SIEGE BEGINS AT DAWN
Alys Karstark is the greatest rack in Westeros.
FETCH THE LONG NIGHT PLOT STRETCHER
>rewatch season 1
>arya and sansa can actually act
wtf happened
but yer grace, the writers are too thin
add music feggit
No they can't, you just want too fuck them.
>drops out of Faceless Man basic training
>becomes Westeros' greatest assassin
anons, is she the Bill Gates of murder?
Vanity and disinterest.
Yo yo mama gabba gabba!
>Arya kills Jamie off screen
>Then kills Cersi
They wouldnt would they?
Just shows we all should aspire to wander around as a bum for a few years to reach our maximum potential.
Did last episode break anyone else? I know people have shitted on the series forever, but I genuinely feel, a lot of the past seasons were rendered pointless thanks to one episode in the final season.
to your shit nu wars webm? not a chance
Seriously, the more you think about the ending the worse it gets.
That's a man, baby!
>ayo dis like *sucks teeth* i mean dis shit like *rewatches the rape* like sum *it's beautiful btw* dis like sum fire and ice song and shiiiiiiieeeeett
twitter.com
Some dude did a breakdown on the problem with the episode's visuals. Is reddit still in denial about this? It's like people don't want to admit their nerd Super Bowl television event of a lifetime was tarnished.
no retard, to the mega video
literally every ucing fagot and their mother on Yea Forums has been shitting all over last episode, lurk more
people are still pissed
>THE NIGHT KING
>A BEING THAT CAN SINGLE HANDLELY KILL DRAGON WITH ONE THROW OF HIS SPEAR FROM A STANDING POSOSITION
>GETS ONE SHOTTED BY A 100 POUND LITTLE GIRL
it's fucking beyond comical
NO WAIT WAIT WAIT I JUST WANTED TO TALK AAAAAGAHHHH
youtu.be
it stars at 6:45
Fuck me. I remember not being excited about the previous season, but I had forgotten why. But now it's all coming back. This shit sandwich is giving me sand snek flashbacks.
It's probably easier to act like girls actually act, like they had to do in the earlier seasons.
Reminder that the NK’s motivation is dumb as fuck and they just gave Sam and Bran a couple of throwaway lines in episode 2 so normalfags wouldn’t wonder after his defeat. There’s no implication throughout the past seasons that he wants to destroy history. It’s not like the white walkers were taking down weirwood trees or destroying libraries and shit. The original three eyed raven in the show also lived in secret, like no one knew of him
Almost as bad as Stannis' death
WAIT ARYA, I HAVE A SPEECH PREPA-
It's worse. Stannis' death destroyed 4 seasons of buildup, this destroyed 7.
WHY THE FUCK DID RHLLOR KEEP BERIC ALIVE
SO HE COULD THROW HIS SWORD AT SOME ZOMBIES AND THEN BODY BLOCK A BIT?
FUCK OFF
I WAS JOKING, I'LL BUY A FEW OYSTERS
Why would anyone here care about reddit? Go back.
>He thinks Beric is dead
Am i the only one who got what the writers were trying to tell with each scene in the ep3?
seems like i'm the only one who's not butt hurt about it...
i was expecting based beric to burst into flames to kill wights or some shit but no, he just gets stabbed pointlessly
Whats the name of the song that played at the end?
I had more emotional connection to stannis and it ruined his character forever. If they built Night King up as a charterer I would have felt more.
t. cuck
i don't have a wife

are the fatman's books worth reading
no
What are your thoughts on the consequences for the D&D because of the last episode / season 8 in general?
People have been saying it since season 5 but last episode really should make it clear to everyone that they are not creative enough or just not willing to handle this story. Given time I think the braindead fanboys will slowly realise this episode was really quite bad.
Do you think they'll struggle to find work after this or are you more cynical? I would like to think people in the industry have put them on a blacklist now as shit meme writers
WAIT MY TAX PLAN INCLUDES INCENTIVES FOR SMALL BUSIN-
GOT should have been put on ice untill the fat man finished the books
>smirkfu
>frogfu
>snekfu (x3)
What are the names for the other waifus?
>Implying you have anything better to do anyway
>What are your thoughts on the consequences for the D&D because of the last episode / season 8 in general?
Everything in our society now is about failing up
Trump bankrupted himself like 5 times and got rewarded the presidency
Rian Johnson was rewarded a star wars trilogy
Dnd were rewarded Confederate and a star wars trilogy
lol they made game of thrones into one of, if not the most successful TV series of all time. you're a fucking moron if you think they're going to be out of work. you're also a fucking idiot if you think this industry values good writers.
>it will look great on bluray
aka working as intended
jej
>Do you think they'll struggle to find work after this
that's pretty naive user
Even if the show went full retard it's still extremely popular. They'll have no trouble finding another gig.
A good idea in theory but practically unfeasible
Meawhile the masses are eating it up.
Is jaime officially useless
>his character arc was ruined due to the stupid writers having be Cersei’s bitch boy for s5-7.
>does nothing at the battle of winterfell
>won’t kill Cersei because that is expected and it’s known now that D&D want to subvert expectations
His character arc will be just as meaningless as Jon and Bran’s. It would be poetic justice for him to kill Cersei and the writers can’t let that happen because of muh twists
Dude, they don't give a shit about Game of Thrones so they go for gratuitous shit that will get Burlington Bar reactions and twitter replies.
They got hired for Star Wars of all things and will suck that sweet sweet disney dick now.
>the path to the godswood is blocked by the undead dragon
>this is why Jon wan't get to Bran
>Arya somehow passes it
the more you think about it the worse it gets

No. If you haven't started, don't bother until they're all done (loooool)
D&D will be doing Star Wars, following the footsteps of esteemed names like JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson. Now you know what the future of that franchise will look like.
Sotto to take old old post but I saw this just after I woke up
Anyway he wasn't the first one to think that the KN lost his spear after falling from his dragon Which is incorrect, because right after he survived the fire and smirked he grabbed the spear from the ground, then threw it at Drogon, and THAT is how he lost his spear
I just had to point it out because of my autism, that's all
1/2
That's why Jon was resurrected. To keep the dragon busy so that Arya could get past it and stab the meme king.
They're rich Jews with family ties to Goldman Sachs

You wish, people love this shit just as much as they love capeshit and remakes.
>Sorry King, Gendry bought up all the oysters today.

Sansa will topple Cersei with her 300 IQ while Jon's sword literally loses its rigidity
Reminder Jaqen is Syrio and he's coming back this season
Tryion drops some quirky joke after getting their entire armies killed after making some cease fire agreement with Cersei.
Really makes my noggin jog considering those star wars references
>Star Wars The Phantom Menace
Anakin, a kid, goes into the droid control ship, destroys it with an easy cheap shot, and the entire mindless battle droid army is defeated.
>Game of Thrones
Arya, also a kid, kills the Night King with an easy cheap shot, and his entire mindless zombie army is defeated.
Hilariously pathetic. GoTards have been eating shit this whole time.
Let me post from a better show
Bookfag here. Last episode made it clear that this show became complete fanfiction after ((they)) passed the books. Held out hope that there was a plan, got jewed.
>Lord of Light employing the "screeching autist distraction" strategy
based if true
based D&D will be right at home subverting expectations alongside the greats
Is that Loras vs. Davos?
To be fair to Phantom Menace, the droid control ship blowing up made far more sense.
Did Jon just assume that if the NK died everyone else dies? What if NK died and the rest didn't?
Would Bran being the KnightKing save the series?,
NPC
What the fuck, when did that happen
>Would Bran being the KnightKing save the series?,

no
Jon fanboys still SEETHING that their beloved character didnt kill Night King? This, is actually was what D&D did right, fuck this mary sue faggot
Yeah, you're the only one. Everyone else is wrong except for you who has the right opinion cause it's yours and stuff
How much better would GoT be with Book's Euron instead of Evil Jack Sparrow from the show?
>fuck this mary sue faggot
>he says while cheering on arya
YASS
Without Victorian it's pointless
It's Gary Stu fag.
youtu.be
720p is best I could get it but here you go
If Jon is a mary sue, Arya can't be. *childrenlogic*
time to read good literature, because ASOIAF is mainstream, straightforward, generic garbage..
Reminder that the plan was for 100.000 Dothraki to charge into the army of the dead with ineffective weapons (they did not have dragonglass).
Convenient how the red woman showed up and made their weapons effective against wights.
>The Unsullied? yeah just put them in some loose formation in front of the trench it's fine
>The Dothraki? yeah just charge them into the darkness it's fine
>The artillery? yeah just put them in the frontline it's fine
>The Knights of the Vale? yeah just dimount them it's fine
>Maning the walls? yeah we'll do it mid-fight it's fine
>Officers? yeah just shout commands randomly it's fine
>Torchbearers? yeah just wait Dany will do it it's fine
>Archers?..... What do you mean? What are "archers" anyway?
Not if he just fucks off to the Land of Always Winter with the implication that he'll begin the cycle anew in a couple thousand years. It needs to happen this season, he needs to raise the dead Golden Company all around le good guys, and it needs to be the REAL conclusion to all this Long Night shit. It's the only way they can redeem themselves after that Battle of Winterfell and Arya shit.
>Jon fanboys
Are there really people who like that wet piece of cardboard?
>what the writers were trying to tell
they were trying to tell viewers "fuck you for being invested in this shit, we've got star wars money coming out way, we're done with this trash show now and we're not even going to put any effort into finishing it lol"
What the fuck Davos.
when stannis and his troops invaded highgarden
>100.000 Dothraki to charge into the army of the dead with ineffective weapons

NO
ARMOR
OR ARCHERS
I could read other books or get into F:GO JP or listen attentively to my lectures
What kind of pleb would chose left
>The show has been leading up to a confrontation with him since the first scene of the first episode.
Nah. It's been leading up to a confrontation with the Others as a whole since then. The Night King was introduced in Season 4 for the first time and only truly made to be a clear leader in Season 5 - and it was a fucking mistake to simplify an entire civilization into basically just being mindless zombies to a blank slate of a villain whose only goal is "kill everyone lol". D&D are fucking hacks.
I didn't want jon to kill the night king. I wanted the night king to kill every living person on westeros for ignoring the threat he embodies, for being single-minded political faggots or shitty peasants. I wanted these characters to be held accountable for 7 seasons of willful ignorance before they scramble to form some makeshift defence at winterfell at the last fucking minute. I wanted that to be not good enough
>Final episode
>Both armies are all dead
>Kings landing destroyed
>thousands of dead bodies around
>Jon, Danne, Arya think they have won by killing Cersi
>Bran raises his arms, brings them all back to life
>Knight King wins after all
>thinking either of these faggots are the final boss
This is what infuriates me the most.
Also, they sent a wolf to charge with them. A fucking useless wolf
So when does Varys start doing something?
incredible thanks m8
Jesus christ I forgot about ghost charging with them. The more you think about this episode the more stupid bullshit you uncover
Cersei is as much of a threat as the Umbers at this point
>Hated by every single major house in the seven Kingdoms
>Hated by the church
>Hated by the smallfolk
>Has no Lannister Army since they all got burned in the Fields of Fire 2.0
>Is known as Untrustworthy
>Euron has literally not a single reason to stick around since he got to bed her and he has no reason to fight for her
>Gold Company might fight for her since they hate Targs and never break a contract but are severly outnumbered and have no dragons
How is she even a threat anymore.
Not like it made a difference.
Some user in another thread was saying that they added Ghost in post production when they realised that they need it for twitter points. Notice how NOBODY acknowledges that it's there.
Dnd will have some retarded reason for why she's ruling literally everything and has a huge army for no reason.
Tryion will want some peace deal or some retarded shit. It's so fucking retarded.
>Le wacky Sailor
Yeah because the Greyjoy Rebellion worked out great the last time
>Next episode: Starts with the preparations for the battle, but plays out differently
>Bran is viewing all the different ways things could play out
>The Night King wins, he dies, he wins, he dies
>Eventually selects the optimal timeline and manipulates events to make it happen
Trust D&D guys, this was just one of the more outlandish scenarios
Ugh just like have sex incels??
What's the problem with having an alcoholic soccer mom as your main villain?
both are mary sue, but Jon is bigger, he had plot armor much more times than Arya, their are two biggest mary sue's in the show. I would prefer Jaimie or some secondary character to kill Night King.
Is this race changing app still avaliable somewhere??
i had noticed that in episode 2
>Ghost is just hanging in the background
>Edd passes by him without even looking in his direction
>Tryion and Sasna look like they are gonna kiss hiding behind some tomb
>both take out daggers and look at each other
>this is their final time together as husband and wife and will kill themselves to prevent themselves from turning and being eaten alive
Maybe this will finally get good. Maybe I'll get emotionally involved.
Yeah I know, but still. They planned a completely ineffective cavalry attack. It was dark as fuck, the enemy is a rampaging horde of undead creatures and the Dothraki don't even have effective weapons or armor to fight them.
They were seriously going to hand the army of the dead another 100.000 fresh corpses to add to their ranks. What the FUCK were they thinking?
Who?
Psyche, bitch.
S U B V E R T I N G your expectations
>using logic
user please, it's been 70 episodes now.
>Gold Company might fight for her since they hate Targs and never break a contract but are severly outnumbered
Are they though? Dothraki are certainly gone sure, but the mountains of bodies everywhere suggest Dany and the North don't have a great deal of soldiers left. Unless of course the (supposedly empty?) Iron Islands somehow come to the rescue at some point.
>Dorne: Targ Loyalists
>The Stormlands:Baratheon/Stark Loyalists
>The Reach:Ruling House killed by Lannisters, no Friends of the Crown
>The Vale: Stark Loyalists
>The Crownlands: Loyal to whoever holds Kings Landing, hate Cersei since she blew up the Vatican though
>The Westerlands: Lannisters Hometurf, no Standing Army, Tyrion or Jaime are Rightful Heirs of Casterly Rock and should have the Command, also already once sacked by the Unsullied
>The North:Stark Hometurf
>The Iron Islands: Ruled by Euron, only goal was to fuck Cersei, achieved that goal and he''s smart enough not to pick a 10:1 fight
There is no way Cersei can get Support from anywhere
That's honestly how the actors were playing that scene. It's like even they didn't know what their characters were supposed to be doing
>Arya is going to wear Jamie's face and kill Cersei going for a x2 prophecy steal
>Cersei is 'killed' by her brother but not really
The whole strategic setup was pants on head retarded. Whoever came up with it doesn't even video games, let alone history.
Just imagine how great that scene would have been if it actually led to something
La Creature Del Anglo
>Tyrion and Sansa ending up together uniting House Stark and Lannister
Might actually be cool
>trust d&d
>wrote a zombie polar bear into each season until they were finally approved in season 7
Bran is the key character if the WW storyline will be redeemed or not. I really hope that they have much more for him.
don't worry, they're gonna pull some surviving army and an entire fleet out of thin air
>"we still have x number of unsullied who made it"
They'll pull some other armies out of their ass I'm sure. Dario shows up with troops from Mereen, or some smaller houses join their side, or they make the golden company an offer they can't refuse.
It's going to be some shit army ex machina and you know.
The Dothraki charge was stupid, but honestly they'd all become completely useless in the 30 seconds it took the army of the dead to cross the battlefield. Shoulder-to-shoulder corpses as far as the eye could see, with no room for them to do their trademark open field thing. I honestly don't know what the better strategy would be. Would it work to have buzzsaws of cyclical Dothraki cavalry flanks on either side funneling the dead into a wall of unsullied? Seems like that'd be the best way to keep the Dothraki on the move and safer from pileups of the dead, while leaving the dead clustered linearly and vulnerable to continued trebuchets and dragonfire.
I know you all say she's a goblin, but I think she's proper fit here lads
kek true
Kek
>Despite the entire castle being filled to the brim with Zombies to the point where they crashed through the ceiling we still have thousands of battle ready men left
>Also nobody has PTSD after seeing all their friends ripped apart
Yeah it'd be a good emphasis of how much Sansa has changed in the last few seasons
You forgot a part where only Dorne can have army
picking off stuff from the flanks and causing them to funnel into a shield wall would have been infinitely better than just smashing face first into a horde of zombies
youtube.com
Why didn't Ser Vardis drop his sword and catch it with his other hand and killed Bronn? If he did that, then he would have won.
There's no way for them to make this believable in the span of three episodes.
This technique is only available to yass slay queen mary sues incel!
thanks user
What happened to that character anyway?
>Also nobody has PTSD after seeing all their friends ripped apart
Consequences do not exist in Game of Thrones anymore. Remember when Cersei blew up the Sept? Nobody in King's Landing does, nobody gives a fucking shit. She's having what is probably the most unopposed reign any Queen/King has had ever. Remember when Arya completely fucked over the faceless men? They don't. Remember when she literally wiped an entire house of the face off the earth, and then told the witness to tell people about that event? They didn't, it literally hasn't been mentioned once since. Who the fuck is manning the Twins?
ASOIAF is literally a story about consequences. Jon Arryn's death was the initial incident that sent the realm into war, and the consequences of that were still felt seasons later. That's gone now, it's just epic moments with no build-up required, nor any attempt made to deal with the fallout.
>mfw the 8000 year old apocalyptic threat didn't even conquer one of the seven kingdoms
>mfw there is no way anyone outside the North would take that "army of the dead" shit seriously
>mfw no way the maesters would put that shit in the history books
>mfw 95% of the world wasn't impacted in the slightest by the "Long Night"
The show is just a list of things that happen, nothing is set up so why would something like this be any different?
>Tyrion: Lets make it work
>Sansa: You never work and you're short
>Both giggle and wink at the camera
>Audience goes wild because it's cute and unexpected.
He doesn't have a woman's intuition.
>Also nobody has PTSD after seeing all their friends ripped apart
Yeah, after that kind of battle you can say a survived soldier will sit in some corner, staring into nothingness for days just processing the fucking nightmare he come through.
>Long night
More like the inconvenient hour before dawn
Not enough plot armor
Where is this from?
>the 8000 year old threat so tough that stories of the horror it brought are still told today, and the way that the people of the time "defeated" it was merely by driving it up north and building a wall to keep it there
>arya, the "trained" assassin who literally stood out in the middle of the street when she was being targeted and let herself get stabbed several times manages to take the night king out with ease after a battle where nobody of importance dies that lasts literally a single night
It doesn't even matter that it was Arya. Anyone beating this threat, and this quickly would be a fucking travesty. This is utter garbage.
Will Arya impregnate Gendry with her child who will be some kind of super Baratheon Stark master breed who will take over Westeros for eternity?
>ARRGH HELP ME LITTLE BIRDS
remember when armor had purpose?
jorah catching the dothraki blade, bronn stabbing vardys in the gap of his neck....
>the "Long Night"
I'm still kind of amazed Dungeons&Dragons didn't have someone say "it's going to be a LONG night" right before the battle.
YAAASSS SMUGGLER SLAAAY
He's gonna put a Blackfyre on the throne.
>Davos to smuggle Varys and Arya into Kingslanding.
>Varys knows all the secret tunnels and passages, to get close to Cersei.
>Arya kills Cersei, takes her face, surrenders and bends the knee to Daenerys.
The End.
King
Slayer
>single handedly kills a Giant due to fearless bravery
>The Hound has a breakdown and quivers in a corner
Little girls are way more powerful than white men in 2019
>So when does Varys start doing something?
Trust the plan
Ed Sheeran and his friends were keeping the peace in the riverlands after the Freys got killed. They say so themselves.
Remember the broken men speech in AFFC?
youtube.com
Remember how GRRM made a point in showing the suffering of the common soldier and peasants in war?
Remember how one of the major themes was how they don't give a shit about who sits the throne?
>"The common people pray for rain, health, and a summer that never ends. They don't care what games the high lords play."
Remember how it was never supposed to be about BRAVE SOLDIERS fighting EVIL MONSTERS?
D&D sure as shit don't
nth for Stannis
TELL THEM ONLY THAT THE NIGHT KING IS DEAD AND ARYA STARK DIED WITH HIM
Best ending ever
Now that the Night King is dead, are they going to explore the Land of Always Winter or is it just going where Dorne went?
It really doesn't make any sense. The First Men must have known dragonglass could kill the WW, hence them burying it at the Fist. Why then, were they somehow able to move the Night King all the way back up North and then erect a massive 700ft wall in front, but not able to stab him with a bit of dragonglass? It stands to reason that at some point, the intention was for the WW to be unkillable, or at least the Night King. The fact that they could kill him at all, and that doing so magically also wipes out every single White Walker, and every single Wight is fucking ridiculous and turns this entire thing into a joke.
Himself?
Yes, ignore all the contrarians who think the books are utter trash because of some minor flaws or otherwise. They're definitely worth reading especially for a show watcher.
Should have used the trenches to funnel the dead into choke points where they get blocked by the unsullied and decimated by northern archers. While the Dothraki are doing flanking maneuvers with horse archers to distract the flow from the forward movement, baiting groups to the sides and away from the throng that can be dealt with. Also catapults protected by trenches and supplied with a steady flow of incendiary ammunition.
I even used crayons so dabid can understand
Didn't they also make it a big deal about the Red Wedding and them not wearing armor during it?
Books 1 to 3 are great. And then you realize it’ll never finish satisfactory.
Going to go have sex with a prostitute
WISH ME LUCK GOT
Second time this year I'm getting laid
yeah, that's why Catelyn freaks out when she sees Roose is wearing mail
>And then you realize it’ll never finish satisfactory.
I hope he cancels the books, burns the drafts. And my headcanon says Stannis beats Ramsay, kills the others, and becomes king of westeros.
>With the NK dead the ice thaws and reveals the true threat that the WWs were supressing the whole time
Or Arya stabbing the Hound with a knife only for it to get caught by the armor.
they also bothered to somewhat portray it in History and Lore, but in the show they keep on acting like it doesn't exist
youtu.be
I always loved how Thorne became a badass during the battle for the wall, his speech alays gets me
>WITH ME NOW! WITH ME!
>I'm not an "American First" (and maybe because I read science fiction) I'm a "Terran First". I'm a human being first. And I have this sympathy for other human beings no matter what side of the giant ice wall they happen to be born on.
>Sure. Some of the reviews have been very flattering, but the series is not finished yet. The end needs to be as strong as the beginning.
>when my characters are in danger, I want you to be afraid to turn the page
>Tolkien made the wrong choice when he brought Gandalf back. Screw Gandalf. He had a great death and the characters should have had to go on without him.
>But I think the battle between Good and Evil is fought largely within the individual human heart, by the decisions that we make. It’s not like evil dresses up in black clothing and you know, they’re really ugly.
>there are things about it, the whole concept of the Dark Lord, and good guys battling bad guys, Good versus Evil, while brilliantly handled in Tolkien, in the hands of many Tolkien successors, it has become kind of a cartoon. We don’t need any more Dark Lords, we don’t need any more, ‘Here are the good guys, they’re in white, there are the bad guys, they’re in black. And also, they’re really ugly, the bad guys.
There should have been a dance off between Bran and Night King at the end.
just chuck the sparrows, the tyrells and the white walkers on there as well

The worst part is Tyrion and Varys literally stayed in his house in season 5 but he never appeared.
Iron bank isn't doing shit this season.
>yfw a young slut starts to fingerbang your dusty old pussy... but you rather like it so you let it slide
Amazing job there
What? Illyrio is not in S5 at all?
She was just stupid kind of brave, and she died.
>What? Illyrio is not in S5 at all?
I do not remember seeing him since just before Ned died in season 1 I believe.
Seems legit
BRAVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVO
There should be a public vote to see if this episode was good or not. A non-binding referendum.
Dont forget The Mountain, Euron and Qyburn. All within seconds of one another.
Your brain has to be shit to not realize Arya is gonna faceless herself as the Mountain and kill Cersei.
Just one question: can you see the user names of those who upvoted your video?
Because my YT username is my actual name as well
I think that the worst part is that the dummies are saying
>HUR DUR IT WAS NEVER ABOUT ZOMBIES ITS CALLED GAME OF THRONES
Thats wrong because the entire point of the show was that it doesnt matter who sits the throne because doomsday is approaching and humanity could die. Its not like there is any political intrigue left since season 4 anyways. Why is Cersei allowed to sit on the iron crown, Dorne still has their armies. What about the vale, asha, the reach? When they see that 2 dragons are approaching, they remember what happened to the last ancient house that defied 3 dragons. What about the peasants, there is no political intrigue left because dumb and dumber sacrificed it for the magic zombies. But now they killed that off in episode 3 so I guess, Cersei is the main baddy now?
>only way for a female protagonist to win is by cheating
why is this becoming a cliche?
Lmao, don't think about the story nerd. Just enjoy the spectacle incel.
Do Blackfyre's even exist in the show?
Is Stannis gonna AGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH in The Winds of Winter, a fantasy novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire series by author George R R Martin?
Thank goodness he's still alive. He didn't appear in the third episode at all (he should've been next to Davos). There's a chance he's gonna make it but Cersei will probably explode a few buildings and Euron or the mercs will raid a few ships so it's not that likely
>Blackwater (9.7)
>The Watchers on the Wall (9.6)
>Hardhome (9.9)
>Battle of the Bastards (9.9)

OH NO NO NO NO
No but it's clear D&D are just doing whatever they like now.
>Do Blackfyre's even exist in the show?
I believe in the dvd extras, but not mention in show.
this is the ending for guys in cargo shorts who play warhammer 40k
for all the complaining you do about the plot your answer to it is some boring anime shit where a guy jumps off a ledge and lands on one knee and btfos all the guys on the ground around him

presumably the Tyrells just put all their troops outside the walls to get slaughtered.
Yeah. It's massively dampened rewatchability(?) because it was just "lol that's the end of all that and some character arcs" but it was done in a shit way. Jorahs arc was fine. But mellisendre and Beric was lame.
All that mystery around some fire god throughout the seasons and it bowed down to "lol he dead for real now coz he saved u arya so u can kill NK before he does anything of interest".
Its blatently obvious theyve written everything for season 8 so quickly to le tie things up.
Episode 1 and 2 were a joke and should have been Season 7 episodes. 1 and 2 and 3 should have focused on Night King and Bran. But now we know its just Night King does what he does because he wants to delete browser history. The end. Lol.
now would honestly be the perfect time for GRRM to announce a release date for TWOW
People were willing to overlook a lot of the faults of the last few seasons in the hopes that the ending would make up for it.
It didn't.
>Hey the guys who made HBO millions want to work with you
>"No they're shit at writing"
You really think the industry cares about quality? As long as money is being made, nobody cares about quality.
Unironically Bronn's castle looked better than Disney's logo Highgarden for offensive purposes
Another bookfag here. I was a bit worried that they were spoiling the main plotline with the show, no matter how shitty it became. Last episode cemented the fact that they have NO idea how the story will unfold, which ironically has reignited my hype for the new books. I'm pretty confident WoW will release late 2019/early 2020, but I just hope GRRM can finish the last one before he dies.
any day now...
Merlin s05e01
in the almost-impossible cas he did finish it, he's probably waiting for the final episode
The books aren't happening
>Mainstream
Sure
>Straightforward
Not really
>Generic
Also not true
Fucking hipsters always think everything that is popular is shit. If the show never came out and ASoIaF wouldn't be well known, you would've lauded it as the best fantasy novels ever.
Reality is ASOIAF are good with a few minor flaws here and there that pale in comparison with how shitty it's been adapted in show version
"The Night King"
Can anyone actually explain to me, from start to finish, what the FUCK the faceless man plot arc was? It felt like they were trying something half decent, albeit boring in Season 5, and then when people didn't respond positively to that, they just abandoned ship and turned it into something nonsensical.
Here's what I got:
>Season 5:
>Arya joins the faceless men and begins her training, with The Waif and Jaqen as her two mentors
>They set a number of tests to check her devotion to being no one, however she fails these, choosing to go after Meryn Trant for personal reasons
>"Jaqen" dies to pay for the life Arya stole, and then when Arya cries over his death, "The Waif" switches her face to his to reveal to Arya that neither of them are real people, just personas worn by the faceless men and that Arya may not have even been speaking to the same individual twice through this entire story, just different faceless men playing the same role. This is reinforced by Arya pulling the faces of Jaqen, ending on her own face.
>Arya is then blinded, presumably as a cost of having her identity taken by the faceless men(?) to pay for her mistakes
The last scene still leaves me a little unsure on what the meaning of Arya's face being there is, but it seems pretty consistent, but then I have no fucking clue what happened in Season 6. It seems like they decided to go back on The Waif and Jaqen just being personas worn by faceless men and treat them both like actual characters, the former of which is a Terminator who wants to kill Arya and Jaqen trains her but then at the end lets her kill the Waif and seems happy that she is not "no one" and then allows her to literally take a bunch of masks and fuck off and go around killing people at random for her revenge. What the fuck, this doesn't make any god damn sense?
I understand discussing what happened in the latest episode in this thread without spoiler tags, but these other threads where they say ARYA KILLS NIGHT KING in the literal thread topic seems pretty spoily to me. What constitutes a spoiler at this point?
>gurm
>writing
just let it go user
yeah i donno. best ayra was the comfy arya + hound travel scenes.
how is this shit not mary sue
wasnt arya supposed to make a choice between her identity or FM training
yet she gets to keep both with no consequences?
Don't worry. If you see those posts but haven't seen the episode, you'll just think it's an absurd joke.
Spoiler rules only apply to Endgame user
>because doomsday is approaching and humanity could die
I guess they really overestimated them huh? :^) White Walkers? More like White Males
The only thing I liked so far is this
when Littlefinger makes a return. If either of those to characters ever meant anything to the plot, they would be co-conspirators playing both sides.
Wouldn't it be a smart move if the NK hust flew over the ocean while letting his army march to winterfell so he can surprise buttfuck the entire world? He could just create a second army coming from the east all by himself while the rest of his army comes from the north. All that stopped him from doing that was his inability to swim, but he got a fucking dragon.
There is NO CHANCE LF makes a return, none at all.
what about the warlocks? They sent an assassin after Dany that got away.
Never touched upon again.
If only the Night King's army were filled with swans.
Oh look its the real Azor Ahai
Euron can summon the drowned god. He'll butcher half the cast.
I saw Jaqen's statement that Arya was now no one as a test. He knows about her funny little list, and that she will never truly be no one until it is done. Arya countering with her statement tha she is Arya Stark was her admitting that she could not let go. If Arya had agreed to Jaqen's statement, even if she managed to lie to Jaqen, he would have killed her. Jaqen pretty much carte blanche to go and finish the list to sever ties with Westeros. I also happen to believe that there are Faceless Men watching her to make sure she returns once Arya finishes.
Sansa and the Hound is more of a patrician ship but the writers basically forgot about it
this guy is full of shit BTW.
prores 422 is the old standard before apple jewed everyone. now everyone wants HAP/HAPQ, often at 10bit.
Nobody:
Brienne: AAAAAAHHHGGaaaaAaaaaaGGGGGGHHHHH
>tfw too intelligent for knowing how a dagger works
sadly no, sjws complained
The show had abandoned the Greyjoy arc until after their sitdown with George. There was absolutely no reason to introduce Euron unless he is going to win it all in the end.
arya is actually the waif
she'll kill cersei to pay debts
nice cope for the writers shitty hack job
This is what I thought was going to happen. That would have been kino. Sansa and Tyrion kill themselves right as Arya saves the day/night.
the episode is great and anyone beside me and a couple others i know fully hated it and that only makes it even better for me
most normies too hated it, it's really a blessed day
this is a prime criqitue of democracy
Anyone know how to make scenes bright post process?
This is currently the brightess scene in the entire episode.
report them. that's the textbook definition of an intentional spoiler
You don't understand how normalfags rate things
>epic gritty battle
>that's how I like my Thrones
it bothers the fuck out of me that even if he is immune to the dragon fire, his clothes sure as shit aren't. and if they are, and he made them so, why the fuck didn't he make the regular zombies immune to it to. fuck.
Stannis was a hairlet, night king was a spikechad
how clueless do you need to be about human nature to think that would happen? they are probably the 2 characters that showed the most how they are ready to do anything to survive, especially sansa fucking stark
Oh NONONONONONO
I didn't think a battle could be worse than the Battle of the Bastards but here we are
you seen when he walks over fine in former seasons? he's not immune to fire, it simply doesnt even go close to him, so clothing obviously wouldnt burn
Putting aside the Dothraki, trebuchets, and Arya being an anime character, I like season 8 far more than season 7.
I believe the writers took the criticism to heart. The first three episodes of this season were far more character driven, the characters made sense, no-one was teleported, the atmosphere was decent. They're trying, it shows.
It's still not at the height of GoT but amongst all criticism a point needs to be made that it's not as bad as season 7. They're trying. They're really trying.
Even Arya and the Hound is more likely right now desu
/got/
also youtu.be
Why is Set Jorah racist? Why did he genocide the Dothraki before he died ? Did he know he was going to die and not want Dany to be alone with many men of colour?
Remember when Sansa let Rickon die?
Remember when Bran let Theon die?
Remember when Littlefinger died when he knew he was in danger for 6 episodes straight?
Remember when Bran sat there and did nothing?
Are you fucking for real dude, piss off
He's no doubt seen it, he's just saying he doesn't have time because he wants to avoid fielding questions on it because he obviously thinks it's gone to the dogs, or the direwolves.
>millions
Try billions.
>Why is Set Jorah racist?
Even if he was a racist, why would he sacrifice all those troops when THEY WOULD BE RAISED UP TO FIGHT THEM
Like why didn't NK do that in the first few minutes?
OH NO NO NO NO
>Stannis finally gets his heroic moment, saves everybody and proves why he is the most worthy of the throne
>His ominous villain theme starts playing
youtube.com
A firing squad would be too good for Dabid
>no-one was teleported
Jamie? Red haired woman? FUCKING ARYA?
>switch hands
>enemy lets go
What did Star Wars mean by this?
short distance teleporting is just high speed movement so its ok
Theon teleported from Kings Landing to Winterfell between first and second episode
Highgarden wasn't hyped up for 8 Seasons
>Baratheon/Stark
You're forgetting that the Tully and common blood are diluting the mix. It would keep the hypothetical child in balance, rather than allowing it to become full chad.
>lowest rated battle episode
Despite me hating both scenes, Rey was in a headlock, cut away and her body has done a 180 and no longer being held onto. It's just a joke
literally rey but without sand
>They're really trying
wtf are you dense it's the exact opposite
they don't give a fuck anymore they can do anything they want and everyone sucks their dicks
Based hardhome
>didn't hear about From Software and GRRM teaming up to make a videogame
You will never get the ending to the books.
Battle of the Bastards showed an infantry shieldwall use proper formation with proper interlocking shields and cavalry being used for flanking and routing as they should.
Few episodes later, zero fucking strategy. Written and directed by the same people. HOW
Based
user, we both know that rumor is bullshit. GRRM literally said that after Fire and Blood he will not write anything until TWOW is released. He's not working on a game.
Not just battle episodes.
>“The Long Night” is the lowest-scoring of the season’s three episodes so far, and if it stays that low, it would be the second lowest-scoring Game of Thrones episode ever (it recently dropped below season 3’s “The Bear and the Maiden Fair“).
editorial.rottentomatoes.com
The smile that could have saved game of thrones
Why would they try if the bar crowd would prefer ebin twist moments? Not to imply that they're not retarded though.
I am serious. Season 7 was an abortion, one that I thoroughly disliked. Season 8 makes me care about some characters again, and I haven't seen flagrant disregard for logic, before Winterfell's siege that is. And even then they tried, even though some parts are clearly retarded.
Look I'm no fan of GoT. But there is a upping in quality in this season beginnings. The characters made sense. They did things that were vaguely expected of them. I really think the writers, though thoroughly incompetent, are trying far more than season 7.
Jamie didn't bother me. The red haired woman more, and I don't condone Arya anime moment. But it's not still as bad as season 7.
I find it funny how casuals ate it up like the greatest episode in television history. Now that the reviews of book fans and their favorite theory youtubers come out the general opinion becomes less and less positive by the hour... fuck I hate normies...
It's just sexist incels bombing the ratings.
I think he just realized that everybody hated his idea for ending the long night.
Who's running the Reach, Stormlands and Dorne right now lads?
Because the Dothraki are supposed to be native Americans (or the Red Man) and as Ser Jorah always says “better dead than red”
Are we in the timeline now where studios will say "no the episode was great, your TV actually sucks"? I have a 50" Samsung TV with brightness all the way up and couldn't see shit and based on how the episode went, I'm glad I couldn't
What's wrong with the bear and the maiden fair? It was kino
Plato figured this shit out
Oh and I forgot the Riverlands too. The fuck is going on there?
Did Edmure ever die in the show? I don't even remember
*clap clap*
you see (character A) said (word A)!! and (character B) also said (word B) in season 2 episode 7 at exactly 20:02 very faintly in the background
HOLY SHIT THE FORESHADOWING
>SUBVERSION
>no one was teleported
first episode Theon in kings landing, second shows up in Winterfell
Strong women, not weak men, that's for sure.
new
Didn't notice that. My bad.
new
well burn those bridges when we get there
>brown eyes
>blue eyes
>green eyes
>Littlefinger
>Night King
>Cersei
They say we shouldn't put value in prophecies (unless they are written by D&D)
Euron don't got those islands anymore, Yara has it. The 5 or so Ironborn Theon cut free with her 4 will take it and hold it while the entire Iron Fleet is out escorting evil Jack Sparrow on his quest to get his knob polished.
Eeeyyy, I see I subverted your expectations brooo
>They're trying. They're really trying.
Why would they. Every new season sets new records in user ratings and social media reactions.
kek
You forgot the part when all her enemy arms died in one night
running the what
For me the perception of things changes as more time passes, even if I don't hear other people's opinion on them in that time. The biggest factor is sleeping for the first time after watching a show episode/movie, it's probably just due to biology of the brain processing information during sleep.
Things that seemed okay at first can seem retarded the next day, or movies that seem bad/boring, actually end up being pretty memorable afterwards. Biggest example for the second scenario I can think of is VVitch.
I felt that this episode was going full retard as I was watching it, though, so not sure if this applies here
the major house of an area doesnt do shit anyway, the minor houses can do their stuff on their own
Should used the bolton shields to arm the Unsullied, not using a loose formation with fucking bucklers. The dothraki could have strafed the fucking WW, there's only 99~ of them and thousand of dothraki. Even if each WW solos 200 dothraki each like some anime character, they are trained horse archers. Plenty of opening to get smothered with dragonglass arrows. Only 1 needs to find its mark.
I can't believe they would have actual military tactics and strategy and then throw it all in the bin in this ep. Just because they're zombies doesn't make every tactic ineffective. If anything they're easier on some front. They operate like an MMO monster. You could fucking aggro and kite them with cavalry, split chunks of undead off the main line and then do drivebys. Dothraki can do this while kiting too.
KWEEEEEEEN
I like how he was body blocking to sacrifice himself, while in horrible shape...
And then he fucking hops into that other room with them. WHAT.
the final boss is within ourself my man
