I did some research. apparently the guy was called paul charles dozsa, he was a pretty good chess player and was famous for eating at expensive restaurants and not paying. he also liked to stay in nice hotels and then leave without paying and rented fully furnished apartments, sold some of the furniture and then disappeared. guy claimed he was part of royalty and even went on to say that he had a thing implanted in his head that made him do the things he did.
