I just watched The Prestige and found a huge plot hole

David Bowie invented a cloning machine but that's not possible with the technology at that time. How did Nolan get away with this?

The machine didnt actually work brainlet

Explain faggot. It clearly worked.

Not him but did you seriously miss the part with the twins, retard?

Based retard, re watch the movie there's not a single scene the machine is shown working outside of diary entries, the whole tesla story was fabricated by Angier

Because Nolan is a hack for pseudo-intellectuals who like to pretend that they "get it" whenever they watch a movie that isn't overtly dumb capeshit.

The one that used the machine didn't have a twin.

What are you faggots talking about? Bale's character had a twin not Angier.

brainlet, the details in the movie clearly indicates that hugh jackman's narration is unreliable and that the tesla machine was all just a fabrication, he had the lookalike from before drowned in the tanks and found more lookalikes for all of the subsequent magic tricks

Lmao, you're putting more thought into it than Nolan. Retard.

Re watch the movie

Did you miss the scene with all the dead clones? I guess it was at the very end so you were probably asleep.

Yep this brainlet is reading too much into the movie.

Stop, you're replying to hard b8

The film isn't even about the cloning machine, it's about the lengths a performer will go to, to beat his/her competition in the race for spectacular shows

And also how the most complicated tricks in the world have the most mundane explanations

Notice how you can't actually see any clones? It's all smoke and mirrors

>Most mundane explanations

Yeah because advanced magic human cloning is so mundane

Nolan's best

I don't see any clones, only empty tanks. The only dead guy (the supposed clone) there was the drunk guy who isn't even in the tanks.
Even if there were clones in the tanks they would have rotten by the time we get to the final scene. Remember the final transported man show was long before that scene and that was the last 'clone' killed

>plothole
It's not a plothole. We are to believe that they were thousands of years ahead of their time. If we are to compare, it would be similar to how Wakanda is way too advanced than rest of the countries in Black Panther.

That's the point, little cerebellum
Angier by using a scientific Frankenstein machine which doesn't even work properly, is breaking the rules of magic

His prestige is not a real Prestige it is a travesty

I think the biggest point is that Hugh Jackman could have performed the trick exactly like Bale and his twin did after the first clone. Except he was so evil by then, he didn't want to share fame and shot him...

It didn't work
