The show was good for the first couple of seasons, but then started deviating from the source material, and the butterfly effect of changing so many things caused them to fuck themselves over and now they have no idea how to end the story. It's basically been fan fiction since season 5.

Also, to further elaborate, one of the reasons why season 1 seems "slow" is because book 1 uses a lot of internal monologue and character building to forward the action. And there's basically no way to translate that into a TV format, unless they got Morgan Freeman to narrate or some shit, which would just be cheesy. So a lot of the great flashbacks and thoughts you get in the book can't translate into the show, so they have to bank that the plot is enough to hook you, which there is almost next to nothing of.

Fatty might get one more book in the series out, but no way he makes it to finish the last one.

Which means the final book gets written by some Millennial faggot who isn't going to alter any of the girl power shite from the series.
