I can't tell who's baiting who but in the case no one is, Koyomi is a different character altogether in the manga, being a literal little baby by the time of the Kansas bar scene. In the movie she's for some reason much older and a friend of Hugo and it's unlikely she'll have any importance in the sequels, unless they decide to keep a much older character for the Barjack arc which I doubt.

I knew Alita suspected him, but I was not really believing it. I've seen too many crime dramas for that. Also, they didn't play up the "I'm going to get you better parts" thing that Ido did in the manga. The way Ido ignores Alita's question about the arm is better in the movie though. I suspected that Ido was involved somehow, as a good guy or neutral guy, but not that he was the killer.
I think I cried a bit, and it was when Chiren showed up in the church. I think she was so good. I kind of disliked Hugo at my first viewing, a bit like Jack in Titanic. Second time around, however, I liked him better because I understood that the film-makers weren't trying to make us like him - they are just as aware of how annoying and unhealthy his initial interest in Alita actually is. And when I'd seen the movie one time, I could remove my initial cynicism and just enjoy the movie for what it is. That's why the second time was even better than the first time. It's absolute kino from the moment that Alita arrives at the scrimmage.

Originally a manga. The online editions are shitty scans, except for the Nyaatorrents and Kindle versions.
The movie is a very good adaption of the anime, with some points from the manga thrown in.
The movie is a very good adaption, in that it captures the essence and uniqueness of the story, while improving on it in many ways.
For example, there are some shounen fighting tropes that are removed, and Ido is less creepy in the movie.
I'd suggest watching the movie, and then checking out the manga if you like it. The OVA is very dated, but it's on YouTube if you want to see it.

Yeah, I went in blind the first time, not knowing about the manga or anime at all, not even knowing it was based on anything. All I saw and heard, briely, was that it was an action movie-starring a cyborg girl, produced and written by James Cameron and directed by Robert Rodriguez. Thought it sounded cool and that I'd check it out. Little did I know It'd end up being one of my favorite movies, life-impacting movies, that'd I'd end up seeing literally a dozen times.

Looks like 10 euros per person. They also sell reserved spaces at the same price for groups of 2 or 6 people who want to have drinks and food. There doesn't seem to be any ban on bringing your own food, but you have to spend at least 8 euros for food and drinks at the bar if you want to reserve a place. Single-tickets can sit wherever and don't have to buy anything.
