Depends on what that particular officer is doing. Many have a desk job so I'm sure it averages out. But the ones driving around, stopping, investigating and talking to people do have a dangerous job.

Why would they treat you differently if you genuinely didn't do anything? In my experience if you were in a trailer park they probably suspected you'd be drunk, smoking meth, discharging firearms and whatever else the dregs get up to. My aunt lives in a park like that and gets into trouble with the cops constantly. It's normal of them to be suspicious. They've been suspicious of me before but once I showed them I was alright, they were alright and there was no trouble.
