To be fair I would imagine it's mainly women that do this on account of purses. The only time I ever use coins is when I happen to have some in my pocket from a previous purchase that day and using the coin makes sense. For example if I buy something and the total is $11.09, I will definitely give them a ten, a one, and a dime, versus say a 20 dollar bill where I have to get a bunch of bills and coins back.

physically its just disk density and layers, something that laser tech is still up for the challenge
