It was good.
First two movies were the best. Based Scientologist action man.
ending sucks tho. helicopter in TGV tunnel..
Here is the real ranking
Mission: Impossible
Mission: Impossible β Ghost Protocol
Mission: Impossible β Rogue Nation
Mission: Impossible 2
Mission: Impossible β Fallout
Mission: Impossible III
It's one of the very few Hollywood blockbusters that was made for a higher than average IQ audience.
dude ghost proctologist was shit, I stopped watching MI movies after that
It was directed by Brian depalma. One if the industry legends
>unapologetically rips off hitchcock film after film
>legend
>I stopped watching MI movies after that
Well the most recent one is at least worth one viewing.
You're retarded and we don't need you here
This is the real ranking
1- MI 1
2 - MI 3
3 - Fallout
powergap
4- Rogue
powergap
shit: 2 and 4
How will he top the HALO jump(s) bros?
haven't seen Fallout yet, but I definitely agree that MI:2 was complete and utter shit
I mean a villain from Australia, really? the fuck are they gonna do? use drop bears and digeridoos? oh no!
Wtf is this meme ranking?
>God tier
Fallout
Rogue Nation
1
>Great tier
Ghost Protocol
>Shit tier
3
>MI2 tier
2
>shit: 2 and 4
>he fell for the mi: 2 is shit meme
Get out.
why are you quoting what your parents said to you last night?
Seriously. Just go away.
Is this the ONLY time where disrespecting the original long-running material actually worked out for the better?
I watched it last week, for the first time in at least a decade.
I don't get the whole "the first MI is confusing" meme. If you're actually fucking looking at the screen and listening to the dialogue i don't see how it gets confusing or hard to follow at any time. Not even trying to sound smart here, am i missing something?
that looks, extremely painful
How long until he ends dying while filming
No you just have an IQ of 110
I remember back in '99 going for my first slumber party, and his mom rented this and Sixth Sense for all of us to watch. We put it to a vote, and I was the only one out of like 12 guys to vote for Sixth Sense. I fell asleep when it was on, and didn't get to watch Sixth Sense until years later.
So Mission Impossible can suck a dick
Like the James Bond franchise, all the Mission Impossible films are worth watching at least once.
Heβs doing too much plane shit.
I think he should do something in space.
that gun would've ruined that helicopter.
It was really good but what do you think was genius about it?
nu trilogy is pretty solid if you ask me
GP RN and F are all utterly solid action flicks
for all the praise that john wick got these were somewhat underappreciated
anyhow the first one is just so comfy it's amazing. dialogue is solid acting is great and looking at cruise without face lift is something that makes me smile
for you.
I fucking love Tom Cruise
doot doot doot doot
deet deet doot doot
doot doot deet doot
dan na na
na na na
na na na
niggers
The silly mad cunt broke his ankle and the shoot was put on hold for a number of months so yes.
100%
MI is a much better film than The Sixth Sense and you're a faggot.
iktf.
What did user mean by this?
It's gotta be wingsuit
youtu.be
.
can't bruise the cruise
Do you have a webm of when be hops up that pole in MI 5?
>when be hops up that pole
What?
>meme
spotted the pleb
>shootout in a zero gravity plane with real bullets
Fucking hell the absolute STATE of this post and image.
So is it a cameraman trained to jump or a jumper trained to film?
MI:2 was the worst of the series
I saw that piece of utter shit in the theaters twice
the second time I saw it was what ruined it for me, I started picking it apart and MI:2 is definitively Who's worst movie
fight me poof
>MI:2 was the worst of the series
Obviously not when MI:3 exists.
they're both bad, but the cringe inducing schlock present in that utter box office turd is far worse than Jew Jew's MI:3
Ahh yes, I remember.
Holy fuck, I kinda want to watch the mummy now
CGI have destroyed filmmaker intelligence
Most cant even follow the story. MI and MI2 are the only worthwhile ones to watch. Rest are mindless action.
>MI and MI2 are the only worthwhile ones to watch. Rest are mindless action.
This is true, but still.
Did you ever realize that Tom Cruise never once fires his gun in the first movie? I feel like they did that on purpose.
impressive, funny how reviews suggested 'cgi overload' there
that's because De Palma
It's kino. Not even Cruise fag, he always plays smart spy or something, but he's so natural in that movie, kinda selfish, kinda jerk.
>Not even Cruise fag
Bit weird but still.
it was alright. I prefer Ocean's Eleven however
tom cruise is an immortal he can not die his thetan levels are too high
What was going through Sir Tom Cruise's head during this moment?
Tom Cruise's endgame is to die, on camera, in character as Ethan Hunt
I mean, he always plays flawless characters. Mission Impossible guy is just too ideal. Same with Top Gun. I enjoyed his performance in The Mummy because it was totally opposite. Selfish asshole who didn't want to be a hero. He just wanted to get away from that mess.
He had only two more movies like this. War of World and one where he plays contract killer.
>he always plays flawless characters
Not always.
He'll go into space for real.
A cameraman jumped out of a plane to film a cameraman jumping out of a plane. Pure kino.
>tfw have only seen the 2 first
I live by the rule that I never watch the third movie in a film series, since 99% of the time it's garbage to milk the first two. So I'd rather not ruin the two first by watching the third. I've only broken the rule once, and that was with LoTR.
I remember a big stumbling block among people was the first Mission Impossible film was too hard to follow but what was exactly confusing or convoluted about it? Did people not pay attention to the movie? It's not like it was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
>I live by the rule that I never watch the third movie in a film series
That's good because MI:3 is the weakest. Watch MI:4 onwards and you'll be loving it.
MI:3 still has the best villain of the franchise but that was more because how Phillip Seymour Hoffman played him than how the character was written.
>MI:3 still has the best villain of the franchise but that was more because how Phillip Seymour Hoffman played him than how the character was written.
I always maintain that every single MI film is worth watching at least once. After that you can make your own mind up.
Based goats.
great up until the train
Lady mummy is soooo cuuute and creepy. Goddamnit.
>in that utter box office turd
MI2 is the highest grossing in the series you FUCKING IDIOT
IMAGINE
so he's a soldier and he wakes up that mummy girl and... what?
3 gets a lot of hate but it's undeniably a great film imo, JJA sucks at big sci-fi franchises but his shallow style and the way he plays with narrative gimmicks is well suited to the playful spy heist genre. It's what made alias great and put him on the map in the first place, and in a way it's more respectful to the original mi TV show, whereas de palma was going for Hitchcock and dassin. The Vatican heist in mi3 is one of the coolest set pieces in the whole series, the rabbit foot mcguffin is a clever little gimmick. He's also not a visual storyteller or cinema auteur unlike de palma or woo but his transition from TV show runner to blockbuster director felt more organic than say Whedon, at worst it shallow copies the Bourne trend of the time with the shaky cam shit but it's also obvious he has closely studied the style of Tony Scott, McTiernan and true lies era Cameron, Dan mindel brings a lot of style to the movie and its just very dynamically and playfully constructed and edited. I love 2 for the woo shenanigans but it's also a complete mess. JJA did a great job of saving the tone and characters by giving them a heart.
Who the fuck knows.
the smell
Lazy fucking wrap up: the movie
>hurr everything was masks
The movie was decent. But holy fuck I remember being very disappointed by this shit in the theaters. Also killing Emilio made me sad
Sry for phoneposting, lot of typing and im outdoors but anyway, also spoilers, obviously.
Tom is a soldier and he finds mummy's tomb. He sets her free and she has crush on him because he saved her from horrible peril. In past, she killed her pharaoh father and his newborn son. Then sold soul to Seth for immortality and evil powers but she promised to bring Seth into human body. She had a lover that was supposed to become Seth. Egyptians found them, killed the guy and punished princess. She was immortal so they just buried her alive. She had to spend centuries tightly bandaged and locked in her coffin, horrible, horrible fate, worse than death DESU. Tom set her free and she wanted to give him these Seth powers and from now on she will protect him. There's plane crash and sarcophagus shatters, Tom is fine but his friend dies. There was some Men In Black style monster hunting agency lead by dr Jekyll. They chained mummy princess and wanted to kill Tom as soon as Seths ritual is over. Mummy escapes in chaotic fight when Mr Hyde shows up. Tom and blonde nobody cares about decide to destroy magic stone. Ah Yes forgot to add that Princess needed ritual dagger and stone. Crusaders stole them long time ago and she had to find these. Anyway she finds dagger, stone and Tom. There's short fight, she's throwing Tom all around because now she is fully regenerated. Tom gives up and stabs himself. This scene but magic stone was cracked so he isn't fully in control of evil god. His will is strong enough to overpower Seth and use these powers to defeat mummy and bring his friends back. Tom is stuck with evil powers now, we dont see his monstrous face for longer than 1 second. The end.
Some very cool ideas. Mummys dual eves or creepy looking tomb. It's not like in Indiana Jones or something, not as cartoonish.
Also sry for grammar, Im drunk
Xenu forgives you.
Sounds very cool and unique. Why was it hated then?
Dunno. Something about monsters universe thing but it's like 10 minutes or so and its more about mummy's plants than other monsters anyway, theres 1 shot of vampire skull and swamp monsters hand. Plus action horrors are always panned. Look at Van Helsing, Resident Evil or Underworld. Latest mummy was panned too, Tomb of Emperor Dragon or something.
Appears close to accurate.
BRAAAPP
It's easily the best one.
Put MI2 at the end and I agree with this.
No.
>and one where he plays contract killer.
It's Collateral, dude.
