The absolute worst one is totally Dany. Emilia Clarke worked in the beginning cuz she had to be this innocent fish-out-of-water queen, but when she went full yass queen my god is she terrible. Could you imagine how the character would be different if they actually got a strong female actor with authority and presence.

Kit Harrington is also pretty weak as Jon Snow, his breathy voice performance just bothers me for some reason.

Dany was originally played by Tamzin Merchant in the first pilot HBO made. They "decided to go a different direction" or some shit and recast her with Emilia. I'm still curious to see if Tamzin's version was any better.

I'd argue that Headey probably isn't attractive enough for Cersei and Christie is arguably too attractive for Brienne but they've both been great in terms of acting.

Arya was ruined by the writing, a child who has her family killed and who murders people is tragic but they scrapped that part and openly said that the way they write Arya is just to think of the most badass and cool thing and have her do ., Maisie even tried to prevent D&D from making her character act retarded, but to no avail.

I've never seen what makes Dinklage such a good actor. He's good for a dwarf I suppose, but most of his acting outside "somewhat humorous banter" sounds pretty forced and a bit like watching a high school play, especially when he tries to act sad.
I think people are just letting a lovable character influence someones fairly mediocre acting. He was fucking shit in X-Men and Thor.

There were good actors playing many good characters in GoT, not just Cersei and Theon.

To a larger or smaller degree, Robert, Ned, Tywin, Doran Martell, Jorah, Tyrion, Olenna, Varys, Jaimie, Benjen Stark, the High Sparrow, all played competently. Even the guy who played Oberyn sold me on the character.

The problem is that not many of those stuck around. That and the younger cast. Theon is the only exception, the only competent actor on the show under 35yo.
