Thoughts? I enjoyed it more than the typical capeshit just on the merit of it being an antihero story

Will be loved by Yea Forums when the download is available

>just on the merit of it being an antihero story.
Are our standards this low now?
You must have thought Deadpool was a work of genius then.

>antihero
>hellboy
based screenwriters completely ignoring the source material

Hellboy remake >>>> both Deadpool's

And Blade is >>>>>>>>>>>> any MCU-ified Hellboy schlock

It's entirely possible to make good anti-hero movies. Redditpool and Redditboy are not examples.

Blade was awesome, watchmen also

Why does it get THAT much hate?

It was literally retarded. I understand why it might have some appeal but the issue is A the music B the pacing and C lapse of coherency.

Yes I liked Blade as well.
Watchmen was also pretty good. I genuinely don't get why people hate it so much.

Destroyed so it can make way for Endgame. I enjoyed it too user and look forward to the Blu ray download

why do ya think they'll love it?

Because it's not nearly as bad as made out to be. One could also call it kino

it was really bad. maybe you can get away with thinking it is good now since nobody gives a shit anymore

Why. Hellboy is not even that popular and the 04 movie wasn't bad. Who wanted this? And to top it off they released it inthe Endgame window. Fucking retards.

It's a movie where they seemed to ask fans what were some of their favorite moments from Hellboy and then they proceeded to jam them into the movie in the most meaningless, hastily put together, no understanding of the concepts and importance of the stories or characters way possible.
So instead of shout outs or winks to fans it just ends up being extremely frustrating.

And because of that it's horribly disjointed and pointless overall. Like putting so much in from so many different stories the actual movie itself suffers from it.

this desu
Hellboy is not a hero nor an antihero
he's just a detective who happens to deal with supernatural stuff
his stories aren't about world ending, giant beam in the sky, threats
it's just old castles and lots of folklore

I liked most of the characters, but the plot sucked. It tossed too many Hellboy arcs into a blender and just used all the chunky bits that flew out as its storyline.

Is that how the OG comics are? Sounds comfy, but his origin story is the same?

>but his origin story is the same?
same-ish

Why did they replace Ron Perlman?

total reboot new series of movies.

Yeah but I liked him. I was and still am unfamiliar with the story and setting, but Ron made it interesting.

>comfy
they are
and it's super easy to read because it's a linear story with a clear reading order
>his origin story is the same?
I haven't seen the new movie but I think it's the same: his mother was a witch from England and his father was a demon

It’s straight trash

Even if they got him again he could pull off one or two more movies...MAYBE, but he's getting old they just needed someone younger to cary the series.

He's also generally a kind guy. Compared to modern reimagined superheroes, he's a saint. Now that I think about it, I remember an issue where he is sent to kill Saint Leonard's dragon, and I think Hellboy's blood from the fight turns into lilies just like in the legend of the saint.

Fucking garbage. It was like a season of a show edited down to a 2 hour movie.

capeshit

>He's also generally a kind guy
yeah, he's not even like a typical "badass" as the movies try to portray him

imagine caring about jewtten disneymatoes
