Dany is ultimate Mary Sue

Even more manufactured debate making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Most people do not think she is a Mary Sue. The Mary sue argument is basically a strawman created for virtue signaling.

We are talking about the writing of a pop series. This isn't a political statement, or a social justice issue. People are mad that the final episode of a storyline opened 7 years ago ended in a Deus Ex Machina moment.

I fucking hate americans and their obsession with politics. Why do you fucks need to put them in absolutely EVERYTHING you discuss, is it because your culture is exclusively pop movies and tv shows?

She went through 6 seasons of training and was saved near death many times.

The entire Targaryen family are Mary Sues
Only good Targ is a dead Targ

What? Dany fails pretty often. She's a decently flawed character.

No you're an idiot parroting things if you think she is.

BUT

Her killing the Night King is one of the dumbest, nonsensical things D&D could have done and they did it.

You should thank america and the entertainment we provide to thirdwolders like you.

Yes

everyone worships her and the reasons for their worship are tenuous or nonexistent

she has magic superpowers

every character that associates with her is dumbed down to boring stupid 2d sidekicks to make her look good by comparison

she's the center of the universe

she never shows any weakness(es), she's always epicly strong and iron-willed

she makes mistakes but almost never suffers meaningful repercussions for said mistakes

tragic backstory

the writers constantly have the other characters tell us how amazing and great and revolutionary she is, because they are unable to demonstrate that to us with their writing

She can't be one because Mary Sues are supposed to be beautiful. Just look at this quintessentially british mongrel

like this tv show directed by jews and carried mostly by performances from british actors?

based and redpilled

Not a Mary Sue but she is OP and shouldn't have killed NK. Imagine being Kit Harrington. One day you're hot shit and you're about to save the world on the most popular TV show on Earth. Then the next day your showrunners decide fanservice is more important and they'd rather give your glory to a 20-something british slag who mopped floors and got stabbed once.

Based. Daenerys was a beggar. She got a incel army converted to her will only because she survived a fuck fire.

it has nothing to do with gender, her being a shit character has nothing to do with being a woman, it's to do with d&d being shit at writing

I genuinely feel bad for Maisie, she never asked for any of this.

it baffles me that she even considered that hair style. she would go from being a 3/10 goblin to a 6/10 qt with a decent hair style and makeup.

Why? she is richer than you. It's her job.

Jon and Dany are the fucking Gary Stu/Mary Sue power couple.

The issue with Arya being the one to kill the Night King is that there isn't any thematic link with her and it felt flacid as a result once the initial 'OH SHIT' moment passed.

They made some call back to a quote from season 2 with Mel to justify it, but they mis-quote themselves to make it 'fit' and seem like it was forshadowed all along.

The issue is that Arya doing it feels arbitrary, it's not a gender issue. Dany was the obvious choice, and Brienne becoming AA with the death of Jamie would have been a better 'twist' ending that still carried some thematic weight.

What was the moral here? Sick ninja skills save the day?

>Why do you fucks need to put them in absolutely EVERYTHING
because politics is everything you dumb faggot, it literally means "affairs of the cities".

Stannis will rid the world of filthy Targs

Arya wasn't really a Mary Sue since they show her going through training. The issue is that her story arc has been poorly executed and she somehow gained the ability to teleport.

Of course not. Years of shit she had to go through to be able to do what she did. Daenerys isn’t a Mary Sue either. Again years of shit endured and learned. She took the time to learn to rule. She’s not consistent or good at it but she does know how it’s done.

It's so fucking fake, Mary Sue wasn't a gender politics thing at all until journalists saw people apply it to Star Wars and then suddenly it's primo outrage bait.

Arya is a terrible example of a Mary Sue anyway, being a weird fugly psychopath.

No stop this. Arya was not the problem with that last episode.

>She's richer than you.
For how long?
Not like she's going to be getting any more big roles after this. She's basically a lottery winner and we all know how most of them end up. Unless she's smart with her money she can easily blow through it all and up poorer than I am.

Only she'll be the one forever known for playing the character that ruined game of thrones, while I'm still just me.

Anyone taking down the NK would have been a mary sue.

Arya at least had a training montage.

I think up until now, her and Jon both had the issue of being so obviously vital to the end game, that they had plot armor that made their sections boring as sin to watch because they were so obviously immune to danger.

D&D 'solved' this issue by giving everyone who is popular plot armor. Now everyone is equally dull and we're watching a generic TV drama again. BRAVO DABID.

Dany is literally the villian of the entire show you retard

>can't do shit
>gets trained
>still can't do shit
>constantly needs to be saved
>eventually gets trained for real
>has to overcome all kinds of trials like being beaten daily and being blind
>finally finished training
>is now finally good after spending years (or however much time passed in the show) training under magical assassin cult

Mary Sue is supposed to be good with little to no effort and for no logical reason.

Also what the fuck is this?

OBSESSED

>>eventually gets trained for real
You people keep posting this. Where was this episode where she recieved some kind of training? I must have missed it.

Dany is such a shit character

It is wholly fucking irrelevant whether or not she's a mary sue
Her arc never led her to killing the night king
It is thematically inconsistent
It is fucking jarring
It is poor writing literally for the sake of """subverting your expectations""" according to DnD themselves
But any criticism is cast as "you people I hold in contempt only dislike it for pathetic reason I have discounted, therefore I am superior to you"

Arya wasnt the problem. The problem was that the NK did nothing. The armyh that was getting built up from the first scene in the first episode won 0 battles. We needed to see them be a legitimate threat - killing people and taking over locations we have grown attached to over the years.

>everyone worships her and the reasons for their worship are tenuous or nonexistent
Most people who worship her got conquered by her, or figure getting in her good graces is a safe bet. A handful of people have fallen for her more personally but this is gonna happen when you're sexy and powerful. Not a mary sue thing.

>she has magic superpowers
Not a mary sue thing

>every character that associates with her is dumbed down to boring stupid 2d sidekicks to make her look good by comparison
They just sound stupid because the writing sucks. This was less of a thing in earlier seasons when they could crib dialogue out of the book.

>she's the center of the universe
Only in the regions she conquered

>she never shows any weakness(es), she's always epicly strong and iron-willed
Fucks up on the regular

>she makes mistakes but almost never suffers meaningful repercussions for said mistakes
Her rule of the east fell apart completely

>tragic backstory
in MY game of thrones?

>the writers constantly have the other characters tell us how amazing and great and revolutionary she is, because they are unable to demonstrate that to us with their writing
Lazy dialogue to emphasize plot points

>not just making a punji stick trap around Bran

Come on, user. Maisie William didn't write this shit. People should get mad at D&D for this pile of shit.

Every single scene she was there was training you dip. She literally got karate kided.

>that byline
based Zing Tsjeng.

>some character from a has-been TV show
>provoking debate on gender politics
Is there a bigger joke than millennial activism?

I cant believe an anime poster could be this based

Thanks for the constant supply of marxist propaganda, burgerclaps.

No, Arya was the problem.
It makes no sense logically or thematically for her to be able to kill the Night King.

People hype up this "Faceless Man" angle as if it excuses things, when they're just high priced assassins who never do anything more profound than occasionally killing some inconvenient merchant or noble. It's like saying "it makes sense that this character was able to kill Satan, they were trained as a ninja for a year."

>show me a scene where she trains
>posts a totally different movie
Powerful

>Maisie William didn't write this shit.
Will Wheaton didn't write his character either, but he still gets shit on to this day.

>People should get mad at D&D for this pile of shit.
People should do a lot of things.

It does make sense if the bad guys is Bran, not the NK. NK marched south and built an army solely for the purpose of killing Bran, and Bran manipulated the situation to have him come out in the open and be killed.

Really is one of the few ways to save the season at this point. Bran is the bad guy.

Mary Sue isn’t political you idiot.

Mary Sue = character that is good at everything for no reason.

Jon snow is arguable a Mary Sue. Danny is a Mary Sue, and Arya is also a Mary Sue.

Nah Rey is the ultimate Mary Sue, but Dany and Arya are very close

This basically sums up why the ending of the last episode was shit. There were two problems:

1. Thematically it makes no sense for Arya to kill the Night King as her story line has had nothing to do with the White Walkers or the Night King.
2. They made it happen with an asspull where she flies out of nowhere and kills him with a stupid meme move.

Even then it doesn't make sense because the Night King is still an 8000 year old undead Ice Wizard that supposedly needed to be locked away behind a seven hundred foot tall, three hundred mile long magic ice wall to hold him back from overrunning the world.

When they apparently could have just hired a Faceless Man to shank him a thousand years ago and called it a day.

>character that is good at everything for no reason.
no

I know what a Mary Sue is
But this is just more manufactured outrage at some perceived misogyny on the part of everyone who disliked Arya's stuff in the episode

For these people if you don't like Arya it's because you hate women.

>6 seasons of training

Two.

She has an incomplete AA in Faceless Man Studies

Are you fucking retarded? Yes you are, Dany is not Mary Sue, she has dragons who can protect her, she had Jonah who can protect her, she has her army who can protect her.

The biggest mary sue in got is Jon Snow, he should be dead already 20x or more. Arya is overpowered and doing everything by herself so again, Mary sue.. Sansa another mary sue which should be dead many times.

rey

How is you idiot Daenerys good at everything? She is not mary sue u fucking idiot. She isnt good at swordfighting as 8x3 showed, she had many fails in Essos governing it, at least she had her army and dragons but that doesnt make her Mary Sue, on the contrary.

She wasn’t until she killed 20 zombies and the Night King.

She trained to be a covert Assasin, not a fucking warrior

Dany alongside Melissandre was actually best written character in 8x3 episode, and for me she redeemed herself, but if the idiot writers, after that episode, will make some forced terrible drama about Dany vs Jon / Tyrion / Sansa, then it would be the worst writing that this show had, especially after 8x3

>posting about the episode all -literally- night
>didn't see anyone call her a mary sue
>woke up the next afternoon, being told that a large swath of show haters are doing it
>suddenly this is what we are talking about instead of the shows quality

She got an army and 3 dragons handed to her for free. That makes her one of the most powerful characters in the show.
