I actually quite liked them. It was a slowburner, sure, but great one in that. Really showed the aftermath of War of Five Kings and has an interesting worldbuildung chapters in Essos and Dorne.

People keep saying that the 2 las wooks are bad but in reality they are okaish books that got blown out because GRRM is an autist and their editors decided to not constrain him anymore. So he just waddled around and started describing shit and characters way to much. But it wasn't bad, it had al ot of fluff but it also had tons of good chapters and his best prose is in those two last books.
