Great picks, I've seen a few tripping myself. You should check out:
Princess Mononoke
Song of the Sea
Beyond the Black Rainbow
Coraline
Fantastic Planet
Sleeping Beauty (original)
Annihilation
If you watch The End of Evangelion followed by Yellow Submarine while tripping, you’ll discover the meaning of life.
>Sleeping Beauty
>Fantastic Planet
>Coraline
>Princess Mononoke
seen em
>Song of the Sea
>Annihilation
eh probably not
>Beyond the Black Rainbow
... this is my favorite film. of course ive seen it, especially tripping. theres nothing else like it
>The End of Evangelion
yesss, this is one of the big ones. hell you dont even have to be tripping
id also rec this. pretty obvious but essential
Im happy you are all bringing such good titles. Thank you
I have 5 recommendations, and I dont really watch films while tripping ( I've seen a few, like Inception and interstellar) I only smoke weed when watching films, but there are a few that have crossed the boundary of being transcendental thematically and have a similar of effect on the mindset that psychedelics do. These are:
Lost Highway
The Holy Mountain / El Topo
Mulholland Dr
The Mirror
2001: A Space Odyssey
There are a few others but these are tho most accessible to people who want to experience what deep psychedelic and meditative states are like. I would also add Twin Peaks: The Return if you have already watched twin peaks or are interested
Weed is enough for me to have a deeper experience with films. Thats is why I made the thread.
this is the best post on Yea Forums I've seen in a long time
Baraka
The Fall
Samsara
Best post? That post is just a stoner posting movies hes tripped while watching.
After viewing El Topo for the first time 2 years ago I went on an acid western binge (most of which you can find on youtube)
>Zachariah
>Greasers Palace (Robert Downy Sr. directed)
>Dead Man
can't remember the rest but they are a dime a dozen after you watch a few
most lists/recs are garbage here, I have seen almost all of those and he knows what he's talking about, shitload of good recs for OP, fuck off
Just watch the matrix again reminding yourself its a budhist metaphor
Koyaanisqatsi
speaks volumes of the quality of posts here on /capeshit & game of thrones/, doesn't it?
ooooh look at me i'm coool user i'm fuckin tripppin
I don’t get why this film is so under appreciated. It’s literally kino
Those movies he recommended are actually good, haters gonna hate
Inherent Vice
>Stoner ESP
The Madoka movies, the witchs' labyrinths scenes in particular.
ken russell in general is criminally under appreciated
some are, but they're only posted because of degenerates needing drugs to appreciate them
Dark City
Crimes of Passion would be on my list
Also Mandy and pretty much any movie by David Lynch
any gaspar noe movie
Came to post this. The movie is pretty shit, but the psychedelic scenes are insane. The most accurate depiction of a strong DMT trip ever to be put to film.
Absolutely. I've been diving into his filmography lately and its sad reading about how fantastic movies like The Music Lovers and Mahler were savaged by the critics for not being straightforward realist biopics. Its a shame he still hasn't gotten the critical reappraisal and recognition that he deserves.
i've never seen the music lovers but mahler and lisztomania are incredible. pure energy and passion. and i agree that critical reappraisal is overdue. we need more of his films on bluray.
That’s a terrible poster
The Music Lovers is on Youtube in multiple parts, but the quality isn't great. That one definitely needs a blu ray; the sequences set to 1812 Overture and especially Piano Concerto No. 1 are just unreal. The latter is a perfect distillation of everything that makes him and his style so great.
Now that Women in Love got a Criterion release I'm hoping more may be on the way, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high.
This is the sickest list of kino I've seen here ever.
