did Avengers Endgame get mogged by GOT in terms of Pop Culture?
I have seen hardly ANY avengers memes or references across the web, yet there's GOT references everywhere.
I heard the movie was "good" and the box office is fantastic... but did the no spoilers campaign backfire and cause people to avoid talking about the film completely?
Endgame was a solid film, while a lot of the people talking GoT are talking about how shit the most recent episode was
People actually value the twists in Endgame and want others to experience what's happening in it for themselves. GOT, on the other hand has become more about shock value, more so now that the last season has nothing to do with fat fuck George.
Also there's the fact that everyone has the opportunity to see the last episode of GOT at the same time, while having everyone see Endgame simultaneously is impossible, making people more conscious not to spoil it for others.

i like the most recent GOT episode a lot, probably the best episode of a tv series i watched in a decade or maybe ever. avengers endgame is quite average in my opinion as a movie. The pace is very slow.

I'm not a huge fan of either. I barely remember what happened last season in GOT. But i do think the last avengers movie is a lot better. The new movie feels liking being too segmented. It feels like casts' contracts are terminating and they are doing new things so their schedules are messed up enough to not have a good structured film

Endgame wasn't bad. But it wasn't great.
Endgame completed a number of character arcs in a faithful and fair manner.
Endgame managed to keep the "woke" shit to a reasonable minimum so that it didn't ruin the film.
Overall, it was satisfying for most people and it didn't attempt to subvert your expectations in any ham fisted way.
Basically, End Game kept the spaghetti in its pockets.
GoT however has been one hell of a terrible betrayal of the plot. It has thrown out all expectations and has made a mockery of all the entire plot that has led up to this point in the story.
Basically, GoT has spilled spaghetti all over the place and that's far more discussion worthy than a movie that mostly met expectations.

All fiction is based on suspension of disbelief. If that suspension is broken through shit writing, you get a bad movie.
If you watch Endgame without thinking about it while following its up and down emotions, then I can see it working. But once you actually start to think about it, connect it with its other movies, and apply its time travel concept, then the entire MCU just falls apart.

That’s exactly how you’re supposed to watch the film. It’s capeshit, don’t think too hard about it. If you take a step back and think about why they decided to add time travel, it’s pretty obvious the whole purpose of the time travel shtick was to be a callback to former movies.
In that sense, I see nothing wrong with what they did. It was to add gravity to the ending by reminding people of the beginning and show how far the series has come.

I remember Paul Rudd's moments because to me it seemed like he was the only actor who gave two-shits. Everyone else was pretty casual, didn't care, and just had a good time being around each other.

I was more pumped for Thrones than Avengers, but I was much more impressed by Avengers than Thrones. It's easy and popular to hate on capeshit here (and Thrones too, but capeshit hate has a longer legacy and more adherents), but Endgame was a good sendoff after a decade of buildup. It had some cheesy moments and problems to be sure, as is the nature of the genre, but overall it was satisfying. The Long Night was a long episode of shit, and a huge waste of time.
