Final scene switches to the prospective of the demon who is now human in a destroyed facility. The group of space marines turns out to be the actual demons and the demon they try hunting was Doom Guy. He exterminates them.

Its an awful idea but I think it's the only way to make a halfway decent Doom movie.

The beginning of the film highlights the troubles they face including debt to the company store. The miners have a bleak but ultimately content outlook. One day that changes when a miner dies in a collapse. This troubles John and the others, but they are nearly provoked to violence when they see a company inspector force the dead man's family from their home at gunpoint. The miners want to fight the company immediately. John stops them. He fought in a real war and doesn't want to bring death to his own family. He's seen enough killing.

Conditions in the mine worsen. Incomes are slashed and prices are raised. Miners across the county secretly plan to unionize with the rest of the coal country. The coal company adamantly and violently works against this. The miners' one real ally is Sheriff Smith, John's uncle and mentor. The company inspectors kill a union organizer from out of town at which point Sheriff Smith arrests them. On his way to the courthouse, a band of armed men kills Sheriff Smith and his company.

This angers John and his companions. They send word throughout the county to meet up at a spot to organize a strike. They'd bring guns for protection. Coal company inspectors along with hired out-of-county police prevent this from happening by opening fire on the group leading to an all out war.

John and some fellow veterans use superior tactics to defeat the company men and trap them in a courthouse until the feds arrive.

John spares the leader of the company inspectors, Mr. Rich. He regrets that when word travels to him from his home that his wife had been murdered during the fighting by Rich's men. He can't kill Mr. Rich while he's held in federal custody.
