Will Game of Thrones now be known as something which should have been GOAT and fucked that up because crowd-pleasing and fan-service and THE GOOD GUYS WINNING was more important?

The Long Night would have been Kino had they gone ahead and KILLED EVERYONE LIKE WE WERE PROMISED BECAUSE THE WHITE WALKERS AND THE NIGHT KING ARE THE LITERAL APOCALYPSE.

Honestly. During the episode I thought I was seeing something iconic because WINTERFELL WAS FUCKED AND IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO WIN BECAUSE WHAT DID YOU THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN WE'VE BEEN TOLD FOR TEN YEARS THAT EVERYONE IS FUCKED and instead it's somehow better for Arya "Mary Sue" Stark to stop them? Urgh...

Fornicate

WHY IS DVERYOND DRESWS THE SAME AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I don't watch GoT

Why is everyone so mad about the last episode?

Night King should've totally won. His death was fucking stupid and Arya is a total Mary Sue. There is no fucking way she ran past his entire posse and nobody saw her or stopped her. I'm still pissed.

Imagine if Ginny Weasley killed Voldemort in the 5th Harry Potter book by teleporting behind him, or if Samwise fought Sauron in single combat and killed him in the Two Towers, or if Leia killed Vader by shooting him in the back in Empire Strikes Back. Basically, the main villain was killed by a character who had almost no relevance to them, from the middle of nowhere, with half of the season left to go.

They built up the hype for this episode for years and it was a complete letdown. Night King was supposed to be the biggest threat in GoT and he gets stabbed by a little girl and then everything is over.

Imagine That in the fight scene on Return of the Jedi. Instead of getting a duel between Luke and Vader

A Ewok jumps out of fucking nowhere, stabs Darth Vader and evaporate him and the empire

That's got season 8 EP3

WOULD YOU SAY YOUR EXPECTATIONS WERE SUBVERTED?

checked

Fuck, it's done, this will be forever the ending of GoT, until 20 years when they reboot it

I feel like someone I know closely has been murdering actually, I feel personally attacked by what they've done to this series

Subverting expectations a better way

holy based

The plot armor in this last episode got to absurd levels. A show that started out with a surprisingly fresh approach to dealing with characters and consequences of actions is now a parody of itself. Most of the named characters were shown being overwhelmed not just once but multiple times, facing certain death, I think they made the episode much darker just to try and make it harder to see how silly things were.

My expectations were not subverted. Why would anyone expect those hack (((Hollywood))) writers to be able to comprehend what made the first few seasons/books so good? Why should they even care at this point? It's not their story.

Or imagine if Kylo killed Snoke in TLJ

>by a character who had no relevance to them

Arya trained at the House of Black and White which ~*~LITERALLY~*~ worships the same god of death to whom the Children of the Forest made a human sacrifice in order to create the white walkers.

That’s the parallel that the writers were trying to convey to non-retards. Arya, an agent of Death, killed the night king with Valyrian steel, which is essentially the same thing as the Dragonglass which was used to CREATE the white walkers.

Get it? An agent of death undid Death, just like Valyrian steel undid Dragonglass.

I'm talking character arcs as a whole. Jon's character arc was focused entirely on the White Walker plot. He fought and killed a White Walker in single combat and was the one who united the North, The Vale, and Daenerys to fight them. Arya trained as an assassin who utilized deception and disguises, and her arc was clearly a revenge arc, with her seeking out those who had wronged her or her house and killing them with subterfuge, such as Meryn Trant and the Frey's. Jon's arc had been building up to him being the one to end the long night.

This is so dumb and completely misses the idea of appropriate power levels between characters.
she trained there for 2-3 years?...mostly sweeping floors. her education would have been tantamount to a 2nd grader.

The endless night is something that generations feared and talked about, a fucking ice wall was built for, and stories were written about them.
But no, lol, a yellow belt assassin kills it with special knife.

SUBVERTED!
WHAT A MASTERPIECE

GoT's message used to be that the pursuit of political power is figuratively irrelevant, and in the last few seasons we are introduced to a threat that makes the pursuit of political power literally irrelevant. This threat is built up as a literal doomsday scenario that can only be avoided by setting aside the "game of thrones" and uniting to prevent it.

The threat arrives and is completely nullified in the span of one episode midway through the season

Tell me where it says anywhere that they worshiped the same gods you bumbling retard

You are retconning two storylines with no relevance to one another because you are nothing if you’re not a contrarian

honestly that doesn't sound much worse
SW was fucked the second ewoks showed up

>~*~LITERALLY~*~
Don't you get it? He used this word. it's a magic word.

Yeah but normies can’t handle anything anti war. Think about how plotlines are resolved post season 4. Everything is a big battle where nameless people die.

>Arya trained at the House of Black and White which ~*~LITERALLY~*~ worships the same god of death to whom the Children of the Forest made a human sacrifice in order to create the white walkers.
That would just make it even more retarded.

Would The Long Night have been 10/10 had Arya died here? Everyone else dying one-by-one during that Ramin Djawadi interlude as well?

Attached: 2.jpg (2048x1152, 222K)

No. Killing Arya would have made just as little sense.

it would be equally dumb. because the same questions of "how the fuck did she even get near the night king and hundreds of WW/Wrights.

She shouldn't be been near this. This should have been Jon's fight

Yeah - but I think it's mostly because george fucking martin didn't finish the books 4-5years ago.

Will be kinda like fullmetal alchemist, there will be the TV series with a fucked up story and the books (manga and brotherhood for fma), with a cool story.
