did Avengers Endgame get mogged by GOT in terms of Pop Culture?
I have seen hardly ANY avengers memes or references across the web, yet there's GOT references everywhere.
I heard the movie was "good" and the box office is fantastic... but did the no spoilers campaign backfire and cause people to avoid talking about the film completely?
Endgame was a solid film, while a lot of the people talking GoT are talking about how shit the most recent episode was
Gabriel Bennett
People actually value the twists in Endgame and want others to experience what's happening in it for themselves. GOT, on the other hand has become more about shock value, more so now that the last season has nothing to do with fat fuck George. Also there's the fact that everyone has the opportunity to see the last episode of GOT at the same time, while having everyone see Endgame simultaneously is impossible, making people more conscious not to spoil it for others.
Chase Cooper
Most people haven’t seen it yet it’s only been a weekend. People are trying not to spoil the movie so there aren’t too many memes of it going around. Game of thrones is a weekly thing everyone watches at the same time so the memes come out instantly
Jaxson Hill
where have you been? Endgame fell on its face trying to ride the fluke success of Infinity Wae , which was superior in so many ways for capeshit flick.
Anthony Morgan
>endgame is a solid movie Are marvelshills that delusional?
Leo Mitchell
Endgame was ripped to pieces on here. All people did was talk about the broken time travel shit, very few good things said generally.
Juan Thomas
MCU has had fairly limited amount of cultural impact for a huge franchise. It's basically Avatar tier
Jeremiah Bailey
By Capeshit standards (post-Nolan capeshit I mean) it's solid
Angel Moore
Oh really? The board that constantly shits on capeshit didn't like Endgame?
Normies think it's the best superhero movie ever made.
Jackson Long
>Hasn't even watched it
Colton Morris
>Endgame was a solid film gr8 b8 m8
Matthew Russell
it is a solid movie. not super over the top best film ever tier but a solid movie.
Adrian Long
>broken time travel shit As oppose to what? Non broken time travel shit?
Isaiah Diaz
They only watch two kinds of movies: Capeshit and Transformers.
Ryder Wilson
whats wrong with it
Evan Peterson
Endgame was an extremely satisfying ending to 11 years of movies, GoT was a fucking disgrace of an episode
Also I watched the episode yesterday on my laptop and I noticed it was super fucking dark and I could barely see anything, I thought it was me but then I read that the episode was indeed really fucking dark, what the hell
Grayson Young
Nothing, it's just butthurt DC fags and anti capeshit fags that are angry Endgame is the biggest movie of all time and it's not a disaster
Samuel Murphy
Literally nothing besides being a bit too long. The only people hating on Endgame are DCucks and people who hate all capeshit.
Blake Morris
it's popular.
William Anderson
>on here Yea Forums is the most contrarian place on the internet, don't be a retard.
Joshua Adams
m8 I’m sure you’d do a better job than paid professionals, run along now kiddo
Ethan Cooper
i like the most recent GOT episode a lot, probably the best episode of a tv series i watched in a decade or maybe ever. avengers endgame is quite average in my opinion as a movie. The pace is very slow.
Jayden Turner
>T-there's nothing wrong with the movie! J-just ignore those 2213214321 plot holes and inconsistent writing!
I'm not a huge fan of either. I barely remember what happened last season in GOT. But i do think the last avengers movie is a lot better. The new movie feels liking being too segmented. It feels like casts' contracts are terminating and they are doing new things so their schedules are messed up enough to not have a good structured film
Bentley Roberts
Disgusting opinion
Christopher Bell
The actors pulled an RDJ and acted like themselves. A lot of the character moments didn't add up to anything established beforehand.
Jaxon Ramirez
This is the state of zoomer Yea Forums
Asher Scott
Endgame is making a gorillion dollars so it's objectively a success. I think less people are talking about it (here and elsewhere) because they are generally satisfied with how it turned out.
GoT on the othr hand is rapidly going down the drain and and a lot of fans are legit angry about, leading to more discussion about why it's bad and what could have been. It's the same reason that The Last Jedi left a bigger mark on this board than, say, BR 2049.
Samuel Sanchez
>objectively a success How does box office performance have any relation to the quality of the film.
Daniel Lopez
They’re talking about the shitty time travel and pointless characters in Endgame too if you look beyond the worthless yaaas kween bloggers that masquerade as critics and journalists.
He didn’t say it was a good film retard, he said it was successful
Lincoln Long
No they don’t, normies think it isn’t as good as Infinity War. There was even the male feminist in my office bitching how the female characters are boring, Thor’s character got trashed, hates the time travel, thinks Stark was cheated, Cap’s end was dire, doesn’t give a shit about Hawkeye and Widow because they’re not suddenly convincing as emotional 3D characters. It only seems to be cool wine aunts who like it and what do they know about Avengers?
Adam Garcia
When is time travel NOT silly? Back to the Future also has some pretty retarded concepts about time, but people still love it.
Juan Brooks
Fuck that, I’m a Marvel fan but because I have a brain and some taste I can see a lot of flaws in Endgame and it’s simply not good enough given the hype.
Lucas Evans
Reminder that Disney is fixing its box-office numbers by buying out an obscene numbers of theaters. Captain Marvel was the final proof. A movie literally nobody cared about somehow doing more than a billion. No wonder when theaters weren't even allowed to show anything else. For Black Panther they were giving away free tickets to school children.
So yeah, GoT is way bigger than MCU is. Just about everyone watches it. Workplaces, schools, gyms, they all talk about GoT. Not capeshit.
Jaxson Diaz
Back to the Future was a comedy, it never took itself seriously. Terminator also used time travel very well.
Leo Thompson
A:E is ultimately cinematic junk food or a pop song. It won't last much like its predecessor movies. It's only the "best ever" for as long as it's new.
Isaac Campbell
Are you Implying capeshit takes itself seriously either? They literally break the 3rd wall when talking about the time travel stuff.
Matthew Phillips
Back to the Future is a light hearted film. Endgame is about a Universe-ending event where billions have already been wiped out. There's a difference between the two. Marvel is trying to have its cake and eat it too.
Caleb Clark
>been over a year since black panther and he's still trying to cope
based
Zachary Ramirez
>Marvel is trying to have its cake and eat it too.
>on here Why would anyone value the opinions of the worst board on Yea Forums?
Ryder Brown
Yikes
Tyler Cox
I agree and Speaking of the latter, I remember how "OMGZZZZ TFA IS SOO GOOD!" following its release until normies forgot all about it and moved on to the next flavor of the month.
Dominic Nguyen
Learn English, third-world mouseshill scum.
Landon Reyes
The problem sounds like you’re the one taking the film too seriously. It was fine for what it wanted to do, and gave the series a satisfying ending.
Jackson Smith
imagine actually being this delusional
Jeremiah Flores
Ok it was fine for being nothing but forgettable fast-food trash. In that it was successful. I won't argue with you. The McDonald's Cinematic Universe has perfected the fast-food film formula.
Jason Perez
Studios make movies to generate a profit, Endgame will be one of the most profitable films ever. Disney/Marvel succeeded.
Alexander Gray
The time travel isn't even the only thing, don't forget the butchering of Thor and Thanos's characters.
Oh piss off.
Austin Watson
Yes? I never was never trying to argue otherwise bruh.
Brody Jenkins
Back to the Future made more sense than Endgame's time travel theories. Theoretically, if you go back and change something, it will effect the future. Endgame's time travel was written in a way to not disrupt its 22 movies or cause additional plot holes.
Joshua Allen
It's all fake shit. Orchestrated numbers to give the idea that people want more of this trash. Did anyone geniunely like Black Panther past racial-political reasons? I've yet to find one.
If Cap went back in time to the 40's, why didn't his big tittied love acknowledge it in present time?
Liam Hall
It's weird to realize there are actually people who didn't see some of the "twists" in endgame coming from a mile away.
Hudson James
>broken time travel why are people even arguing about this? MCU is not real. in their universe timetravel works like shown in the movie. there is a big green monster running around, a hammer that can shot lightning, a guy that can open portals and some stupid stones that can change reality. they can travel trough quantum world! they have different laws of physic. you can't compare this to the real world. it's not a documentary, it's completly "pulled out of my ass" fiction.
Zachary Rodriguez
Literally all of social media united in the goal of not spoiling the movie for those who haven’t seen it while you retards were busy circlejerking in your little echo chamber hugbox
Anthony Gonzalez
What are the problems with it?
Michael Kelly
I enjoyed it on my first viewing and I like the OST. For cape shit, it does have good villain motives
Gavin Sanchez
GOT can be download in high quality and memed, while there are only camrip shit quality materials for Endgame. That's why.
Samuel Baker
>people slowly fade away when their current timeline has them not being born
That alone is 1000x dumber than anything time-related in Endgame. Don’t be delusional.
Jeremiah Perez
I had to reserve a handicapped seat on a Tues morning cause the entire showing was sold out. Not only is Disney buying tickets but they are actually sending in people to sit in all the seats (my theater was FULL). Wow. This is next level conspiracy!
Isaac Hughes
I liked how the villain seemingly went from a ghetto thug to Shakespeare just in time for his final monologue.
Wyatt Thompson
>If Cap went back in time to the 40's, why didn't his big tittied love acknowledge it in present time? Because its time travel garbage covered that plot hole up. Remember the whole "changing the past own't change the future, haha Back to the Future was bullshit! xD" Yeah, there's a reason behind that retarded logic.
Wyatt Rodriguez
Sounds like the time travel shit was came up with at the last second. MCU is a trash cinematic universe. There is no overarching narrative. They just make up shit as they go. If they had intended time travel from the start, then there would've been hints of a Cap living in the past in the previous films.
Lincoln Thomas
yes, which is hilarious that a billion+ dollar film is getting mogged by a tv show. this is part of it too, I haven't seen anybody spoiling Avengers whereas my facebook feed had plenty of YAAASSSS QUEEEEN comments about Arya and the Mormont girl. the most recent episode was shit but endgame was also a letdown.
Charles Parker
>Looking at the aesthetic at face value The fading implied change, you dimwit. Hence, "change the past will effect the future." If McFly's mom hooked up with another guy, Marty wouldn't exist.
If you apply Endgame's retarded logic: Marty would exist even if Marty's mom hooked up with another guy.
John Carter
Really? You can see flaws in a movie with super heroes?
Samuel Price
Everyone I know watches Game of Thrones. Literally nobody here cares about capeshit but the class fatso nerd. Maybe it's zoomers that flood to the cinemas watching that trash. I don't know.
Endgame wasn't bad. But it wasn't great. Endgame completed a number of character arcs in a faithful and fair manner. Endgame managed to keep the "woke" shit to a reasonable minimum so that it didn't ruin the film. Overall, it was satisfying for most people and it didn't attempt to subvert your expectations in any ham fisted way. Basically, End Game kept the spaghetti in its pockets.
GoT however has been one hell of a terrible betrayal of the plot. It has thrown out all expectations and has made a mockery of all the entire plot that has led up to this point in the story. Basically, GoT has spilled spaghetti all over the place and that's far more discussion worthy than a movie that mostly met expectations.
Jordan Hill
No that’s dumb. Either you exist or you don’t. You can’t “halfway” exist.
Christian Lee
I liked it
James Sanchez
Because people are beating each other up because of spoilers and shit. Hard to do memes about it when everyone is screeching because of minor spoilers
All fiction is based on suspension of disbelief. If that suspension is broken through shit writing, you get a bad movie.
Gabriel Wood
If you watch Endgame without thinking about it while following its up and down emotions, then I can see it working. But once you actually start to think about it, connect it with its other movies, and apply its time travel concept, then the entire MCU just falls apart.
Cooper Green
>Ripped to pieces Lmao you mean the same mongoloids who keep bringing up 'plotholes' that would make sense if you just paid attention to the movies?
Cameron Reyes
Bro, say your mom didn't meet your dad. Never once hooked up. You wouldn't exist. Make sense? That's what Back to the Future implied and theoretically it works.
Easton Sanders
Hi Jeremy!
Caleb Bennett
Only ones that got mogged were DCfags. As predicted Shazam hype disappeared immediately and even though there is currently breaking news from the DC camp, nobody posts about it here cause nobody cares. Marvel truly killed killed DC with Endgame (with an assist by their tag team partner GOT... and maybe Sonic, which I don't fully understand). Anyway, as they say:
>Anyway, as they say: "They" being a DC Film you're quoting. Does Endgame have any memorable lines like that? I can't remember.
Liam Harris
That’s exactly how you’re supposed to watch the film. It’s capeshit, don’t think too hard about it. If you take a step back and think about why they decided to add time travel, it’s pretty obvious the whole purpose of the time travel shtick was to be a callback to former movies.
In that sense, I see nothing wrong with what they did. It was to add gravity to the ending by reminding people of the beginning and show how far the series has come.
Brody Cooper
>criticize any part of any film >nu-uh doesn't count it's capeshit Whatever, the genre lost all its creativity and wit a decade ago anyways.
DC getting meme'd to death for being shit isn't really the type of memorable they were going for.
Wyatt Mitchell
>criticize back to the future time travel >nu-uh doesn’t count it’s a comedy
Ryder Flores
>A movie is making fun of another movie's logic Holy shit. When did cinema turn into the equivalent of burger chains gong at each other? What the fuck?
Grayson Scott
But did Endgame have anything memorable to it? I see the Batman versus Superman quote often but never anything from Endgame that just released.
The final battle was pretty cool and sticks in my mind.
Jonathan King
>doesn't name any >phoneposts numbers
Adrian Cruz
I remember Paul Rudd's moments because to me it seemed like he was the only actor who gave two-shits. Everyone else was pretty casual, didn't care, and just had a good time being around each other.
Matthew Bell
>anti capeshit fags one of these things is not like the other
Carson Roberts
I was more pumped for Thrones than Avengers, but I was much more impressed by Avengers than Thrones. It's easy and popular to hate on capeshit here (and Thrones too, but capeshit hate has a longer legacy and more adherents), but Endgame was a good sendoff after a decade of buildup. It had some cheesy moments and problems to be sure, as is the nature of the genre, but overall it was satisfying. The Long Night was a long episode of shit, and a huge waste of time.
Angel Rodriguez
This is pretty much my exact same sentiment word for word.
Xavier Walker
This. Endgame embraced fanservice and gave people exactly what they wanted for an ending. GoT seems to fear it and do the exact opposite.
Josiah Roberts
Both GoT and MCU are fanservice trash. It's just that it's more jarring in GoT since it started out the opposite of that.
Carter Wilson
If you could foresee the Thor spoiler or the Hulk spoiler, you're pretty amazing
Samuel Hernandez
>Those niglets
Do all the niggers act like chimps?
Elijah Richardson
>Endgame was a solid film It most certainly wasn't.
Daniel Martin
Durr hurr slow bad, need action all time like Transformer and zombies!!! Slow make brain hurt!
Robert Scott
Could thanos beat the night king?
Brayden Hughes
He could outright solo the entire white walker army
Hudson Parker
Two reasons: 1) GoT is available to watch for free by literally everyone right now whereas a good quality version of Endgame has yet to hit the internet. 2) TV has long surpassed movies in terms of prestige and quality. This is nothing new.
