Modern Warfare Film Trilogy WHEN?
Modern Warfare Film Trilogy WHEN?
Hopefully never
it's a shitty mix of Tom Clancy and straight to DVD action why do you need a movie?
I'd rather have a Gravity's Rainbow miniseries directed by Lynch.
WaW, BO1, BO2 would make a better trilogy
Why is that book so boring to read? I can read Infinite Jest and Ulysses but I can’t slog it through Gravity’s Rainbow. Something about Pynchon’s writing style just doesn’t click with me, and the story just seems like a Cold War-lite and feels kinda boring. It’s the only book I’ve ever given up on and never finished reading after halfway through it.
Is Strike Back good enough for something similar?
I've read all three in the meme trilogy and the worst one was Infinite Jest by far. That was a real slog.
I had a blast reading Gravity's Rainbow, but then again, I like the style and the topic. Though I would admit that if if you've never read any Pynchon before, Gravity's Rainbow is not a good place to start. I'd suggest V. as a starting point. If you want something shorter and easier to swallow, Inherent Vice is a good too.
Yeah i might try Inherent Vice one day. I may have been burnt out from WW2 books after reading lots of Sven Hassel books so that could be why. I’ll prob try it again later but man, that was quite the slog for me.
You're just a brainlet.
Hey, fair enough. It's not a book you have to like.
It's one of the best books I've ever read, but I can easily understand why it wouldn't be to everyone's tastes. I like McCarthy's books, but I can also see why someone would get annoyed by his writing. I personally can't stand the writings of Vonnegut and Dostoevsky.
wait for Democrats to take WH back. Ten Hollywood will get commission for MW movie. Must prepare population for a war with Russia, dont we?
When are we going to Moscow bros?
I like Vonnegut and love Dostoevsky. I think his prose is much more beautifully put together and able to explain things a lot better (and in fact in Brothers Karamazov Dostoevsky uses his skill to write the perfect description of a murder mystery without you finding out exactly who did it until the end). He’s def one of my fav writers. John Fowles and Ayn Rand are others that I like.
BF3 is more kino tbqh

>Film based on videogames based on films
>Main characters name is Pirate Prentice
immediately dropped.
Just watch Strike Back (seasons Project Dawn, Vengeance, Shadow Warfare, Legacy)
I think Dostoevsky has great ideas, but I think his prose (having only read translations) is severely limited and I hate how every character bursts out with page after page of platitude filled soliloquies one after the other.
I've never read any Fowles. I have been recommended The Magus though.
Everything I've read from Rand has been terribly written and poorly thought out. Bitch never even heard of the concept of prose. Characters aren't characters as much as they are mouthpieces for her ideology. She should have been a trash collector instead of a writer.
Cast him
This was good, I didn't like that tonal shift after the first season but I got used to it. I didn't realise they made the last season (in North Korea apparently) but after reading up I didn't feel like I missed anything not seeing it.
Modern Warfare movie already exists and it's a piece of shit
Pinecone's character names are great.
Pig Bodine, Reverend Cherrycoke, Meatball Mulligan, Peter Abbott, Judith Prietht, Tyrone Slothrop, Sauncho Smilax, Agent Flatweed, Agent Borderline, Puck Beaverton, etc.
Hilarious
seagal
Robert Pugh the sailing dude from Master & Commander if he's physically up for it.

I find that style of writing to be much more eloquent and in similar vein to classic Shakespeare or epic poems of the past. I’m not too fond of avant- grade writing styles (although I enjoy William Gibson and Danielewski and other stuff that try to do “new” ways of storytelling), but in general they tend to tire me out and bore me, and I find it becomes too full of itself and almost like it takes away focus from the actual story and actual subject matter. Sure, a long winded speech may not be how real people naturally talk, but these are stories about transmitting ideas and passions, not necessarily about just observing human soap opera. And I find those Russian authors have the best knack for that kind of style. In my opinion, nothing comes close to their ability to outline philosophies and existential themes.
My trip dropped by accident but this is me.
I get that, and that's completely understandable, it's just not what I enjoy reading. If that is the kind of thing you like, then Pynchon couldn't be more removed.
BO1 is a copy and paste of every Vietnam trope ever, especially the part where they ripped off The Deer Hunter
Also if you are looking into John Fowler’s The Magus is definitely his best but also check out The Collector. It’s a double-perspective story about an abductor and an abductee. Written very well but also very chilling.
And for the love of god never ever ever ever ever watch the movie adaptation of The Magus. I watched it thinking I might enjoy it after reading the book, but it was so bad it unironically slightly made me not like thinking about The Magus for a while. So avoid it if you care about good stories because the movie is a travesty.
It was fine. Scott's son was a bit annoying but the pathos was totally there. Give it a watch.
thanks
I'd like to recommend Invisible Cities if you haven't read it already. One of my favorite books.
Thanks. I have never heard of it and am always looking for new good books. I’ll add this to my reading pile.
I hope you enjoy it. I re-read chapters of it often.
Yeah I just looked it up sounds very cool.
The main reason I didn't watch it and simply read up on what happened was because I found it impossible to get on my usual pirate places and that was pretty close to release. I might have to go digging, maybe someone uploaded a blu ray or webrip or something since it ended.
thank god you made sure to get the credit from your awesome post. I was really wondering who could be behind that post.
No problem. Anytime.
>annoying race baiting tripfag is HELLA into literature
laugh out loud
Sounds like quite the based and redpilled gentleman.

Are you an anglo or germ upset I keep dropping truthbombs about your central Asian heritage? Maybe stop being so insufferable and I’ll stop making fun of your mon-European people.
WaW and Blops 1 zombies would make a good series.
>the tourist minority still spouting his irrelevant bullshit

Have sex, faggot.
Go back to Mongolia or wherever you come from, Genghis Al-Afghani.

>the story of an immortal warrior
When will we get a kino miniseries based on this?
Tbh you should just fuck off. No one cares about your shitty opinions, even here
>the protagonist unlocks red tiger camo in the final fight
ok this would be epic
never
By no one do you mean your anglo and germ friends? If so, lmao.
I know. Stop reminding me of my impossible dreams
Didn't WW2 Price just vanish halfway through a mission on a battleship? Always felt like a weird way to get rid of him to me.
We need a world war 3 marvel style cinematic universe, every movie taking place during the conflict in different locations on Earth for different battles, branching over and connecting by the end
they tried that with Battle: LA
terrible failure
Yeah because it was shit, they just have to make it not shit
the only thing good about that movie was the music used in the trailer
He didn't vanish, he was killed, you van see his dead body when you get to the door and at the end of the mission McGregor remarks that price was a good man
Where's my Bad Company series ;_;
