Did Linda Blair have the worst agent in the world? The Exorcist should've been the beginning of her career, but it instead marked the end of it. She wasted the rest of the 70s on schlock (e.g., Roller Boogie) and made-for-TV movies, and that killed her career so in the 80s she was reduced to whoring herself out in porn mags and exploitation flicks.

if exorcist 2 is anything to go by she wasn't the strongest actress and sometimes a star making role ends up pigeon-holing you in one type of role. i guess you could also say that she like cocaine (she did date rick james) and exploitation films are cheap and easy
i think her reputation for being a drug addict in her late teens kinda ruined her career, she was kind of a mess back then.

she coulda probably done other stuff but i think the exorcist pretty much made her a horror icon and she knew she was gonna have to spend the rest of her career doing nothing but b-horror movies. a lot of the ones she did in the 80s were pretty funny in a bad b-movie kind of way. Hell Night and Witchery were actually pretty solid. And I liked when she starred in a parody of her own movie doing that Exorcist parody with leslie neilsen, repossessed or whatever it was called.
