I've lived in SF my entire life and my QOL has been going up. I think it's because I got an education, which is free in SF to get a bachelor's. After I graduated I got a job in 2 months that earns me 90k with 401k matching, free medical and dental, 3 weeks vacation, zero overtime, and doesn't require a car to commute. My job is in the middle of the financial district, so after work I am less than a ten minute walk from anything I could possibly need.

But Cali have nice weather.

The reason this article was posted is BECAUSE everyone knows its the most relevant/desirable/best state and this article is "shocking". If it was well known as a bad state you wouldn't have to keep repeating it, because everyone would know.

This is unfortunately just what happens in the most desirable places in the world, sad but better than the alternative of being irrelevant. For example, if Texas became the commonly considered best state people would move there, house prices would shoot up and less successful people would be priced out and unable to compete.

I've lived in the Bay Area for the last 35 years. You might think it's okay, but that's just proof you weren't here in the 90s when it was actually still pretty nice. I remember hanging around the city all day when there were maybe a couple of homeless people, and they were usually painting their faces, doing some michael jackson dance, whatever to try and lure in some quarters.
Now SF is a complete shithole. Literally. Bums ALL OVER. You can't drive a car in the city because someone'll smash your window first time you leave it. Even if you leave your car with NOTHING in it, some bum will come up and say he'll 'watch' your car for 10 bucks. If you don't pay up, enjoy the slashed tires when you come back.
Homeless niggers will run past and snatch a phone out of your hand in a second if you're not constantly on your guard.

And the surrounding area? As soon as you exit the south bay it's basically third world tier. It's like a shittier mexico as soon as you go past San Jose. San Jose is pretty mexico too, but beyond that is just La Raza except stabbier.
I actually live in a rich area, which used to be all white. Now it's all asian and indians. We used to have block parties where everyone would get together with their families. Kids would play football or whatever. Nope, not anymore. Just dead eyed chinks staring at you blankly with their doll eyes and jabbering at each other. Can't have nice things, like community gardens, etc. because there isn't a community any more.
