Fucking damage control
wow three single shots look similar to eachother, what a rip off hack amiright?
This seems like a bit of a leap. Also he would have been working on the movie already by 1965
what happened to japan though. all of them became hacks now
he was in production for most of the 60s. They started production in 65 on the opposite end of the world. Started writing the script in spring of 64. And walking down a space hallway isn't exactly the most novel shot.
And the space embryo isn't even the same thing as the forcefield.
Boring meme.
he was one of the biggest hacks around
this
and even if it were "true", kubrick did it way better
lel
OH NO NO NO NO
yes
a hack, no doubt about it.
the original quentin tarantino. i wonder how many black men his mother fuck.
i thought he ripped off Ikarie XB-1 instead
you can't be serious with that third one. The madonna and child is literally everywhere. the others are iffy as well
>3 films each have 1 shot that vaguely resembles another film
holy shit, he really was a hack
right is objectively more aesthetically pleasing.
>iffy
you're letting the memes get to you
They're both basing their spacesuit designs on actual designs from that era. The difference is that Kubrick has much greater attention to detail and a much larger budget.
There aren't many options when you're shooting down a narrow space hallway. Plus the picture on the right was so appealing because of the extreme attention to detail and lighting and fucking circular symmetry. The dude on the left looks like he's just in some concrete walkway.
And the bottom 2 are silly. Pretty sure Invasion of Astro-Monster didn't invent "circular forcefields" or whatever. And Kubrick's whole ending is that they watch Bowman spend his whole life in their observatory, then respawn him and send him back to earth, like he's a mythical hero returning from a great odyssey with a gift from the gods, reborn. So OF COURSE he's going to be in an embryo. Some space alien movie where they keep a godzilla knockoff in an atmostphere bubble isn't really the same thing. It's not the visuals or technology being employed were some secret at this point.

KUBRICK EXPOSED
This is the dumbest thread on all of Yea Forums. Thank you, OP.
Kubrick did it 500 times better, though.
shit I watched the wrong cut cause that giant baby didn't rampage all over tokyo in the version I watched.
>preferring kubrick's sinister autism to caring, human invention
you're a lost cause, m8.
the whole axe on the door scene from the shinning, THE MOST ICONIC MOMENT ON THE GODDAMN MOVIE, is copy from an european silent movie.
he was.
a fucking
hack.
sorry rob ager.
>astronauts in space! what a hack!

How dare he steal *two people sitting next to each other* and *woman holding a baby*.

The She-Devil is doing a literal Madonna halo meme. Kubrick's lady is just wearing a big hat. It's not even close. I like how autism triggeringly stupid this is.
imagine had the person that drew this instead spent that time having sex lol
"Barry Lyndon is Kubrick's best" is the clearest pseud-marker in existence. His fumbling imitation of a painterly style and period-piece aesthetics, mastered by Griffith half a century earlier, is as dull as it is derivative.
Shooting on 'le special NASA stem lens' is always brought up as if it were some empirical evidence of genius. It isn't unique. David Lean had a lens specially made just for one shot in Lawrence. Hitchcock had to do extensive modifications to create the Vertigo effect without having a zoom lens. Welles was one of the first to utilize 18mm in Touch of Evil. Jacques Tourneur did amazing things with filters and Technicolor to mimic watercolor vistas in Way of a Gaucho. To say nothing of what Griffith accomplished with 1910s technology.
you forgot the picture faget
imagine had the person that made those meme comparisons instead spent that time having sex lmao
suck it, niggers.
SAY IT AINT SOoOoOo
>Godzilla inspired some kino
Based Zilla.
Godzilla IS kino
He doesn't even scream while sticking his face in the hole. That's literally the most iconic aspect. Plus I'm not sure if it's in the book or not.
Not that Hollywood nonsense, though. The REAL Godzilla.
>some giant screen sitting on some folding tables
and the whole bucket argument and centrifugal gravity where big concepts being talked about in the early 60s. That'w what Kubrick was basing his design on.
And the set on the left is literally using folding chairs. Compare them to Kubrick chairs that didn't even exist on market yet.
fuck off weeaboo
fuck off capeshitter
He didn’t even say Here’s Johnny
The Juarez one is typical of 1800 dutch paining typical of Vermeer. BL one is typical of late 1700s to early 1800s Dutch painting. The She-Devil is typical of neoclassical 1800s painting like Bouguereau.
Everything is derivative of everything else and painting is the highest and mother of all visual arts.
doesn't even look through. Not shot the same. Literally just some movie where a badman chops through a door to get a woman and her kid. Kubrick didn't invent that trope. He was adapting a movie from a book about that trope.
Truly the boomer tarantino, cuckbrick btfo.
itt youngfaggots that are just bootiebruised that they never got to be alive when kubrick was
So whom copied Ishiro Honda?
poor guys trying to defend kubrick. denial.
i did the same with tarantino once, i van tell: its easier to accept the truth: guys a hack.
copy ideas and add something, has more money, 'its different'. its not. sorry.

Just watched The Shining last night and it was great fun. It doesn't matter if someone is a hack, so long as they're a good hack. If you can't process that, you've failed yourself.
>cherrypicked shots are all there is to judge from a movie
the absolute state of this board. go back to chapeshit.

>faggots unironically think this is similar in any way to 2001
OHNONONO HAHAHAHAHA
>people itt think artists and creators are actually original and not derivative
you guys are in for a rough ride
Interestingly, the one attributed to 'The She-Devil' isn't even a still from it (it's a lost film), but from a photoshoot.
???
are you serious
this
imagine thinking anyone has created anything unique without any form of influence ever, literally is not possible
Why would anyone here care whether or not they were alive the same time as him? You one of those sentimental queers who wishes you could sit in a theater in awe of his newest creation for the first time back when it was novel? Sounds gay af.
I don't think anyone is arguing that they're not. Everything comes from something. Free will is a meme.
tldr. stay buttblasted lifelet.
that's the whole point of this thread, faggot
there is a sour taste in your mouth when you discover that david bowienwas basically emulating the vocals from scott walker, from the walker brothers.
of course everything is derivative of something, but there are degrees of how derivative and from were comes the influence.
a filmmaker using painting as an influence is different than copying an intire fucking shot from another filmmaker.
>le cynical edgy zoomerfag
kys
>a filmmaker using painting as an influence is different than copying an intire fucking shot from another filmmaker.
no it isn't. And there's a difference between "copying" ala Snyder and having similar spaceship designs to shoot in.
Literally none of the shots posted are "copied" from some specific source. Some dipshit just found examples of things that look vaguely similar from similar genre pictures.
put my intire cock in your mouth

>lifelet
Yeah, I envy you sitting alone in a movie theater. You and are practically capeshitters clapping at a screen, except you sit thoughtfully resting your chin on your hand watching the credits like a middlebrow goober.
What's that on the left?
a cringy soviet film nobody cares about
directors are hacks if they depict space as a black void more than once
>Y-you clap at a screen!!11!!!!1!!!!!
Is this the power of Yea Forums? Fuck off.

Stop insulting /ourguy/, you pathetic zoomerfags. Go tweet about Trump or something. Maybe watch the latest Marvel schock.
I want you both to kill yourselves. This is not a shorthand for telling you to cool off with your stupidity, I am in fact earnestly encouraging you both to take your own lives for the betterment of the whole. Either that or unplug yourselves.

Ever hear of pastiche?
OP already told you
hiyah
Hack might be a strong word since he's obviously at least competent, but really the most impressive thing he ever did was fool obsessive spergs into poring over every shot he ever put to film like he hid the key to enlightenment in there when really it was all bullshit.
all these knownothing chidrens need to get
the 1st one isn't even vaguely similar, they're completely different
Keep replying daddy, all I wanted was for you to pay attention.
who here /talkslikekubrick/
you on the left
I'm not black though.
post tits
I've only been transitioning for 6 months plz no bully
defend this
go ahead.
>I'm not black though.
Does Astro-Monster have this?
both are the styles at the time of any space travel. It was fun and groovy. Not to say he didn't have access to these films. I'm sure he did. Still not a bad movie imo.
There arent many more ways to shoot that is there? Its meant to be contrasting how else would you film it? Wouldnt a part of the cinematography also be the shots right before and right after, making this a mislesding comparison, since i assume the other shots are different, i havent seen either movie
I mean it was 2001, i'm sure they had better effects
