Prophecy didn't come true, but why does that matter? Am I the only who is sick and tired of every fantasy prophecy becoming true?
Prophecies in real life rarely come true, so why should they in fiction?
The only thing that matters is that characters believe in them and allows their actions to influenced by them.

>Build up a prophecy for 8 years
>Completely disregard it when the event referring to it comes

It matters because it was a complete waste of time in the end.

heavy handed clues about Jon's true parents turned out to be true
heavy handed clues about who could be the one true hero dont turn out to be true and arya's revenge training just was useful in another fight not about revenge

the ending that was promised

Because bringing up a prophecy and then completely forgetting that you brought up the prophecy is bad writing. Even if it doesn't come through it should have some effect on the story. The characters don't even go "welp the prophecy wasn't true, guess we got bullshitted lol". The writers just pretend that they never brought up the thing in the first place and hope that their viewers are dumb enough to not remember or care.

in fantasy worlds there can be an actual supernatural force at work

if they wanted to subvert expectations while showing that prophecy is bullshit they could of just had the night king kill jon and win the battle like instead of Quasimodo "nothing personell" stealing his arc.

this

>implying prophecies aren't real

Just read ancient greek history

shut up Cassandra, we all know you're full of shit

does this exists in higher quality?

The entire bran plot line has no meaning, same goes for jon and dany.
Now just send Arya to kill Cersei.
Because nothing matters and all men must die.

Cersei is the mvp, she dindu belevie in undead army.

Maybe the prophecy didn't happen because the NK wasn't the Great Other.
>in order to unleash the sword's true powers he had to plunge it into the heart of his loving wife, Nissa Nissa.
Trusted spoiler source confirmed that Jon will kill Dany, so there's still a twist coming.

are you talking about the webm or the youtube video?
