>old, unhappy, resentful character often goes to bars where he gets drunk
do people really do this? Why won't he drink at home? these characters don't even talk to other people and are often approached against their will
Old, unhappy, resentful character often goes to bars where he gets drunk
just because you hate people, doesn’t mean you don’t get lonely.
this type of character doesn't have friends. Just because you are around other people doesn't make you less lonely?
If it anything it makes me more lonely to be around people. Seeing them converse and laugh with each other, fuck that.
You'll never get it.
when you isolate yourself, any human interaction can be comforting. Even if it is just ordering a drink from the bar tender and hearing other people’s conversations.
where I live a beer costs like 7$ at a bar when I can drink at home for $2 a beer. I don't get why people go there. I'll drink at home any day.
Because imagine how boring a film would be if it was truly realistic.
I once sat in a club alone. It was horrible. My date stood me up. Then she turned up 2 hours late, and danced with other guys whilst i pretended not to care. I did care inside but life is brutal. I just wanted a gf. That was in 2010. I havent been to a club since, and i never will.
Why didn't you left afer being cucked so hard?
Beer is a ripoff no matter how you drink it. I can get a fifth of decent bourbon for $9.
I sometimes go alone to the bars, sit by the bar and just contemplate drinking beer. I once talked with a girl who started the conversation but since I already had a few and still drinked I got drunk and one point and didn't ask for her phone number. I also met a french couple. I think they were looking for someone for threesome or the guy was just a cuck so we scheduled a meeting the next day but I chickened out and just went out drinking again. They brought some brazilian guy with lol.
you are right
>old, unhappy, resentful character often goes to bars where he gets drunk
>do people really do this?
yeah if they don't know how to use Yea Forums
>used to live downtown
>occasionally went to local bars
>would talk to other people
>that's about it
Yeah it was a waste of time
Because random groups of people were taking pity on me, i told them i was waiting for a girl, and when she turned up and acted like a bitch i didnt want everyone to know it was her.
Looking back they probably didnt give a fuck but when your young things like that matter. I now avoid social situations.
He still had hope and that was the final straw. For me it was a Halloween party where the girl I liked fucked some other dude and the combination of disgust and alcohol made me throw up. That was the last time I ever even tried hitting on a girl.
What were you dressed up as?
Tropes gonna trope
I once went to a halloween party and my childhood crush and her big-titty jewish friend let me fuck them right between the tits. I hope we're not the same age.
How do you get invited to a Halloween party? Do you live in a really urban area? No one where I live does these cool things and I've hosted parties at my place before but only with less than 10 guests.
kids
Club cuck here. Your story is worse. Maybe my date got fucked out that night (99% probability), but at least i wasnt around it.
I can just imagine how you felt. I felt like clawing my own eyes out, like i'd been stabbed in the stomach. Not a nice feeling
How old were you?
not the same guy but it's a suburb thing
it's an excuse to do drugs
A kung fu master complete with fake beard. Although I removed the beard after about half an hour.
13 or 14
I went there with some cooler friends I had made and the night ended with me getting a handjob, blowjob, AND tittyjob then skating before one of their boyfriends showed up
I don't even know why it happened.
Hahaha
>less than 10 guests
I dont even know 10 people, including family
>Just because you are around other people doesn't make you less lonely?
You’ve never experienced real loneliness.
I grew up in the Dallas suburbs, got invited to it through one of my good friends.
You are the one who never experienced it. Being around others makes it worse.
>friends
Normalfag
No shit I only drink alone at home. Am I an alcoholic?
Probably
Not anymore though, all my friends either moved away/got married or we had a falling out over some dumb bullshit or the other.
People dont make movies about depressed drunks who stay at home.
At least depressed drunks who go to bars interact with other characters
I wish i wasn't so alone.
That's normal though. After a certain point most people don't have friends so much as they just have acquaintances, and it's expected to be that way.
solitude is godtier when you learn to harness it
are you the guy who works at my local CVS?
because I know he posts here and he keeps trying to spark conversation
if you're not him I can't help you
>guuys look how alone i am! lol im such a god!
yes
I'm something of a shut in, and I do still like to go out to bars. Just the walk through the streets at night, seeing people having a good time, and then sitting and having a drink or five while soaking up the atmosphere makes me feel a little more like part of humanity. Plus, there is that, deep, secret hope that someone will talk to you, even if it (almost) never happens. And you might see someone you know, shake hands, ask how they are doing, and feel socialised for the next month.
>tfw you did meet someone, and the next evening Netflix'd and chilled, felt her legs around your waist, but didn't go beyond that because you are volcel
t. neet
He goes there secretly hoping someone will acknowledge his existence and possibly go out of their way to engage him in the human interaction he tells himself he has no use for.
cringe
I’m sorry user
Hahaha so close. But it wouldve been 666. Satanist girlfriend...
Thanks bro
You have to experience it to understand it, every time I feel like that I go and drown a couple Negronis on the local bar.
You guys care too much. Not an insult, I did too, and I hope you can keep that. I'm just out of fucks to give to the point I struggle to be interested even when a woman is genuinely interested in me. I can be pressed up against a woman, humping me, and mr winky just isn't interested and I want to be home playing vidya. You can become damaged beyond repair.
>home playing vidya
What you playing at the moment
Read "A Clean Well-Lighted Place" by Ernest Hemingway.
>didn't go beyond that because you are volcel
More like copecel lmao
Not much right now. I don't have anything to game on atm.
how do I go into a bar without standing out too much. when I see a bar it's mostly chads and stacies going there while I'm a manlet. I'm very anxious about going there
Have you never been to bar? you can talk to the bartender and other patrons of the bar, in fact, its one of the few places where that is socially acceptable?
you are right. I've never been to a bar. what do you even talk with bartender about? isn't he busy? does he like it? isn't he annoyed?
I am extremely thin-skinned, it's true. I obsess over the smallest slights and insults that most well-adjusted adults can simply shrug off. I don't keep grudges but I have no emotional armor.
The bartender is most often a 30+ woman and she will be glad to talk to you. Most bartenders are giga extroverts, they thrive off socialization
ok. but there are other guys at the bar that she needs to serve and want to talk to her. how do you actually have a conversation
By being a regular and not going at peak hours
>Why won't he drink at home?
The whole point is to get out of the house, usually away from a nagging wife and pestering kids. Not everyone is an adult son still living with their parents.
I can't believe I never thought about that. Fuck my life
I used to. It's just nice to be somewhere dark with some noise and TV while I get drunk. It's comfy.
People who don’t appreciate solitude are missing out on a key part of life. You need time to figure out yourself
Why don’t we shut in anons just hang out?
Same here although the booze is a ripoff so I always bring a flask and order cheap beer.
What if I am not a regular? let's say I have this scenario: I come to the bar at an early hour so that there aren't a lot of people there and I get myself a beer. how do I strike a conversation with bartender without looking like an autist
I never try to "strike a conversation" I just wait for it to happen naturally. A good bartender won't ignore you they'll ask you where you're from or something like that.
Presumably we don't live near one another, are you anywhere near MTL?
Former bartender here. Ask them about anything. Part of their job is to socialize with customers. If you want a good opener ask them what their go-to drink is. You don't have to order it, it will break the ice and lead to other topics. Also you can always try the old "what's going on in town tonight?"
