Separation was great movie, pure kino.

All of those movies are great. It's a meme to argue otherwise.

What?

I really dont get moonlights status. Its just an im gay coming of age film. Good, but not great.

The only one on the list I've seen is Mad Max

Seems like it would be a waste of time to watch the inferior 19.

Nocturnal Animals, Prisoners, Shame, Upstream Colour, First Man, Burning, Moneyball, The Florida Project and Silence should be on the list too.

idk I fell asleep while watching it. i guess that makes it "2deep4u" or something

It's an amateur hour production for sure. It's like a really talented high schooler's first screenplay.
Nothing against Ali, but his performance was hardly Oscar-worthy, whatever that means nowadays. Andre Holland definitely stole the show.
Fuck the movie all-together, though.

Are they really going to pretend Moonlight and Get Out were good for all these lists just cause of "muh black people"?

I feel that way about his Green Book performance too. I think he was really good in House of Cards though.

Yes. Welcome to nu-criticism, enjoy your stay.

Green Book was better since the charisma between the two leads was more enjoyable. All the dudes in Moonlight did was stare at each other while violins played.

BASED

The age old question. Should top of the decade lists be
>best films of the decade
or
>most influental films of the decade

Get Out belongs on the latter

>It's an amateur hour production for sure
It's obviously not. It may not be up there as the best of the decade, but why pretend the film wasn't very well made?

But Get Out isn't influential, all it did was add more fuel to the neverending WOKE fire. As a director, Jordan Peele is just a wannabe Kubrick, and all the praise around is just marketing hype that carried over from his comedy career.

What really pissed me off is its a movir about a gay guy living in the ghetto but it is clearly catered to a white audience. From the muted cinematography to the weird orchestra strings. It's like even though the director is black he was only thinking about awards. This movie is not talked about in the black community at all when it is suppose to be a movie about the strugglea of a gay black man.

Is this the most forgettable decade in film yet?

ah-bloo-bloo

posted the wrong image, but whatever

...how is it irrelevant?
It's clearly not 'amateur hour' because it was such a well-crafted film.
I wasn't blown away by it, but acting like anyone could just go out and make a film lile that is (hopefully) blatant lying.

>only watched the hunt once
But Damn I will never forget it. Mads was robbed of more performance recogbitions and awards for that role.

There was a great time for films
2007 to 2013
But it's been quite boring before that and ever since

Does "Style over substance" not ring any bells to you?

Also cinematography isn't the same skill as directing or writing.

5 real human beans

spoilers for you chief, but the majority of black people aren't down with the gays.

>La La Land (11 votes)
who are these losers

mad max is not an awful movie but I wouldn't include it on any best movie list ever. It's entirely forgettable and bland

it really ain't that hard to just grab a DSLR and dim the camera's exposure of the blue neon lights like Moonlight did

>who are these chads
FFY

>no first reformed
>no handmaiden
>no wailing
>no shoplifters
>no three billboards
>no br49
>no jagten
>no shame
>no true grit
>no drive

This has been the worst decade of movies in history

Something is wrong with this list.
Shape of Water was voted for 4 times, Arrival 4 times, Handmaiden 3 times, Ex Machina 4 times, and more, but none of them are listed?

How's tree of life.

Heard it's incredible pretentious.

>get out

Dropped

the 90ies were worse. don't let one good year (1999) fool you.

three billboards, first reformed, true grit and shoplifters are terrible. other choices are good.

No way. The 90s aren't nearly as good as they're hyped up to be, but the 2010s doesn't have 1/4 of the landmark films that the 90s had.

As far as I can remember,
The Social Network and
Only God Forgives
were my favorites. My memory is faint, though.

>>No Infinity War
Mad Max?!?..nothing happened in that movie!

Most people feel like that at first and yet you'll be surprised to find it's kind of the opposite.

It basically brings up a lot of tough doubts christian kids go through in their life but instead of trying to have an answer for them, it just washes them away.

If I had to describe it, it's kind of like a good hard cry.
Something shitty happens -> you cry like a bitch-> after crying for a while you feel much better despite still being in the same shitty situation.

alright. Sounds interesting. Ill give it a try. Thanks

Most people who claim that it's pretentious didn't understand what's happening in the film.

I loved Twin Peaks: The Return but it is a television show not a film...what is it doing on this list?

In before MAD MAX IS A FEMINIST MOVIE autistic spammer.
Actually I didn't read the thread yet, so I bet that fucking faggot already has.

It's not a feminist movie. If anything, it's bait and switch. If it wasn't for Max, all of those women would die and nothing would have changed.
It's about his journey, they always have, Max is never going to settle down. That's why he leaves at the end - he's a migrant, and he's going to keep traveling.

I just wish we got a sequel. The sandstorm sequence was amazing - also, Black and Chrome edition really puts a new perspective with the black/white color grading.

Where is Black Panther? It's 97% in RT

Goddamnit I meant to quote OP , not this frogposter, sorry dumb frogposter.

where's avenger's endgame

mad meme is mediocre regardless of the feminism anyways

it's all good Leo

Attached: 1490744027004.jpg (680x544, 33K)

What I felt was TRULY progressive about the movie was that when that one bitch died, they just kept moving in never mentioned her again. They didn't turn a woman's death into a big event.

there's no fucking feminism
it's putting the dumb third wave feminism in its place
and it's a good movie but it isn't deserving of #1, I agree

its ok fren

My man
The arc of Nox was also redeeming - he wasn't doing it for his waifu, he was doing it for redemption, unlike the autists keep thinking he was doing it for the pussy

ah-bloo-bloo

I can't argue with #1. No movie I've seen in a theater since made me feel like that.

Shit, I didn't even realize that was this decade. Excellent film, probably better than some of these arthouse films listed that I haven't watched.

The Rurouni Kenshin trilogy was by far better than all those movies on that list.

Attached: 2135.jpg (1500x1500, 215K)

There's not a shred of truth to it.

It's just bait, all people need to do is ignore it.

Huh.....never watched any of those and only heard of two of them.

a tour de force performance from glenn close makes albert nobbs a better movie than at least 10 on that list if were gonna get serious about movie criticism and the revenants cinematography does much of the same. if were gonna talk pacing and "moviesqueness", the hateful 8 is a perfectly crafted story way way better than some crap shit like margaret or call me by your name. if you wanna talk foreign la grande belleza is a masterpiece of contemporary existentialism that is miles ahead of woe-is-me socreal roma we've seen done so many times by east euros that they should be winning best foreign pics all day everyday. all in all a shit list besides mad max, as it truly is a case of where technology caught up with a mans vision. inception gets in on sheer story structure.

>Let's show some cool practical effects and nothing the movie is number 1
Hollywood movies have really declined in quality the past few years, haven't they?

it is unironic kino and a surprisingly great movie about male friendship, despite being marketed towards women

So much this.
All the normies saying it's not only the best action movie of the decade, but of all time is depressing.

Outside of Mad Max, Tree of Life, The Master, and Inception, these are terrible choices.

>people unironically think Mad Max is the best film of this entire decade
That being said, though, most of these other choices are an abysmal shitshow, so I'll take that in a heartbeat.

Not based, this should be competing in the top 5 minimum.

UUUUHHHHH why isn't this there?

Haven't seen Moonlight, Get Out is good, Her is at the right spot.
The Tree of Life is fucking dumb and Margaret is a bore.

Also where the FUCK is Melancholia?
