The thong

If you could fix anything, what would you do-- Is there anything to fix?

Also, what's your favorite scifi+horror movie?

you could've told me that this was a TV alien ripoff that was universally panned and i would've believed it, but they hype it as one of the best ever

Have the halloween theme start playing at the last shot

One of my top 3 movies of all time

1. The Exorcist
2. The Tenant
3. The Thing

Nah, it's pretty much perfect as is.

I dunno if Robocop counts as sci-fi/horror but it's my favourite movie of all time anyway.

>likes old films
>The Thing is boring

Those Norwegians couldn't shoot for shit

Finding out that they originally filmed every scene with practical effects but the executives didn't like it and demanded they plaster it with CGI. It hurts man

Wouldn't have made it better desu

Is this the prequel? How is it?

bad

I think it would've been visually more impressive, but the story was kinda meh anyways

def not as good as the original in terms of horror and giving the audience a sense of unease. Lots of characters that you don't give a shit about or even know the names of-- you can argue this was a problem for the original, but the prequel does it even worse probably just to have more kills.

They use a interesting way to identify the thing (diff from the original, which is rly cool), but not a perfect method, which leads to more tension. That's one plus.

Special effects looks kinda bad. There are a few scenes towards the end with awful fucking effects.

I think it's worth a watch for fun, but it's really not that good.

Why'd you think it was boring? Was it the parts when characters were just talking and doing shit before they all got killed?

Not how anyone imagined the Norwegian base situation. It worked better when it was left to your imagination.

Kill every member of the Chinese Communist Party.

Alien.

There are a few time where the practical effects were sub par. When the thing is flopping around a dummy in the game room. Or as the head thing scurries away. Super minor details from overall some of the most excellent effects there are in movies.

You know the just released the original uncut version of that book last month?

Apparently there's a lot more to it.
