There’s no NK in the book (we’ll theres a legend about one but he isn’t the leader of the current WWers) so most likely in the book there will be a battle at winterfell and they will simply “win” but with heavy casualties and then whatever happens next (Jon/Danny tension Cersei final big bad with Euron etc...) will go down and the only importance of the white walkers was to be a huge threat to deal with that Cersei ignores and then has a chance to defeat the jon/Danny after wards. That the skeleton plot I’m assuming they had here, maybe jon IS Azor Ahai and bringing the realm together getting Danny was lightbringer or some shit I dunno but Arya killing the NK being some big moment is totally a how thing the books will likely not have a single moment of prophecy just a big battle to severely weaken jon and Danny’s armies.

I went in knowing that Arya would kill the NK, but holy fuck, it was even worse than anything I expected. When the NK was standing before Bran, I thought that at least some kind of exchange or mind-battle fuckery would happen, but no, nothing. Just NOTHIN PERSONNEL outta nowhere.
The episode started to become kino when the NK finally started raising the dead and the other WWs showed up, and then D&D went and once again demonstrated their impressive ability to fuck up everything.

Other thoughts:
Drogon getting swarmed like that makes no fuckig sense. Also, what happened to the dragon Jon was riding? It crashed and then just completely disappeared mid-episode, only to show up again in the preview for next week.

The thing at the Nightfort was way later, after the arrival of the Andals and The Long Night when the then captain of the Night's Watch married a white walker woman and declared himself the Night's King. From the wiki:

My situation is laughable, compared to where I expected and my degrees, yet I know acquaintances (former college friends and exes) making $200k/yr, and I unfortunately still hear about highschool people making $40k. Whether they have kids or not, whether they vacation in Lisbon or UAE or go to redneck beaches, everyone is fucking miserable.
