it will get second place maybe even first. if we look other avengers we see 40% of total gross was made in first weekend. this movie is even more frontloaded so calculations are as follows
first weekend/total
40% -> 3.0B
45% -> 2,7B
50% -> 2,4B
55% -> 2.2B

For that reason its weekend estimates are full of shit because it absolutely did drop on Sunday night. And I think a lot of those who wanted to see it already saw it on its opening weekend because unlike Avatar you need to re-watch 20 movies to fully get into it.

For action movies more FPS would surely be superior. It didn't work for the Hobbit movies because those had shitty effects which the frame rate called attention to. A movie like Mad Max: Fury Road would look better with more FPS.

nah man. the high gross of avatar is exclussively cuz of 3D tickets sales. they were much more expensive than basic tickets now. yes many people saw it multiple times, but same goes for avengers movies.
sunday drop was -17.3% on pair with all avengers movies

the dollar was also very weak in 2009/2010 so its international gross is inflated due to that as well

Endgame made 90 million on Sunday, which is the highest ever for any movie. GoT doesn't have much effect considering it starts at 9 PM and Endgame has the entire day before that to make money.

in 2010 3D tickets cost up to 16$ and Breaking domestic down, nearly 81 percent of Avatar's gross is from 3D presentations.
while average cost of 2D ticket in 2019 is 9$ ... so if avengers get close to avatars gross we can assume more people saw it.

i cant agree with you, yes i play games on 144hz (only 100fps though) but games are not movies in games all the action is "real" all the fighting is in your face while i still enjoy movies a lot even though they are 24fps because you need motion blur to hide things because you cant do everything like videogames can
