i had to fumble for the remote each new episode to skip the recap before i would hear his cringey voice that he for some reason exaggerated for that. otherwise fun show.
I like the voice a great deal. Calls to mind Schwartz in Conan the Barbarian. Also makes sure I never forget that for all the pain and suffering, this show’s still an ebic swashbuckling adventure.
>Just realized it also makes Uhtred feel like a cooler Jon Snow.
I really like it when WAHEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAEEAAAAYYYYAAAAGHEEEEYAAAAAAAHHHUHUHUHUAAAAAAAHHHEEYAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHEAAAAHHHHHHGGGGGHHHHH.
GNYAAAAYGHHHHHNAAAAHHHHGGHHHAAAYYYYHHHHOOOOHHAAAHHH
>"Are ya winning, son?"
>mom I had a nightmare
oh yeah the music is god awful
Convince me to give it another shot.
I watched 1 episode and was bored as fuck the whole time.
F U C K Y O U S A X O N
it has some great bromances.
>tfw Hild holding Uthred after he finally escapes slavery is more kino than all of GoT combined
also Aelswith is best girl
Which episode? First season was a drag sometimes but it picks up later. Just give it another go - it’s loads less boring once you’re invested.
I happen to like it because it’s a fun story with enough sword-and-sorcery sensibilities to feel endearing and enough intellect to feel genuinely cool and engaging. Being a through and through Saxon-boo since age 11, I also like its distinct Dark Age mystique, something you won’t get anywhere else.
Worst girl in show, best girl IRL. A real conundrum.
>she will never be your mommy
>being raided is part and parcel of living in a city
mayor of london
only doing what's right by God.
Guys am I retarded or is she really cute
yes she is
u got me
based
worst show ever, watched it a while back
>boring af
>mc gets a new girl every 2 episodes
>nothing makes sense
>castle in the middle of nowhere, no farms or anything
>his real father looked like a peasant, sat on shit chairs
>battles make no sense, just jump into the sea of shields and open up enemy's formation from within xDDDD
You can enjoy it if you turn off ur brain, but i cant do that.
>mc gets a new girl every 2 episodes
as if this didn’t happen back then
>nothing makes sense
>I can't turn my brain off
thank God for that my dude.
>my name is Utred son of Utred
>I was born a Dane but raised an Englishman
>my journey continues as I leave my 4th wife and, who knows how many children to starve as I search for glory
>Alfred doesn’t trust but I’ve given him no reason to
>I will once again flip my allegiance for unclear and ever elusive reasons
>destiny is all
Gyahhhhhhnaaa yahhhhh heeeyaaa naaaaasa yayayaaasss
God damn this shownis fucking great
>nothing makes sense
you sound DUMB ahahaha
Don't know how good the next season can be without Alfred.
>Convince me to give it another shot.
>I watched 1 episode and was bored as fuck the whole time.
Episodes 5-6 are like Mount & Blade.

when
based post otherwise
It can’t be you need a guy like Alfred to counter ultred’s dopey barbarian autism
They need to bring in new characters to act as the logical base for the audience to relate too
You’re retarded.
Likelihood is we’ll finally see Uhtred heading back to Bebbanburh. Should be room for plenty more characters.
Hope it’s the same deal as season 1 - Uhtred just gets to ride through Danelaw raising hell and beating bad guys, but cooler and with more tension.
Flesh+Blood with Rutger Hauer by Paul Verhoeven is underrated. It most likely heavily influence the Berserk manga.
I like that he's completely torn between two sides and you can really predict what he's going to do, because most of the time he doesn't even know what the fuck to do. some times people convince him to do something he otherwise wouldn't, or some detail forces his decisions one way.
It's really feels unique in that regard at times. A lot of shows follow a certain formula, characters are fairly rigid and you can pretty much predict generally how they'll react, what will end up happening from that reaction, and so on. But uhtred feels like an actual person with many different aspects of his personality conflicting with each other
This. Exactly why brainlets call this show “confusing”
):
>think Uhtred’s taking Skane to the river for sexy times
>actually fucking kills her
Subverted expectations better than D&D could possibly imagine
