Is it true there is a continent of lizard people?!
>Ned, I dreamt I was dying in childbirth
>Arya's face comes off, revealed to be the waif, arya died when she was stabbed in the guts like ten times.
>explains that she was sent to kill the night king, in the guise of Jon's little sister, because raising the dead is bad for assassin's business
>cersei fends off all attackers, beat back dany and jon, her and Euron look set to sit the throne
>Mark Gatiss shows up in the last five minutes with the entire force of the golden company, explains that they're here to settle the massive debts that they've accrued
>kill everyone and load the iron throne into a shipping crate for storage in the iron bank
fix'd
>End of the second to last episode
>Interior: Red Keep throne room
>Much of the ceiling has collapsed, dead bodies and rubble litter the floor
>King's Landing in total ruin, Dany went full Mad Queen
>Jon is staring at Dany's corpse on the floor, with Longclaw through her chest
>The North Remembers plays somberly in the background
>Jon collapses to his knees and weeps, mourning the person the only person in his life he loved as much as Ygritte
>"Somehow, I knew that it would end this way" he manages to choke out
>"You know nothing, Jon Snow" says a familiar voice
>Jon turns around to find the source
>It's Bran, standing before the Iron Throne without his wheelchair, staring intently at it
>"I have seen it all, Jon. Or should I call you Aegon now? I suppose it doesn't matter anymore"
>The North Remembers begins subtly transitioning to Stannis' theme
>"I have seen all of the suffering this monstrosity has inflicted upon the realm. All the pain humanity has inflicted upon this world. That is what I seek, Jon, an end to pain."
>corpses begin to rise around the throne room
>"There is no pain in death, Jon, and now this world will kneel before it's one, true king. It's time to end..."
>Bran turns to face Jon, his eyes glowing blue
>"...this Game of Thrones"
>Jon pulls Longclaw from Dany's corpse, its length now ablaze
>Jon and the Night King stare each other down as snow beings to fall from the collapsed ceiling
>cut to black
>and who
>are you
we don't talk about it
>NK dies in ep. 3
still shit
i tried so hard to work up excitement, an I genuinely was before the season started, even after the slow start. I forgave the flaws of the first 2 episodes and still thought they were alright, but the third has killed all my enthusiasm. How the fuck could anyone praise that complete and utter cluster fuck? Do these people just not pay attention to the story, or the characterization, and just go "WHOA DRAGON FLAME SO EPIC!" "WHOA THEY ALL CHARGED AND DIED EPIC MOMENT!" "WOW LYANNA SUCH A BAD BITCH XD KILLED GIANT SO EPIC!" "HOLY SHIT ARYA BADASS ASSASSIN YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!"
I hate that people like this are the majority of viewers, thus what they think and believe makes dabid and dan think there's nothing wrong with what they have done. Obviously no one around them gives them any criticism, kind of like what happened to George Lucas and the prequels.
Listen up Yea Forums, i've figured it all out.
This motherfucker is Aegon in disguise, biding his time.
He will betray Cersei and then take the iron throne in the end.
Screencap this so you all can see how right i am.
>out of my way lannister fucking shits
We already have an Aegon.
Next episode should be darker with alot of rapes and murder redeem themselves
the grieving continues
PLEASE please post a review of the long night that breaks down every detail in full about how stupid this episode was
Do you actually believe this are you retarded
Long Night should have been a whole season of darkness.
We deserved giant spiders.
Should've got some 1v1s with actual White Walkers or some avengers shit beyond the wall group fight with the core cast.
Why isn't it snowing in Kings Landing?
Here you go, this is a good summary.
youtube.com
based and danypilled
Reminder Arya LITERALLY didn't know white walkers existed until three episodes ago
/got/
not the same user
but in the books atleast GC was created by rebel targaeryns called the blackfyres
and apparently varys and that dude from bravos has been fostering their last heir (also called Aegon) to take over the iron thorne
fuck this stupid season im writing fanfiction

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED BROS
WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET THIS
>kind of like what happened to George Lucas and the prequels
Say what you want about the direction George took the prequels in, but at least all of the questionable shit he did with the plot made sense in-universe. D&D completely fucked up eight seasons and several books worth of plot and character arcs to give us the shitshow that was episode 3.
/got/
>furfags
So obviously the first major problem outside of a story standpoint is the battle tactics.
I would have had the moat further out surrounding a bigger perimeter, and the Unsullied inside the castle walls bottlenecking the openings. The Dothraki, instead of blades, would have bows. Archers on an open field with Dragon-glass tipped arrows. The walls would be covered in hot oil ready to go up in flames.
The Iron-Born would be atop the castle walls, not with Bran, providing fire from high up. They’re crack shot archers, they should be raining down from above.
Ghost would be in the crypts, protecting everyone. There was NO reason for him to be charging at ALL, he’s invaluable and is more than a pet.
Overall, better protection and less swarm, drastically cutting down casualties and wight invasion, and putting more emphasis on the Walkers themselves having to come in and fight. Would also cut down the bullshit “someone gets swarmed, cut away, cut back and they’re fine” BULLSHIT since the fighting would be more focused.
Instead of Theon, JON is in the Godswood and not on Rhaegal. He’s unskilled in dragonflight and has no business aback a dragon in a major fight when he’s always been an on foot commander and beast in martial combat. Instead, Rhaegal is performing cover fire above the Godswood leaving the Godswood untouched by wights and Walkers trying to get in.
Are you that mentally deficient?
The gap has nothing to do with work hours or how much they make in a month compared to men. It is the hourly rate they get. Two office workers in a bank, same exact duties and same exact hours. The woman gets 6% less an hour than the man.
They do that because the woman could possibly get pregnant at some time or because they deem women as more lazy than men. It doesn't matter if the woman is barren or 40 years old and already had her kids or is a lesbian or had a hysterectomy so she doesn't menstruate. It doesn't matter if she completes just as many files as her male coworker. She will still get 6% less than he does.
What you are thinking is the 20% wage gap which is about the fact that women generally work less and in jobs that don't pay as well to start with. But in those jobs men still get the 6% more..
She's so beautiful, it's like she's surrounded by a heavenly, fuzzy aura!
>half the video is just fuck
kek people actually listen to this shit
i guess it's supposed to make brainlets feel mature and smart
BRING ME MY MYRISH SWAMP BEFORE I PISS MYSELF
Mine was some Tarly boy at the battle of Summerhall. My horse took an arrow, so I was on foot, slogging through the mud. He came running at me, this dumb high-born lad, thinking he could end the rebellion with a single swing of his sword I knocked him down with a hammer, Gods, I was strong then. Caved in his breastplate. Probably shattered every rib he had. Stood over him, hammer in the air. Right before I brought it down he shouted ‘Wait! Wait!’.
Part 2 of 3
With Walkers falling in battle, we get less casualties as the bring dozens of wights down with them.
Dany and the Dothraki are the only ones outside the walls, Dany atop Drogon fighting the Night King.
Bran says, “I have to go now”. Instead of Ravens, he wargs Rhaegal and helps Dany leaving Jon to defend against Walkers that enter.
I’m not sure I’d change the library stuff with Arya and the Hound, but I’d have it more clear where Arya goes. She goes to the Godswood, and her and Jon double dragon the Walkers.
Dany falls off Drogon in similar fashion and is saved by Jorah in a much more believable fight since there are less wights. Jorah does still die.
Lyanna Mormont, instead of whatever the fuck that was the giant did, just gets crushed. Harsh but effective and reminds us what show we’re watching.
The NK descends into the Godswood, alone as his Walkers are doing the fighting with less wights available with these better tactics.
Melisandre lights the moat Gandalf-style but bursts her amulet and begins to rapidly age. She looks around helplessly, now old.
Bran in still warged into Rhaegal and Drogon is swarmed in similar fashion.
Instead of Jon being overtaken by Viserion, it’s Jaime and Brienne. Remember when Jaime charged Drogon? Well instead of REEEEEING at Viserion, Jaime takes charge and slays Viserion to save Brienne. Tormund slays the giant that killed Lyanna.
The NK raises his arms to taunt Jon and phase 2 begins. The crypts come alive, but instead of plot armor shenanigans we lose Gilly and Missendei.
What I mean is that D&D are so full of themselves, they're narcissists that think because GoT became such a big show that they're geniuses and their shit doesn't stink, therefore they won't take any criticism of their work seriously and brush everything off.
Old Nan is a dumb cunt.
thats called beauty fuzz
same as that 45 minute critique people were posting yesterday
"fuck this fucking fuck fuck fuck why the fuck oh fuck for fucks sake bla bla bla"
Part 3 of 3
We get a 1 v 1 with the NK and Jon (Arya conspicuously missing). Jon is completely outclassed. He’s getting thrown around trying to get the NK to avoid Bran.
Arya lunges from her hiding spot and is caught by the Night King, who, instead of just standing there, uses Aryas momentum and stabs Bran in one move using Aryas hand. Aryas mortified, Jons mortified, and the Night Kings chokehold grasp starts turning Arya blue like Crasters babys. He looks dead at Jon.
And here’s where it gets a little fanservicey but bear with me.
So far we’ve lost Gilly, Missendei, Jorah, Lyanna, Edd, Theon and Bran.
The Night King drops Arya and she lunges at Jon who is forced to run her through with Longclaw. He’s stunned, but as he loosens the blade we cut to Melisandre looking up suddenly chanting enthusiastically. From the Godswood a flame shoots up to the sky, piercing the darkness.
It’s Lightbringer. The Night King draws his blade, and we get the real 1 v 1, with Jon ending the Long Night with a now enflamed Longclaw.
Melisandre smiles and fades to dust.
Casualties are:
Gilly, Missendei, Jorah, Lyanna, Edd, Theon, Melisandre, Bran and Arya along with countless others.
Jon fulfills Azor Ahai. The 3 Eyed Raven is dead meaning they can’t utilize him to deal with Cersei. We get more serious deaths then the Red Wedding, and the NK is shown to be formidable.
Thoughts?
You're fucking stupid if you think women everywhere get paid 6% less than men everywhere. It's an average that has not yet fully been accounted for, and it's negligible for most women.
That is so cute, and yet sexy too.
The 6% is the skill difference between men and women that favors men in the majority of jobs.
It's funny that you think that 6% would hold universally for all jobs though. Jobs that men are naturally better at would skew that number upwards, as in any job that requires manual labor of any kind.
How many stags?
all women should be arrested
Ser Pounce is the pussy that was promised.
>it has cussword, must be dumb!
Takes a brainlet to know a brainlet.
Fuck fuck fuck, fuck fuck, fuckfuck; fuck fuck fuck!
copious swearing makes ones arguments seem emotionally charged, thus making one seem juvenile
Three more episodes until we're free....
>themes are for eighth-grade book reports
A-are they right anons?
Have i been childish for enjoying stories like LotR?
Do I need to grow up and mature so I can enjoy the adult writing of GoT?
We'll never be free user. The Long Night is only just beginning.
shocks and twists >>> themes and ideas
>free
>binges GoT all over again
I fucking hate Benioff
Once upon a time, Eddard Stark ate Rickon Stark
So, they like, cut off people's faces and wear them, and that turns them into that person totally, their entire body, voice, everything, and they carry bags full of dead faces around just in case they need them, and they are also super-human martial artists and can fight blind
Good one, user!
>Makes it SEEM
What a useless post with no substance.
>Tales of Dunk and Egg, Age of Heroes, Doom of Valyria series come out
this post has zero substance lol
i was talking about how the moron said one word over 40 times in the first minute
go watch some videogamedunkey, you retard
all furfags yiff in hell
So what's the obvious switcharoo "it was real in my mind" moment is going to be?
three weeks
three weeks until TWOW is announced
>Dunk is now a woman
>they just get Gwen to play her ancestor
badass, right?
>they are all shit
um no sweety
>retard
Heh, you said a bad word, now you are the moron!
in the show
in the books it will be a glamour sort of thing
>tfw remembering all the earnest celebration, the dance threads even, when Ros died
where did it all go bros?
how the hell do you grow up enjoying shit like LOTR and GoT but also hate themes?
>ruined eternally
Egg would be a black trans jew
Rick Moranis looks like THAT now!?!?
everyone complains about wasting 8 seasons of buildup for the white walkers, but what about the 8 seasons wasted on the dothraki do absolutely nothing but eat a bunch of food and die in 60 seconds
So this means that Cersei is an actual master planner? Jaimie don't need to be pissed off about the Lannister army going north since it wasn't needed at all right?
The entirety of season 8 should’ve been the long night and then have another season after
Why are they in such a rush to end such an enormous cash cow?
>Episode 5 (where the supposed huge battle between cersei and Jon/Dany is taking place)
>Battle is over
>Good guys won
>Bran wheels out to the battlefield
>stands up out of his wheel chair
>raises his arms
>the dead soldiers start rising
>all of a sudden we see bran start to get blue...
>NightKing.png
>they march towards kings landing
>end of episode 5
only way this show can be saved at this point
For D&D, GoT is a trampoline to better more prestigious projects.
>lannister army could have marched head into an army of the dead with no plan
>or stayed back at king's landing drinking hot cocoa
cersei unironically deserves to win
dany, the moron who let her entire army march to their deaths, does not
>dunk is played by some random 5'9" dude
that or Cersei killing everyone
I COULD HAVE DIED 1v1ing the NIGHT KING AND APPEAR TO ACTUALLY BE WINING BUT GET STABBED BY A WALKER FROM BEHIND, BUT NO YOU HAD ME DIED IN AN ALLEY WITH ABUNCH OF FILIPINOS WITH BALISONGS
They wasted everything. Prophecies, build up, character development. It's all wasted.
AZOR JON
KINGINDANORF
>implying that if he'd made it to the battle of winterfell he'd die in it
nah, he'd get surrounded by 50 wights and then they'd cut away, and he'd be surrounded by 5 when they cut back
>WHY WERE THE TREBUCHETS ON THE FRONT LINE
WHERE DID MELISANDRE COME FROM
>WHY DID THE DOTHRAKI CHARGE HALF A MILE INTO BATTLE
HOW DID THEY GET BACK ON FOOT AT THE SAME TIME AS THEIR HORSES
>WHY DIDN'T THEY OPEN WITH THE DRAGONS
WHY DIDN'T THEY USE FIRE TO FUNNEL THE HORDE
>WHY WERE THE FORMATIONS SO SHIT
WHY WERE THEY RELYING ON DRAGONS TO SET FIRE TO THE TRENCH
>WHAT WAS DAENERYS DOING FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE BLIZZARD
WHY DID JON JUST SIT ON THE WALL FOR HALF AN HOUR
>WHY DIDN'T THEY USE THE DRAGONS TO BURN THE UNDEAD WHILE THE GATES WERE CLOSED
WHY DID BRAN WARG INTO THE CROWS AND THEN DO NOTHING
>WHAT WAS BRAN WARGING FOR 60 MINUTES
WHY DIDN'T THEON AND HIS MEN HAVE A SWORD
>DID ARYA SERIOUSLY HAVE A SPECIAL STAFF MADE WHEN SHE COULD HAVE JUST USED ONE OF THE UNSULLIED'S
WHAT WAS THE POINT OF HER ENTIRE SCENE IN THE LIBRARY
>WHY WAS THERE NO SOUND FROM THE BATTLE OUTSIDE
WHY DID SHE REALISE HER BLOOD WAS MAKING NOISE AND NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT
>WHY IS SHE CONSIDERED STEALTHY BITCH BUT FOUND SNEAKING AROUND A LIBRARY DIFFICULT
WHY WAS ONE GIANT LEFT STANDING JUST TO KILL LYANNA
>WHY DID IT PICK HER UP AND STARE AT HER BEFORE KILLING HER
WHY DIDN'T SHE LITERALLY JUST TOUCH THE GIANT'S HAND WITH HER AXE TO KILL IT
>WHY DID NO-ONE ELSE EVEN SHOOT AN ARROW AT IT
WHY DID DAENERYS AND DROGON SIT ON THE BATTLEFIELD WHILE ALL THE ZOMBIES WERE GETTING ONTO THEM
>WHY DIDN'T DROGON BREATHE FIRE ON HER AFTER HE KNOCKED HER DOWN
HOW DID SHE MANAGE TO HOLD HER OWN DESPITE NO EXPERIENCE WIELDING A SWORD
>WHY DID THE CRYPT STARKS DO LITERALLY NOTHING AND HOW WERE SO MANY PEOPLE ABLE TO HIDE FROM THEM
WHY THE FUCK DID THEON LEEROY JENKINS THE NIGHT KING
>WHY IS THE NIGHT KING SUCH A JOBBER THAT HE DIDN'T REACT AT ALL TO ARYA'S KNIFE TRICK
WHY DOES HE HAVE A CONVENIENTLY PLACED HOLE IN HIS ARMOR
>WHY ARE THE WHITE WALKER COMMANDERS SUCH JOBBERS THAT THEY DIDN'T NOTICE ARYA UNTIL SHE WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THEM
WHY DIDN'T THEY REACT WHEN THEY DID NOTICE
D&D killed him because they coudn't stand the sight of another old white male
They literally said this
>be D&D
>show is praised and extremely successful
>but all the acknowledgements go to GRRM and cast
>dabble in some original scenes, some great (Tywin x Jaime / Arya) Hardhome some terrible (shirtless Ramsay) Dorne adventures
>season 6 rolls around and you’re starting to reach end of books so they can finally start making their own
>suddenly people are critiquing the writing
>an entire website spends days in and out mocking you
>get budget for final season
>fucking ruin it just to spite the bullies
>doesn’t matter got paid
Never bully nerds, guys, especially not Jewish ones
A Song of Wasted Potential
what is ser subverted of house expectations' relationship with ser twenty goodmen?
What are the chances of any of these prequels being good? I'd say about 30%
>Tfw get ignored
>implying shirtless Ramsay wasn't pure kino
Dnd will not answer any of this
Twenty is a vassal of the Expectationses
Subverted took Ten Goodmen (Twenty's son, famed for impregnating Lysa Arryn) as his ward
Ser twenty’s father lord tens bastard through Ashara Dayne, he used climbing spikes to impregnate the bitch
I think they stopped reading online reviews after season 1. Some die hard book fans actually hated that season and flamed them quite hard. After that, they started to ignore all the criticism
I read it brah, pretty good stuff. Anything that gives an actual tense battle instead of "villain wins effortlessly then dies lol" is better than what we got.
PLEASE give me some more fucking tits... I need it DABID PLEASE... Come on now you fucking faggots where are the goddamn TITS?!
please don't swear, it made you look
goblina will get her tits out next episode in celebration of her slaying the night king
What date the teams that matter start playing msi?
Why is shirtless ramsay such a big deal in these threads? I never saw anyone who complained about that scene until i started to visit /got/ threads.
The red keep is getting destroyed and no one gets to sit on the throne
This summaries the problem:
Here
he killed a ton of experienced and armoured soldiers when all they had to do was poke him
arya will kill cersei as well. it's her job to kill all interesting characters unceremoniously.
DnD are faggots. They both literally have lisps and cocksucker lips, like Jeffrey Dahmer had.
Can't wait till they go to hell
yeah it fucking really fucking summarises the fucking problem
You didn't think it was cringe?
But they're white themselves? Why haven't they removed themselves from the show?
Much better than the dumpster fire we got
They’re Jews, they have an eternal free card
Azor Martin will save us from the Long Night brought by the show.
>maulgay
So, when Maisie Williams read the script for season 8 and saw that Arya was to kill the Night King, she didn't like it. She thought that Jon should be the one to do it. It's fucking sad how even the actors are disappointed in this shit. I can't imagine how Kit feels. Spending more than eight years of your life playing the same character, and suddenly your character arc is completely BTFO by SUBVERTED EXPECTATIONS.
Holy shit, it makes sense. Azor Ahai had to sacrifice the one he loved just like grrm had to sacrifice his work to D&D
Just a bit , not as cringy as yara fleeing from a bunch of dogs
WHAT WAS BRAN DOING
I'm tired /got/...
was up last night imagining good screenwriters watching game of thrones and telling each other how shit d&d are and not inviting them to their screenwriter parties
felt good
BENEATH THE GOLD, THE BITTER STEEL
HAIL KING AEGON, SIXTH OF HIS NAME
Or Alfie Allen, who had not only read the books, but he was told by Martin how they will end. Imagine his reaction when he saw S8 scripts.
He should literally have like 5 soulstones
Watching Ramsay destroy Sansa's pussy
Same , tired of living
>Jon and NK 1v1
>battle is evenly matched until Jon lands a supposed decisive blow with Longclaw
>NK doesnt turn to ice and shatter and instead smiles and smacks jon around
>Jon deduces that it would take more than valyrian steel to kill the NK and might need Dragon fire
>NK and Jon meet blows and NK has the upper hand even moments away from killing Jon
>Dany lands with Drogon and looks in worry and despair on Jon
>Jon lands a stab on the Night King, pinning him and gives her a nod to just "do it", planning to take the NK with him with Dragonfire
>Jon lands another blow just as Dany engulfs both Jon and NK in dragonfire
>NK is defeated
>Jon is revealed to be unharmed by the fire with Longclaw still on fire
>Dany is threatened and convinced that Jon is indeed the last dragon's son
Shirtless ramsay is the scene as a whple, both about how "the best" irinborn soldiers cant kill a naked bastard, take no for an answet from theon, and then get spooked by some dogs
Watching Sansa get raped one last time.
>people think George will save them
The guy can’t even close a battle sequence, every time there’s a large battle it ends with the POV character blacking out / it’s not told at all and just commented upon after the fact
hundreds of minutes of screen time turning him into the only human psychic force on Earth who might be able to mcguffin the night king
>but literally became so powerful he was able to warg your expectations
He just sits there and watches porn all day
No, that whole Targ fire immunity is dumb anyways. Also dumb for The Night King. Valyrian steel can somehow kill him, but not what makes Valryian steel special. Stupid.
What other actors have read the books? I know the actor who plays barristan did and that's why he was so pissed off at his character dying.
why did mel not even try and revive beric
actors who read all the books after getting the role:
>jon
>brienne
>osha
>ygritte
>meera
>littlefinger
>robert
actors who read the books season-by-season:
>daenerys
>missandei
actors who had already read the books:
>rodrik cassel
>barristan
>loras
>viserys
>blackfish
actors who only read their chapters:
>jaime
>sansa
>catelyn
>oberyn
actors who read "a few" books:
>gendry
>theon
>the hound
>samwell
actors whose parents have read the books:
>arya
>hodor
>robb
>cersei
actors who read a single book:
>jorah
>eddard
>tywin
actors who have emphatically never read the books:
>tyrion
>melisandre
>davos
>stannis
>gilly
>margaery
>varys
God, I can't imagine how he must have felt when he read that his character dies retard rushing the NK
Beneath the gold, the bitter feel
I know Sean Bean was reading the first book as they filmed, which amused the cast.
When did you guys realize the show was gonna suck? For me it was around 5 minutes into the prologue when they ruined white walkers for the rest of the series
It was the LoL, she had no power in the first place. He served his purpose.
Seem to be forgetting...
>Aegon's Conquest
>Dance of the Dragons
>First Blackfyre Rebellion
>Robert's Rebellion
>Nymeria's conquest of Dorne (#YesSheCan)
Iirc, Finn Jones (Loras) was quite mad as well when he saw S5 scripts.
But how did she know that without trying?
Test
who tf is duncan egg?
Jon burned his hand saving Jeor Mormont from that wight. He doesn't have the immunity that Dany has.
Yeah, I knew the show wouldn't live up to it quite right after the first ep. That said, many of the actors did such a good job I can't picture the characters any different.
Homeless Harry will get no more dialogue before his death scene, calling it now. The GC are just meat for CGI battle number 32.
no one knows, he got ressed by fire lord after all
She was just tired and noped out.
Emilia Clarke doesn’t get enough credit for playing Dany
I think she perfectly captured how flat and dull she is for the entire mereen arc
Yeah, pretty much all of the main cast own their characters now.
pretty sure there's been povs for most of the battles, only blackout I can think off is tyrion at the green fork, even then it showed much more than the show did before he got knocked unconscious
And winterfell used to have hills are you really expecting consistency from these hacks?
Targs aren't immune to fire, many have died from fire. Dany being immune to fire is a meme made up by the show
Why did she genocide the Freys? The waif was no one, Arya failed the test deliberately. Arya uses Jaqen's training for her own ambitions.
Aegons conquest would be pretty boring outside of like 3 scenes, the field of fire, the burning of harrenhal and the forging of the iron throne, which would still look pretty stupid on tv since the show throne looks super organized and impractical to set up with dragon fire where as the actual throne is just a heap of swords
Yeah, but the show is what we are talking about m8.
How did they manage to make Winterfell look better than it does now back when they had a shoestring budget?
Would be based
he really loves copying Tolkien
Is Night King a targ? He can ride a dragon and immune to fire
damn dinklage is a lazy fuck
>rodrik cassel
>barristan
>loras
>viserys
>blackfish
I feel so bad for all of them. Imagine being casted into a book series you like and then see it turn into a total dumpster fire.
the sun
>Who was your favorite non-POV character to adapt from the books?
>D&D: Sam.
Not the OP but maybe someone else put a Faceless Men contract on the Freys. Or Maybe it was just residual Arya memories that compelled the Waif to do it. Or maybe it's because every Face gets free revenge for being used by the Faceless Men.
That place must fucking suck to live in during summer, millions of mosquitos
I sincerely hope that’s the backside or the castle, because according to s8 the godswoos is on the left (when facing the entrance
King's Landing also looked great in the first season. Somehow all the most disappointing setting appearances, namely Highgarden and Casterly Rock, came at the peak of the show's popularity and income.
At least Viserys died in season one true to the books rather than some anime-original-ending-tier horseshit
This pisses me off so much, why would you not read them to get a better feel for the character. They only take a few days if you do the audiobook on 2x speed, it's not like they have to know them in-and-out to write a university thesis.
Yes. Ned was actually a virgin due to muh honor and all the kids are actually targ bastards
those were some of most perfectly cast and acted characters too, viserys and blackfish especially stole the show every time they were on screen
...Targs aren't immune to fire in the show either, just dany for whatever reason.
Why Viserys? It played out almost exactly the same.
This just confirms they never read the books past Clash of the Kings. Fucking hacks
and i feel like he should be proud of the part he did
oh no
Targs are not immune to fire damn it, not even in the show, just dany.
Yeah, I know. I explicitly stated that when I said that Jon got burned all the way back in season 1 during that first fight with the wight.
Because he actively elevated the character with his performance all to achieve nothing in the end
Because otherwise, her cover as Arya would be blown. She completed Arya's quest and justified her returning to Westeros
AFFC is the worst book, but yeah it shows. Euron is the biggest fuck up possible from book to show.
Nobody, not even the writers care about consistency at this point so why bother defending the "Targs arent immune to fire" shitstill?
>Do these people just not pay attention to the story, or the characterization, and just go "WHOA DRAGON FLAME SO EPIC!" "WHOA THEY ALL CHARGED AND DIED EPIC MOMENT!" "WOW LYANNA SUCH A BAD BITCH XD KILLED GIANT SO EPIC!" "HOLY SHIT ARYA BADASS ASSASSIN YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!"
That's exactly what normies do. Browse Twitter or Instagram.
Yep. They say you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, but apparently you can go the other way just fine.
At least he's remembered fondly though. The ending doesn't suddenly make his contributions suck.
did alys karstark's rack survive episode 3
Theon's sister came to Winterfell with 50 of the best swordsmen of her islands and all it took was shirtless Ramsay getting 3 dogs out of a cage to make them flee. And he did it very very slowly. It was just stupid.
>Cersei chapters
>Arya chapters
>Jaime chapters
Opinion discarded
>"WHOA THEY ALL CHARGED AND DIED EPIC MOMENT!"
it was a pretty epic moment
>actors who read the books beforehand were universally god tier
>actors who read all or most of the books are generally above average with a few bad apples
>actors who used them to get in character are great
>actors who read either one or none of the books vary from god tier to utter garbage
Interesting.
Stephen Dillane delivered top-tier Stannis despite not reading the books AND D&D raping his character due to inherently being unable to understand a character who puts his duty and principles first.
>Unsullied training begins when the boys are five years old: some were selected to be Unsullied as infants and castrated then, though any slave boy up to the age of five may be later selected to be made into an Unsullied, and then castrated. For over a decade until they are full-grown, they train from dawn to dusk until they have mastered the shortsword, shield, and three lengths of spear, as well as their training to fight together as organized phalanxes. The training regimen is utterly brutal, and because of this, only one out of every four boys survives until the end.
And Samwell fucking Tarly somehow survived
Uh, that doesn't make up for the lack of Jon, Dany, Tyrion. It's a fine book, but probably the worst still. How would you order from best to worst?
>an entire book without Dany chapters
I was so happy then
Of course, but it's still sad that Harry Lloyd gave his best for that character, not just matching the book but elevating the character, when the guys in charge won't put that same love and effort in. Making a show is an art and Lloyd cares about this art as a ASOIAF fan (narrates the Dunk and Egg books on Audible). If you want your art to be truly great it must sting to see others turn it into shit.
>castrated
Low test basedboys
No wonder they’ve literally failed at everything theyve done
Honestly, the show as a whole has fucked the Unsullied over since the start. Despite them being more harshly trained than practically anybody else in existence, they are consistently fodder during battles that get their ass kicked repeatedly and only triumph because of their numbers over the enemy's.
It's still gonna be lauded as the GoaT. That almost makes it hurt more.
Jaun Snow
Whichever one has the most Dany or Sansa chapters (after kL) chapters
>littlefinger

Dillane honestly feels so natural as Stannis it's hard to imagine anyone else. Being a classically trained actor and experienced in roles as a stern but ultimately principled figure, the man could've read every book cover to cover or none of them at it'd only make a minor difference. It's amazing what he did with some of the shit he was given.
It's the Worf Effect, but applied to an entire army
mel should've got her tits out to increase moral, not done this fire shit
This, them fighting with long spears only kinda fucks them over
It literally wasn't.
>giving Dothraki bows with Dragon-glass tipped arrows
>not even considering how long it would take to equip the entire dothraki army
>not even considering how long it would take to equip the entire dothraki armi with only 5 arrows each
stopped reading here
stop being EQUALLY retarded as dabid and his tranny dickface
This part makes no sense anyways like its completely counter productive when you want them to be the best fighters I guess they think there formations and dexterity is enough? Why not leave the balls so they can continue to produce test and cut the dick like ramsey did to theon
Obviously it's possible for great actors to pull off a good performance either way, it would just help lesser actors do a better job overall.
That's literally everything I was thinking while watcing it
Why didn’t they have the dragons make more obsidian and cake the walls with it
this show has jumped the shark
Stephen Dillane was a fucking treasure. Dungeons and Dragons tried making Stannis out to be worse than Hitler, yet he still managed to make him seem more like a tragic hero
Why didn’t they just put Bran in a spikey dragonglass cage
>castrating your slave soldiers
>abusing and breaking them utterly with no incentives
>light armour, small shields and short spears, despite being heavily inspired by greek hoplites who wore heavy armour relative to their time period and made use of heavy spears and metal plated shields
By all rights the Unsullied and Dothraki should have their shit kicked in by any organized fighting force in Westeros or the Free Cities. What was GURM thinking?
They had a fuck ton more of it already anyway. You can see piles upon piles of it in the scenes with Gendry forging.
Why didn't they just not bother capturing the wight then they would never have got a dragon and never got past the wall and they could have just ignored them until it was summer again
Stannis becomes more willing to "play the game" over time rather than expect everyone to do what he says all the time. Would have been amazing to see Dillane portray Stannis' evolution on screen. Could you imagine a book accurate Theon I TWoW? Pure kino
why didn't they just scatter obsidian caltrops throughout the Godswood
Didn't the Targaryen army set up an obsidian industry as soon as they arrived in Westeros, beginning of season 7?
And even if equipping the dothraki with millions of obsidian arrows was unrealistic, they could have ground dragonglass into obsidian powder, loaded it on dragons and crows, and spread it on the white walkers from the air, like a WW1 gas attack. There were SO MANY options for the Winterfell defenders, it's stupid.
imagine the butthurt if that was how they defeated the night king
They would’ve gotten through either way because bran passed the wall, and it got Azor Jaime to go north. But then they decided against that plot
How much is the discrepancy between right handed and left handed people? Surely there most be one.
>actors who had already read the books
>Barristan, Blackfish
lmao the two worst most disrespectful deaths in the show, pure pottery
I know in the books Stannis sends word for Rolland Storm to start mining it all the way back in ASoS when Stannis is at the Wall. Can't remember if he does in the show or not. But if he did that must be months and months ago
would have been better than fucking Arya shadowstepping past an entire line of White Walkers into a 25 foot long jump to YEET the NK out of the plot
So then ultimately bran going north in the first place and getting marked was the root cause of the threat
The entire dragonglass subplot was ultimately pointless because it only instagibs white walkers and the night king was killed by valerian steel. If anything equipping your army with shitty rock weapons probably lead to even more casualties
Stannis says there’s mines full of it to Jon in s5
>the doom of valyria was actually just some dude farting
*BRAAAAAAAAAAAAP*
55 NIGHTS
>tfw you realize westeros would be better off if bran died from the fall
Hint hint, 3ER is evil, bran doesn’t realize until he’s south of the wall. At which point he’s basically a vegetable and consumed by the raven
Wasn't it at the dreadfort?
>Hodor would never have seized out and retardified
just
First True Detective Season 3 now GOT. I
I'm so fucking tired of having my expectations subverted
Has anyone read Fire and Blood? If you're a Blackcuck you need to get off my board
>just surround the battlefield with dragonglass caltrops
>nobody dies
Ez
Also
>wights in previous seasons burst into flame by barely grazing fire
>in this episode they use their bodies to put out pyres
but that makes a paradox, because hodor being hodor means it has to happen
Considering how disgruntled he was with D&D's direction in the first place, if he read the books that interview would probably have him frothing at the mouth instead.
>hodor was a spaz his entire life just to hold a door for Bran for 20 seconds then get eaten by zombies
FUCK
In the books the 3 eyed crow and bloodraven are very possibly very different entities. The show just combined them into 3ER and made up their own fanfiction.
>littlefinger would still be alive
Only watched the first season of true detective , what happen at the 3rd?
are there any tv shows that have a good ending? I seriously can't think of any
This theory is almost certainly true, I'd bet my life on it
>beric had to endure being violently killed repeatedly just to hold a doorway for Arya for 10 seconds and get pincushioned by zombies
Holy Fuck everything he said is true. Absolutely savage. TFW I lived to see everything I liked crash and burn
3ER whispered in jaimes ear to push him out the window so that bran didn’t go south, “crows are all liars” old nan said to bran after this first dream
Jaime is going to kill bran in the end, the Azor Ahai prophecy is killing bran /3 ER in the gods eye, not the night king (puppet that broke loose)
blackadder goes forth
>In the books the 3 eyed crow and bloodraven are very possibly very different entities.
To be fair, the book does "claim" that Bloodraven is the three-eyed-crow. If he's revealed to be an imposter, the show could still do that too.
Never trust a fookin Stark m8
Breaking bad
>mfw Sansa not killing Littlefinger
this is what we should've gotten youtube.com
>Hodoor and Bericade
pottery
The show could, but ehhh, that ship has kinda sailed I feel like. Bran becoming the new NK or something might happen.
:(
The nk is the real three eyed raven. Raising dead is just advanced warging
Hodor is the key to all of this
Actually he never claims to be the 3EC. Bran asks him something like "You're the Three-Eyed Crow?" and Bloodraven is like "Crow? I was a crow once..." etc. but is clearly talking about being in the Watch. The CotF call him the Last Greenseer. The books also mention the difference between ravens and crows a number of times. Bran has a lot of different dreams, it's likely that Bloodraven is the weirwood that talks to him while the crow is something else. They aren't two forms of Bloodraven since they appear together at one point. Tree dreams and crow dreams have different messages and Bran is only afraid of the crow ones, calls them nightmares. Also Euron seems to have had crow dreams but that's a whole other story.
>dreadfort
Who's holding it anyway? Bolton loyalists? A Stark garrison? White walkers?
e3 was stylistically designed to be this way, but can they diminish the effects of it?
yeah crows are almost always a bad thing in the books, aside from the Night's Watch.
Probably Stark loyalists that retreated to Winterfell before the Battle of Winterfell.
Yes please
The term crow for the Watch is literally an insult from the Wildlings too, so even though the Watch are good saying crow is still a negative thing
All battles where a POV is around:
>Green Fork: shown in its entirety
>Whispering Wood/Camps: told about, couldn't really expect Catelyn to go out in the middle of the battle
>Blackwater: Tyrion passes out only after three full chapters of battle
>Winterfell: Theon gets punched out as the Boltons turn on his handful of men, but the battle against Ser Rodrik is already done
>Meereen: told about, once again Dany isn't really a fighter
>Castle Black: shown in its entirety, from the wildling raid to the siege to Stannis' arrival and Mance being routed
>Shield Islands: begins in medias res, then shown
>Deepwood Motte: Asha passes out after a while
>Winterfell: who knows, but there are two POVs around
>Meereen: seems to be shown in its entirety from what we know
Seems to me like you're full of shit.
Bran and Gendry and Rickon and Joffrey and Tommen and Jojen and Dickon and Lancel are so handsome.
Eddard ate Rickon
Bran ate Jojen
Literally 8/10 of your examples prove that user was right tho
>blacks out
>blacks out

It hurts
r/freefolk is fucking gay. I got called a "kneeler" for criticizing the last episode. I thought that sub was supposed to be a redpilled alternative to the main one but it's just another circlejerk
What was even the point of introducing the concept of time travel if they are not going to use is? Or are they going to use it to defeat fucking Cersei when they didn't need it for the NK?
yeah, go to r/asoiaf
You could ask the same thing about literally every castle in the realm desu. We just have to accept that no houses are significant enough to warrant appearing in the show aside from dumb child lords/ladies in the North.
>No Reacher Lords are resisting Cersei even though they only sacked Highgarden
>No Westermen interacting with Cersei even though they probably lead her armies
>No Ironborn lords Euron has to politic with
>Bronze Yohn probably has the 2nd most men in the North, maybe 1st now after huge Dothraki casualties, yet the Vale lords/Bronze Yohn are background characters at best
>Dorne literally just gave up and went home apparently
>Storm Lords absent for all 8 seasons
they wanted the hodor moment, but they don't want any of the other bran moments because they're not epic emotional shocking moments so they cut them all out to make a beeline for the conclusion
They gotta use it. All the signs are pointing towards Bran orchestrating all the events in the end. It fits with that whole bitterwseet ending George has promised because Bran will have to allow his fall and family to be murdered, along with all the other fucked up shit that has happened, because it's the best case scenario.
There's no such thing as redpilled on Reddit.
You mentioned Winterfell and Meereen from TWoW. Winterfell will likely be a separate battle from the Battle at the Crofter's Village. There will also be a battle at Storm's End, and Euron will fight a naval battle against the Redwyne Fleet.
Two battles told about where the character has no reason to be on the field and in fact it makes more sense for them to remain behind, one where the character gets knocked out AFTER the actual fight and, yeah, a grand total of two where they get knocked out during the final stages. If that's proof, fine.
good one, r/tv
do you really think d&d care about what george had in mind?
ye r/asoiaf is leagues better than the minge subordinates over at freefolk
r/freefolk doesn't like the new episode, the most upvoted post in their history is a meme criticizing it, it has 98k upvotes
In the Oxford Union interview, Sam's actor said he didn't read the books because he wanted to be surprised at what would happen to Sam when he read the script. In the same interview Kit said he read them all because it was the source material and he wanted to get a better idea on who Jon was and out how to approach the role. Different strokes and all that.
What more is there to know about the Blackwater or Winterfell? Deepwood Motte Asha is captured, would you rather there were two extra pages of her awake being tied up by some random Wull guys?
no, probably not, but there are still hints in the show. Like it cutting to Bran after Varys and the Red Priestess' conversation about what he heard in the flames. The Mad King flashback, the tower of Joy scene with Ned hearing Bran, ect. I think it's gonna be the big final twist (that fans have been calling for years). I can't imagine Bran has much to do, besides warg into a dragon.
Why does being surprised at a script make your acting better? I just see no reason to not read your source material, you're being payed maybe millions of dollars and yet you don't even bother to read it over out of some small shred of respect for George making you all that money.
based kit
Some actors don't want to overthink it. They just want to roll with a natural reaction in the moment.
Because Winterfell and the Red Keep are 3D models since they are reoccuring places, while Highgarden and Casterly Rock are only shown once in an establishing shot and are just photoshopped.
Not to mention, if you're playing a viewpoint character, I can't see why you wouldn't want to read the books. I've seen how D&D's scripts look, they read like reddit posts with jokes littered in the stage directions and never delve into anything about how the character feels or how the actor should play their lines, while the books give you all of that. You'd be doing a disservice to not read the books and actually get to know the core of the character.
what the night king needed to capture winterfell
>hundred thousand undead and undead giants and other united forces of darkness
>undead dragon
what Theon needed to capture winterfell
>twenty good men
gee its as if winterfell was abandoned because everyone went to fight for robb and theon took advantage of the situation and that's precisely why the were able to take it
I hate this episode too user but don't be a fucking moron
Winterfell was largely abandoned when Theon captured it though.
This millisecond I will remind them
If you think there will be a last minute twist about bran being evil you are literally shitting yourself with delusion. There's only three episodes left and each one will focus on build up to kings landing confrontation, the battle itself, and epilogue. There is no reason to believe D&D have written anything that strays from this basic template. Think about it logically and realize it's the truth, the Battle for Winterfell sucked not because it's a huge misdirection, but because it seemed cool in their heads.
Yeah exactly. It just baffles me. Peter Dinklage sitting there like
>Whelp, this show has made me a household name, payed me millions,
and landed me film roles. I'm a very important character with an important emotional character arc. Hmmm, I have a six months between the season release press tour and filming the next season. How about I read my chapters from the book? It's popular enough to warrant this series being made, so it must at least be decent material, and I owe much of my success to its existence, AND I'd better understand my character, AND it would only take a few days to read, perhaps on planes between press tours or read on Audible by a fellow cast member who I shared screentime with. Oh whatever, fuck it, I'll actively not read it FOR EIGHT YEARS because who really cares.
>The Night King brings his twenty good white walkers along with some zombie dogs to fuck up the humans.
ok but why did the night king have to be the one to kill bran when he has entire army and a bunch of white walkers who could just as easily do it without him needing to risk his life
Reminder that ASOIAF will never finish, and this
trash show is the closest we will ever get to an ending
>Bronze Yohn is literally one of the biggest military powers in Westeros right now
>the Golden Company are likely going to be background characters
>no kino tension with Euron manipulating the Ironborn lords and the Drumms and Harlaws resisting
>Dorne doesn't exist
>Stormlands don't exist, literally the only character still around from there is Brienne now Beric's dead
>Westerlands don't have a huge power vacuum after the deaths of Lannister enforcers like the Cleganes
what the fuck happened
>hilarious, they think we'd actually explain stuff
The books are trash anyway, best that this series is forgotten as early as possible.
Because he was a well-known narcissist, as set up by the long hours of character development he had. Unfortunately they were all deleted scenes on the Blu-Ray boxsets so only real fans would understand.
Autism.
They should have just made it so the first 3 eyed raven being the one who commanded the creation of NK. Hence why he is so driven by vengeance to completely kill him once and for all.
>tfw D&D upon hearing how ASOIAF ended from GRRM decided that the ending was too good for them to spoil in their show, so they took a different course and left the core mysteries unresolved and made the conclusion anticlimactic so that people can experience the true ending unspoiled when the books release
BASED

The Ironborn in the show are fucking shit tier incompetents compared to the books. The entirety of the secondary cast of the later books just don't appear it seems, need to pay le quippy dwarf his extra million and add in more dragons I guess.
>Her cunt became the world
Adapting Stannis' men from ADwD would be pure kino. Imagine the uproar over Ser Clayton Suggs calling Asha a cunt over and over and her being able to do literally nothing about it but seethe.
>want strong warruors
>chop off their testosterone producers before they even hit puberty
oof
Season 3 of true detective was great and worlds better than season 2. It had brought some qaulity suspense and spookiness back to the show and potrayed dementia/alzheimers well.
Maybe the next ep will show what Bran was doing. Perhaps he alters events to ensure Arya turns up.
yes it's pretty neat shit
