully unique" dialogue came off as contrived & stale.
Yeah, that's the show. He's a Republican, who mentions how he's a Republican all the time, who loves Republicans, yet he's decided to be a truth-teller, which means he spouts every Democrat talking point.
The problem is that Sorkin is one of those leftist fags who find Republicans incomprehensible, and think that anyone who doesn't agree with them is either stupid or evil. So, Sorkin writing a Republican truth-teller is someone who isn't willing to pretend Republicans aren't on the wrong side of every issue.
To be fair, most Republicans irl are just neocon degenerates, which makes them very similar to the average democrat lefty anyways.
You’d be hard pressed to find an actual republican that is unironically against gay marriage and open borders.
I was never a fan, especially in regards to the sketches. You're making a show about sketch comedy and you can't even get that right. He should have at least hired some SNL writers or something
sorkin's writing represents everything I hate about contemporary fiction. it's so aggressively witty and offbeat, yet at the same time takes itself way too fucking seriously. this scene is a good encapsulation of that.
>He should have at least hired some SNL writers or something
He got Mark McKinney from Kids in the Hall, which was a pretty great sketch show. Probably others too who aren't famous.
I don't blame them too much. It's almost impossible to get the "show inside the show" to not require a suspension of disbelief, whether it's a movie about a baseball team, or ballet dancers, or any kind of artist / musician, or yeah, a sketch comedy show. Questionable decision to even show the sketches. Hard enough to make a dramedy show without also getting your cast to pump out great sketch comedy.
Do you even know what neoconservatism is? Do you see a lot of support for foreign interventions and nation-building to spread democracy these days?
He thought the Tea Party was the American Taliban.
>n-no, this is what was REALLY happening
It's wish fulfillment.
BELGIUM
Because it's literally nothing happens - the show
I don't remember anything about it, even though I've seen the whole show.
I only remember two things, the opening scene, with, shouldn't count because most people have seen it even without watching the show, and two, olivia munn is in it. Olivia Munn is in a fucking hbo show. Laughable.
It's painful to remember Munn from yesteryears.
Sorkin is walking, talking soi
there's a lot more important problems than sri lanka: the show
the opening is great and irrefutable because america has only gotten worse in every statistic that he cites, but cuckservatives will still pretend that its a shit because it takes a fat dump on their propaganda machine
>irrefutable
>claims European countries with no freedom of speech are just as free as the US
season 1 was great, but the setting was in a awkward place where it’s too close to the present to be a period drama, yet too far in the past to be a effective social commentary piece, season 2 & 3 paid the price. the cast were the only saving grace, most of them did a excellent job through out.
To be fair, most people don't really care about free speech. Most are perfectly fine with mass censorship as long as they aren't the ones being censored.
Jeff Daniels ruins everything he's in
This was like Steven Crowder's parody of Sorkin, and I like Sorkin
