ITT name/make up a specific genre of film and what you think is the best of that genre

I'll start with the best in the family man gets upstaged by stranger and has to win back his family's love and respect genre.

The best in the young girl becomes obsessed with an older man and then goes psycho when he doesn't return her advances genre.

Why does that DVD cover look like they shopped heads onto different bodies? It's really fucking bizarre.

My sex life

What a great fucking movie

it was a hard choice, but i think this one definitely deserves best in the "first film in a fantasy trilogy where the characters form into a group and work together to destroy a dark artifact" genre

For me, it’s What About Bob?

Attached: ECA09A33-81C0-4DED-A188-05D293C7A492.jpg (1999x2954, 836K)

Best in the home invasion that isn't a comedy genre.

Attached: Panic Room.jpg (750x562, 77K)

Also the best in the "two lesbians keep each other warm in their pajamas" genre.

What's the best in the younger brother gets bullied by his older sister and her friends until one of them confesses that she really has a thing for him genre?

the best Thanksgiving movie

Is this movie any good? It looks interesting

It's awesome. Forest Whitaker and Jared Leto are the bad guys. It's directed by David Fincher.
If it had a Trent Reznor score it would be 10/10 kino.

Family goes on a comfy sailing adventure and learn to work together: see for the best one.
I just want another movie like Captain Ron. ;_;

It started out as Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian.

the best You've Got An Unconventional Babysitter movie.

This might not be the best, but it's one of my favorites of the bumbling idiot in the military genre.

Attached: in-the-army-now-movie-poster-1994-1020211128.jpg (520x805, 67K)

that would be pic related

"White person is trapped in the big city over night and everything spirals out of control"
Adventures in Babysitting
After Hours
Miracle Mile
(Yuppie nightmare cycle)

I have doubts about a Pauly Shore movie being the best of anything.

Screwball Comedy is probably the pinnacle of American film making and nearly impossible to duplicate today because writers can't do quick snappy dialog anymore.

Attached: IMG_2424.jpg (296x445, 27K)

Best in the comic lottery fraud genre.

This way favourite movie all through childhood, thanks to Miss March

I wonder if they ever made one with a non-white lead. The entire genre only works if a white person gets trapped in the city

>that six pack
God being paulie shore in the early 90s must have felt like a king

Probably watched that movie at least once a week with my sister growing up.
>no one leaves this place without singing the blues

Excellent start-with-nothing mystery about exploring and learning about a surreal situation in a strange setting. Avoid the theatrical cut, which starts with a monologue spoiling various twists, like the plague.

Had 3 older sisters who would watch anything with a woman lead, so pretty much the same. If it wasn't Adventures is Babysitting I would have to sit through Grease 1 & 2 all the time

For me, it was Little Women and Fried Green Tomatoes

Any more comfy Irish movies like this, lads? Love that scene where the lovelorn farmer walks through the village singing the parting glass.

Steel Magnolias, Little Women and Flashdance were big hits in our house. Fucking maniacs

The Snapper, The Commitments and The Van. The Barrytown trilogy is simply great fun.

I could see Eddie Murphy pulling off a suburbs weakling character ending up in the city at night and being scared while everyone's either scared of him(white folks) or think he's one of them, having to pretend he's tough and cool to survive the night.

based

Eddie also plays various ethnic stereotypes that he runs into throughout the film
I'd watch it.

Do not listen to this man. Leap Year is in no way Irish, despite the setting.

Would you believe it if I said that I saw The Snapper and The Commitments probably five times each at least before I realised they were meant to be connected, much less based on a book series? I never watched them back to back or anything, so I just lumped them into "Irish movies using the same small cast of Irish actors". I still haven't found a copy of The Van, but I expect I'll love it.

Jcon was amazing in that. But is there even any other film in this genre other than matrix

Police officer has to go undercover as a woman genre.

Attached: White_Chicks-209366455-large.jpg (580x872, 105K)

I would certainly believe it. Didn't realise they were connected meself until I was in my late teens. To be honest, The Van was the weakest of the three (unless you were Irish during the World Cup...in which case it was massive)

Into the West

"Subverting expectations without being retarded" genre.

Are "real people meet cartoons" a genre ?
Evil toons
Space Jam
Bednobs and broomsticks

Attached: IMG_2377.jpg (1800x2700, 1.62M)

Not a movie but Haibane Renmei fits that description.

Tayto!

I can hear it in my mind

Attached: 1554664179302.png (416x416, 2K)

A Run in the Country and Good Vibrations come to mind

wow op you have never been so wrong about something in your whole life

Attached: what_about_bob[1].jpg (650x348, 61K)

Hyup outta that!

The War of the Buttons was another one I can't fully remember but loved the experience in the cinema

Don't forget Cool World.

and Rock a Doodle, though it's mostly animated only

Attached: goldie.gif (480x368, 2.25M)

song of the south and coonskin are also a classic choice

This is clearly a movie from the "unfortunately everything you need is just barely out of finger reach" genre.

Schitzophrenic qt has adventures with her asshat imaginary friend

the best in the shrink down and go on a crazy adventure genre

Attached: 91+1hwLMS0L._RI_.jpg (1920x2560, 618K)

>not Fantastic Voyage
WRONG

watching this during NoFap was a poor decision on my part

Attached: crazy stupid love.gif (500x213, 498K)

the best in the post apocalyptic world with a lack of resources and crazy people trying to fight for what's left genre

Attached: 1 Yh21Js08ML3kYfmVe5pwgQ.jpg (1000x1426, 348K)

But that's not The Postman.

god i wish that were me locked in a room with Kristen Stewart

The best in the deadly spider genre. Eight Legged Freaks is a close second.

Attached: Arachnophobia-1990-poster.jpg (1600x2400, 683K)

I mean how many more of these films are there?

This is the most based film ever.

Slither is kino.

a lot if you count b-movies

What the fuck are Neelix and heroin-addict timeline John Conner gonna do about giant spiders?

idk but he's got a bat and is surrounded by sporty sluts.

Attached: arachnoquake 4.png (1283x667, 943K)

Patrician taste

Eight Legged Freaks is a b-movie. That there is a rank fucking d-movie.

Attached: scarjo.gif (248x384, 1.55M)

great movie but to be fair, does anything come close?

Best romantic comedy

Eh, that's the wrong picture, Doc.

>when studio told director to make second happy ending he made so retarted they had to go with the original one

base

Possibly. I also think The Shop Around The Corner could be the best too.

>Genuinely Funny

If only more directors did the same.

What other Pauly Shore-centric flick can boast such high praise?

that hit home for me. when my sister who is 6 years younger than me turned 12 she made friends with this girl who was 14, who got creepy about me. for what reason, I have no idea to this day, but she was always saying and doing some very suggestive things. like putting her panties on my face. exposing herself to me, telling me she wanted to suck me off which she said in front of my mom in my ear, catching her humping my pillow.

I would have fucked her if she was my age, and she wasnt so fucking UGLY. she is ugly enough to make shrek vomit and scream while shitting himself in terror.
