His dad had mob ties. Who do you think hired Harry and Marv?

It was the 80s and his family was white collar.

My parents were low-level systems engineers and we lived in a house like that.

Boomers could afford houses like this with the husband making 40k a year and the wife staying at home

>Boomer parents
>80s 90s economy

Fucking learn something

>Fucking learn something
Don't, OP. Stay ignorant for your own sake. If you research recent history and see how much better the boomers had it and how little ability you have to change our current economic climate you'll probably *honk* up a school.

His mom was a high-class hooker.

>Dad has mob ties
>Mom was a a high-class hooker
>tfw you realise they only went to Paris to whore their daughters out to the local Dons

That type of house is $10 million here in Toronto

winnetka, the town the house is in, has the house with the highest property tax in all of illinois. its not the home alone house but they're literally less than a mile apart. costs you five million a year to live there.

That's not some absurdly huge house or anything. Nice, sure, but you could put a down payment on that after a couple years of six figures.

I don't get how housing is so expensive in America and Canada, you guys have load of fucking room and I thought everyone likes to live in suburbs on the outsides of cities.

what state were they in again? That could also play a big part.

Illinois.

The Chinese own like half the real estate here in Canada

Dad was an architect, mom was a fashion designer

You'd know this if you read the novel

Gotta keep tabs on that Home Alone lore

Boomers could afford houses just working at kfc

it's expensive around the successful cities.
you can buy a house in detroit or baltimore for pocket change.

They hated niggers.
The 80's were incredibly racist.

Fun fact: when you find that house on Street View it's blurred out.

If you wanna live in Idaho then yeah, it's cheap and there's plenty of room. If you wanna live near a real city, it's gonna cost you

>racist much

>costs you five million a year to live there.
fuckkkkkkk only politics can afford that shit

It wasn’t easy son, after paying my $5,000 tuition to state college your mother and I had to save up for almost a year for the down payment, this house cost nearly $30,000 in 1983! We feel a little cheated letting it go for $600,000 but you know we just want to get retirement underway. How’s that resume coming along, champ?

Kevin's dad isn't even the richest McCallister. His brother, the one they are going to visit in France, has way more money. He's got a place in Paris and a huge brownstone in New York. (That's the house from Home Alone 2. ) Also he paid for all those people to fly to Paris in the first movie.

AAAAAAA FUCK YOU BOOMERS

The fed has interest rates too low. When rates are low, people can buy houses they can't really afford. If rates were higher, housing prices would collapse.
