>I keep noticing that there is complex themes that I missed the first time. Is there any sort of book or blog, that will help me explore the themes of each individual episode? I've searched online, and can't find anything.
>TFW you realize that Adriana La Cerva is also the girl in Sons of Anarchy
I just realized that a few days ago. Surprised it didn't occur to me before.
Nolan Thompson
How can you watch such shit after Sopranos?
Nolan Bailey
I actually watched SoA before the Sopranos.
I'm young.
Cameron James
So, what odds is Yea Forums laying for the new movie? Is it going to be shit?
Jason Brooks
It's been a while since I watched this. With Phil being dead why did the hit on Tony continue? I seem to remember something about little carmine taking his chance but maybe that was just fan fiction posted on here
Brandon Lopez
Seems unnecessary, we got enough backstory from the show about Tony's upbringing. It'll probably be okay.
The only analysis you need to understand the show. It was never about Livia, it was always about Johnny Boy.
Bentley Taylor
There's nothing definitive, but most likely it was from NY, because of how Phil was hit or just in general because of the whole mess that pygmy thing over in NJ started. I love the theory that Carmine was only pretending to be retarded, though.
This is 10/10 excellent except for his take on the finale.
Blake Wilson
Absolutely, this is a must read.
Isaac Cruz
did you mean to say >that's a good name ?
Andrew Gutierrez
What would a sequel look like? Where would AJ, Maedow, Bobby's kids, the Jasons, Blundetto's kids, the puerto rican whore, be?
Tyler Brown
Why is this thread dead, I want (you)s and discussion damn it.
Alexander Jones
I'm too busy watching the show, sorry.
Adam Gomez
That better be a rewatch.
Gabriel King
Bada bing bada bump
Ian Edwards
BADA BING BADA BUMP!
Mason Green
cock suckers...
Jace Sullivan
Just finished it the other day. Still taking in the ending. Fantastic.
Kayden Anderson
Long time cinema fan dipping a toe into television. Is anything else as good as Sopranos?
Matthew Campbell
Deadwood. That's about it.
Carson Smith
No. I don't contribute in sopranos threads. I watch it once a few years ago and left it that way. It's the only show that I ever really liked. Everything else I try is pure trash. Breaking bad was good to begin with but turned to shit pretty quickly.
Nicholas Harris
Been looking for something new ever since I finished it. Is Mad Men kino?
Joshua Ward
The movie is taking place during a time where Tony Soprano is 8 years old, but he is played by Gandolfini's son who should be in his early 20s soon.
Jace Sullivan
I finished watching it a couple of weeks ago (maybe a month) and I just know for a fact that I won't get that invested into any other series ever again. It's an empty feeling and it sucks pretty bad. I wish they could have made a sequel in series again but that would be impossible now that James Gandolfini died.
Joseph Sanchez
Also because he died in the show. What would a sequel be like though? See
Jonathan Harris
A sequel in which AJ tries finding out who betrayed his father would be cool. Maybe Little Carmine becomes a mentor/father figure since AJ went to work for him, Maedow would be having moral dillemas as a defence lawyer for organized crime. All the other kids of the gangsters can be back involved in the mob life.
Carson Stewart
Ay Tone, what's the deal with these fags making one post and fucking off?
Elijah Foster
Oz is breddy gud, nowhere near sopranos level but it’s definitely prison life kino. It hasn’t aged as well though.
Breaking bad and deadwood are also good. Breaking bad is definitely nowhere near sopranos tier tho.
Colton Perry
Mad men is breaking bad level imo. Not amazing, but somewhere between sorta kino and normie tier
Brody Anderson
Cmon now, there wasn't any cringe and shitty performances in Mad Men.
Zachary Evans
Yeah, fair enough. I’m probably rating it too low.
Nicholas Miller
Van Zant really looks bad in this
Jordan Lopez
jackie jr. he was a god fucking awful actor, i think they killed him off because they couldn't deal with his horrible acting anymore
Nathaniel Martinez
He was a great Silvio though.
Eli Flores
this BrBa S1 is almost sopranos-tier in character building, even despite being too dramatic and focused on a single issue without much depth over the surroundings and people years ago I tried watching sopranos after many people on Yea Forums it was better than BrBa, and I completely hated it after ep1 because I was expecting it to be like brba last few months I gave it another shot and it completely won me over, brba now feels like the pulp it really is
Nothing tops Sopranos in mainstream TV in terms of realistic writing and character development
Igmar Bergman made a miniseries for swedish TV in the 70s or 80s called Scenes From a Marriage. Only thing I've seen approach Sopranos, but of course Bergman is on an entirely different level than people make TV
Nolan Wright
Mad Men is the second best show after Sopranos because Wiener wrote the pilot while working on Sopranos, it borrows a lot. But Mad Men is much more stylistic and has a handful of pointless filler plots. Nobody in real life talks like they do on Mad Men, whereas Sopranos is full of people who remjnd you of people you know
Luis Hughes
SATANIC BLACK MAGIC
SICK SHIT
Zachary Hughes
Yes, watching paint dry is flawless
Liam Thomas
>Mad Men is boring How to spot a brainlet
Christopher Anderson
Remember the fast paced storyline about Betty being fat? What about how Pete’s story kept us on the edge of our seat? Joanie’s husband was a real exciting slice of more bullshit...
Insulting my intelligence bc I don’t agree that the slowest paced story of all time is brilliant isn’t gonna cut it fag
Chase Rivera
It's fine if you prefer cringe humor to drama.
Easton Wood
Pete is one of the most interesting characters on the show and a slow burn actually makes his character more compelling because it builds his sense of frustration and decline. Joans husband was important to her character but they did probably spend too much time on it
I can't defend fat Betty or Betty and that horse riding fuck which was the worst most pointless story on the show. Mad Men isn't as good as the Sopranos but to call it all boring is a mistake
Easton Taylor
Cringe humor? All that jumping to conclusions will wear your sock and sandal covered feet out user...
I actually liked the show enough to watch all of it but once I was done I realized that it could’ve been told in about half the time. The show is good but boy did it chew the fuckin time up
Gavin Ortiz
Breaking bad is cringe kino. You don't actually unironically think it's better in terms of drama and performances from the actors, do you?
BB hasn’t even been mentioned by me, I jumped in here bc of Sopranos homie.. I do like it bc it at least raises the pulse compared to MM but BB is by no means as good as Sopranos or Deadwood and both are better than MM
Ian Green
The paint drying comment was directed to me comparing the shows, I figured it was in defense of BB.
Adam Price
Just gonna bump my post real quick, would a sequel or prequel be better? I feel like we've seen enough of Tony's childhood and the result of that, what could they possibly add?
Isaac Rodriguez
Ah got it... I still stand by my comment that it was not very challenging and slow paced... it was a good show, just not entertaining and I love for my entertainment to be entertaining...
Nolan Sullivan
Sorry, I forgot what this thread was about... I honestly think that since JG is dead as fuck that it should just be left alone. His performance was flawless and doesn’t need anything else at all. I don’t care to know more about what happened afterward and the show did a good job of explaining what happened before already. I say leave it be...
A prequel about Johnny Boy and Junior's day that paralleled Tony's later life with Tony in an AJ capacity might be good but I feel like a prequel relies too heavily on the original and given how bad TV is these days about fan service idek if Chase and HBO could save it (i don't watch GoT so idk how bad they are at it)
A sequel would be a more interesting story but with Christopher gone and AJ becoming a regulat spoiled rich kid I'm not sure who they could use as a protagonist. And they'd have to get a strong one too considering how iconic Gandolfini's performance was. Honestly I don't want either. I think they told a great story and it can be put to rest. Hoping the movie doesn't botch it.
Evan Howard
brainlet
Jaxson Harris
Finished this series earlier in the week, WEW LADS. I'm still trying to take in the whole thing.
Kayden Hall
Insulting my intelligence bc I don’t agree that the slowest paced story of all time is brilliant isn’t gonna cut it fag

Benjamin Green
The best part is that rewatches only improve the show. You find new shit every time
Anthony Howard
Why can't something be brilliant if it's slow paced? I feel like you're setting the bar too low for TV in expecting it to be conventionally entertaining.
Dylan Johnson
The same goal could be accomplished with half the time... not brilliant
Connor Hernandez
Fair enough. That is one of the legitimate limitations of TV.
Kayden Barnes
>it's all about what happens in the end kys
Christopher Rivera
You're probably right, can't help crave more, tv is fucking shit. It's going to be mediocre, a movie isn't enough time to do anything. What about AJ as a protagonist? What about this post? If I had to choose it would be a sequel show, but it's probably best to leave it be.
Xavier Anderson
Good lord, the second someone challenges you you fall apart... good argument though lmfao
Christian Miller
>tfw no Meadow guardian angel
Kevin Jones
Anyone else spot Blundetto's daughter?
Christopher Williams
The Wire is the only American TV show as rich as The Sopranos. To get near that same quality on TV, you've probably got to look to other countries: The Singing Detective (UK) I, Claudius (UK) Berlin Alexanderplatz (Germany) Scenes from a Marriage (Sweden)
Asher Diaz
Deadwood is amazing. It's the only other series on the same level as the sopranos but it was canceled so there's no real conclusion. Epic kino either way
Hudson Brown
Yeah I'm planning on watching some post-Soprano interviews/docs then get back into it over the summer or fall. I heard there's a prequel about Silvio/Johnny in the works?
AJ doesn't make sense as a protagonist. It's not in his character to find who betrayed his father, he's more likely to justify a reason to absolve himself of any responsibility. And little carmine as a mentor is retarded, him and AJ together the movie would literally become a comedy
Christian Gutierrez
It would make sense since he went to work for him, and after Tony's death Carmine would feel bad for his family. In the show we discover that families aren't really taken care of, that guys like Paulie would hold out, but I don't get that from Carmine, he was a good guy. >it would be a comedy It's one of the things they did best in the show. It would have to be a show, not a movie.
